Fantasy Football Rookie Outlooks, News
Jadarian Price, Seattle Seahawks
Seattle Seahawks first-round pick Jadarian Price continues to be the second running back to take reps with the starting unit, as he was in voluntary practice sessions, still sliding in behind third-year back George Holani. However, for the first time this spring, he was seen handling entire drives with the first-team offense.
Unexpectedly, 2023 second-round pick Zach Charbonnet was spotted doing low-impact drills with trainers on Tuesday, marking the first time he's been seen on the field since his season-ending ACL tear in a Divisional Round win over the 49ers and signaling that he could be closer to a return than initially speculated.
With Charbonnet on the final year of his rookie contract, the belief is that Seattle's lead back responsibilities will eventually be turned over to Price, but with Charbonnet potentially back in the fold earlier than anticipated, and the rookie still needing to earn his way to the top, the backfield situation in Seattle has the potential to become a frustrating one for fantasy in 2026.
Kenyon Sadiq, New York Jets
New York Jets rookie tight end Kenyon Sadiq (hernia) is currently recovering from hernia surgery, but he's expected to be ready for training camp and should be a full-go for the start of 2026. The 21-year-old was selected 16th overall in the 2026 NFL Draft by the Jets after recording 51 catches for 560 yards and eight touchdowns across 14 games with the University of Oregon in 2025.
Sadiq posted elite testing metrics relative to his position at the combine and profiles as a high-upside pass-catcher at the NFL level. The Jets have another talented young tight end in Mason Taylor, which could limit Sadiq's playing time early on.
Still, Sadiq's athleticism should allow him to share the field with Taylor in certain personnel groupings. The Jets are also desperate for receiving talent behind wide receiver Garrett Wilson, so Sadiq should have every opportunity to make his mark. He profiles as a potential dynasty breakout candidate entering 2026.
Malachi Fields, New York Giants
After recording 36 receptions for 630 yards and five touchdowns across 12 games in his final collegiate season at Notre Dame, wide receiver Malachi Fields was selected by the New York Giants in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft. Entering his rookie year, Fields looks to be well-positioned to make an immediate impact in New York.
Superstar Giants wideout Malik Nabers (knee) is still facing an uncertain return timeline from the knee injury that ended his 2025 season. New York still has veteran wideout Darius Slayton on its roster and has been very active in the wide receiver free agent market, bringing in Darnell Mooney, Calvin Austin III, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Braxton Berrios, and Odell Beckham Jr.
However, none of those veterans should hold Fields back from a significant role if he can put together a productive training camp. Dynasty managers may want to be aggressive in pursuing Fields ahead of what could be a breakout rookie season.
Ted Hurst, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
With the Tampa Bay Buccaneers spending a third-round pick on perimeter wide receiver Ted Hurst, he steps into the league with colossal shoes to fill. For the first time since 2013, the Buccaneers will be without six-time Pro Bowler Mike Evans, after the 32-year-old wideout signed a three-year deal with the 49ers in free agency.
At 6'3" and 206 pounds, Hurst profiles as the most likely player to inherit Evans' X-role on the boundary, but the receiver depth in Tampa runs deep, with a versatile group of pass-catchers capable of playing across the formation. For Hurst to eventually earn an every-down role in two-receiver sets, his most direct competition could come from third-year receiver Jalen McMillan.
Reports out of OTAs have suggested that McMillan has put the neck injury that limited him to only four games in 2025 squarely behind him, and he has looked like the best receiver on the field at times. A younger prospect, with the bulk of his collegiate success coming as a downfield ball-winner, Hurst profiles as a boom-or-bust receiver who could struggle to consistently reach his ceiling early in his career, but in a weak draft class, he slots in as RotoBaller's rookie WR12.
Oscar Delp, New Orleans Saints
New Orleans Saints tight end Oscar Delp (hamstring) is back on the field during team drills. Delp is back to making an impact after suffering a hamstring injury during the second week of OTAs. The third-round rookie was reportedly putting on a show during recent drills.
Since his return, Delp has reportedly been the most targeted player during 7-on-7 drills. The Saints are hopeful that Delp can be a significant part of their future. He's currently in competition for snaps with Juwan Johnson and Noah Fant. Delp might not have a huge role in the Saints' offense right away, but he is certainly a promising young player.
