Colorado Rockies to sign Kyle Kendrick

According to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports, the Colorado Rockies and pitcher Kyle Kendrick have agreed to a one-year contract worth $5.5 million.

Kendrick, 30, spent his last eight seasons with the Philadelphia Phillies. Last season, Kendrick pitched to a 10-13 record with a 4.61 ERA and finished with a career-high 199.0 innings, one shy of a 200.0 inning season. Notably, Kendrick can earn an additional $500,000 if he reaches 190.0 innings.

The Rockies, always known to be in need of pitching, will hope for success from Kendrick as he joins a rotation led by Jorge de la Rosa and Jhoulys Chacin. The expectations are not high on Kendrick but he does provide a durable pitcher to the rotation, missing only 15 games on the disabled list throughout his career.
