6 Fantasy Football Sleepers, Busts: Undervalued/Overvalued NFC East Players

Jake Ferguson - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL News

Aidin's 2025 fantasy football outlooks for the NFC East. His top sleepers, busts, targets, and fades for the Eagles, Commanders, Cowboys, and Giants for 2025 leagues.

Since 2021, the NFC East has sent at least two teams to the playoffs every season, and this past season was no exception. Actually, it might have been the peak of the NFC East, as the Commanders made the Conference Championship Game and the Eagles won the Super Bowl in dominant fashion.

This division is renowned for the high level of hatred/banter between all four fan bases, as well as the fact that it hasn't had a repeat winner in over two decades. It is also home to several fantasy studs who can help you win your leagues in 2025.

However, there are also some players you should avoid. Without further ado, let's look at six NFC East stars and whether you should draft or fade these players in 2025.

Editor's Note: Identify fantasy football draft busts, overvalued ADPs, and key players to avoid so you can draft with confidence this season.

NFC East Targets

Dak Prescott - QB, Dallas Cowboys

Don't sleep on the Cowboys. 2024 was an unmitigated disaster, but they still managed to win seven games despite their superstar QB Dak Prescott missing over half the season.

Prescott is now ranked as the QB12, which is a bargain for a player with top-three QB upside when healthy. Prescott has two top-3 finishes under his belt (overall QB2 in 2019 and QB3 in 2023) and is still in his prime, which is almost unheard of for a player who could potentially fall into the seventh round (or even later) in drafts.

George Pickens is a huge addition, and the offensive line around Prescott has gotten even younger; in fact, it's the youngest O-Line in the league.

Young doesn't always equal good, but their O-Line was considered old and battered when Prescott threw 36 TDs and finished second in MVP voting in 2023.

Also, and this might be odd (no pun intended), but don't sleep on "odd year Dak." Since 2019, Prescott has been excellent in odd-numbered years (2019, 2021, 2023), while struggling with injuries in even-numbered years (2020, 2022, 2024).

Obviously, this pattern won't go on forever, but it's still worth keeping an eye on.

Wan'Dale Robinson - WR, New York Giants

Yes, the Giants' QB room is a mess, and targeting any Giants WR not named Malik Nabers might seem outlandish. However, fourth-year wideout Wan'Dale Robinson's WR70 ADP is too good to pass up, mainly in PPR formats.

Robinson is not a YAC merchant. He's one of the worst players in NFL history when it comes to generating yardage after the catch (3.9 YAC per reception). But his ability in short-yardage situations has made him a hidden gem in PPR formats.

He got targeted 140 times last year, which led him to a WR36 finish in PPR leagues. Russell Wilson/Jameis Winston/Jaxson Dart are all hungry to be the QB1 at the end of this season, and they need to make good decisions with the football to achieve this goal.

Their main priority will be throwing to Nabers, but Robinson will be their second-best option. He has caught 70.7% of the passes thrown his way so far in his career, and has steadily gotten better with each passing season.

Robinson is also seeking a lucrative contract and is lobbying for a more prominent role in the offense.

Jake Ferguson - TE, Dallas Cowboys

Another NFC East player seeking a new contract, Jake Ferguson's 2024 season got off to a poor start when he suffered an MCL sprain in Week 1, causing him to miss a game. But when he returned, he picked up right where he left off in his Pro Bowl 2023 season.

Ferguson averaged 53.2 yards per game in his next six games with Prescott (he averaged 44.8 in the entire 2023 season), but his numbers plummeted to just 22.9 yards per game once Prescott went down, and he failed to score a touchdown all year.

Ferguson's fantasy value has gone down drastically as a result, as he's now the TE16, just one spot ahead of perennial underachiever Kyle Pitts and one spot below backup Ravens TE Isaiah Likely.

Ferguson finished as the TE9 in 2023 (TE6 from Week 8 onwards) and has a higher fantasy ceiling than both players in 2025 due to his connection with Prescott.

His new head coach is also high on the 26-year-old. "I think last year was a fluke [for Ferguson]," said HC Brian Schottenheimer. "But the look in his eyes and the way his body looks, in terms of physique, and the way he's moving has been noticeably different in a good way."

NFC East Avoids

Dallas Goedert - TE, Philadelphia Eagles

Having been drafted by the Eagles just a few months after their historic Super Bowl LII victory, Dallas Goedert finally realized his dream and became a Super Bowl champion in the 2024 NFL season.

He has been a great tight end when healthy and has always been a key part of the Eagles' offense. However, it's the phrase "when healthy" that is the biggest problem with Goedert.

He has all the tools to be a consistent top-10 fantasy TE, but he has only finished in the top 10 once since 2020 (TE9 in 2021) due to his persistent injury problems.

Since the Eagles drafted Jalen Hurts, Goedert has missed 22 games. That's an average of 4.4 games per season. Goedert is a great asset when he's on the field, but his TE12 price is way too expensive for a player who has missed over a full season's worth of games in the past five years.

Deebo Samuel Sr. - WR, Washington Commanders

As I was finishing this article, Terry McLaurin took to the media to voice his frustrations about his contract status. The Commanders would be foolish to trade McLaurin when they have a developing young star at QB, and they will try their best to sort this issue out.

Assuming that Samuel will start the year as the WR2 behind "Scary Terry", Samuel won't be on track to have a standout year. OC Kliff Kingsbury has never had a WR2 record over 850 yards in an NFL season, and this is unlikely to change with Samuel, who looked washed up last year.

Sure, some of it could be attributed to his injuries and pneumonia, but that stuff could have a lasting effect. Once you lose that half a yard of pace as a WR at the highest level, it's gone forever.

Samuel's WR39 ADP is far too high for a player with so many question marks and red flags who is no longer in an environment that knew him best.

Jayden Daniels - QB, Washington Commanders

Here's the big one. Before anyone freaks out, I am not suggesting that Jayden Daniels will have a down year in 2025, far from it. He's almost guaranteed to be a great fantasy QB this year if he stays healthy, but his QB3 price might be too steep.

You shouldn't go anywhere near Daniels if proven superstars like Joe Burrow or Hurts are still available. Also, it seems wiser to invest in multiple WRs/RBs and select a more stable and cheaper QB, such as Kyler Murray or Jared Goff, as you know exactly what you're in for with those guys.

The possibility of a sophomore slump with someone like Daniels is too much to ignore. Don't forget how many fantasy managers were burned by C.J. Stroud and Anthony Richardson Sr. last year.

Although Daniels and Stroud are likely to be superstars for many years to come (thus making them perfect dynasty targets), no QB in 2025 redraft leagues should be taken before Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, Hurts, and Burrow.
