Vegas Golden Knights center William Karlsson (lower body) is not close to returning to the lineup. Thursday's game against the Columbus Blue Jackets will mark his fifth consecutive absence, and Golden Knights head coach Bruce Cassidy has announced that Karlsson will not be traveling with the team for an upcoming three-game road trip. This means Karlsson will not hit the ice with Vegas until after the 4 Nations Face-Off tournament. Additionally, the team remains without Cole Schwindt (lower body), which provides playing opportunities for Raphael Lavoie and Cal Burke.
