Players to Target in Trades for Fantasy Baseball
Blake Snell, SP, Los Angeles Dodgers
Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Blake Snell (shoulder) will make another rehab start on Saturday at Single-A Ontario, according to Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register. Barring a setback, this is expected to be Snell's final rehab outing before he returns to the Dodgers' 26-man roster. The veteran starter is presumably ready to put the injury issues behind him, as he's made just 11 regular-season starts since joining the Dodgers prior to the 2025 season. Across 61.1 innings last year, he posted a 2.35 ERA with 10.57 K/9, 3.82 BB/9, 0.44 HR/9, and a 48.7% ground ball rate.
It initially seemed like Snell would take Justin Wrobleski's spot in the rotation, but Wrobleski has been pitching so well that Emmet Sheehan (4.31 FIP) may end up being the odd man out.
Verdict: Top buy-low candidate ahead of his return. His missed time will likely allow you to acquire a potential SP2 at a great discount.
Abner Uribe, RP, Milwaukee Brewers
Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Abner Uribe is quickly taking control of the ninth inning and is a must-roster option as he continues to build momentum. Uribe has recorded three saves with a 3.65 ERA and 1.05 WHIP, while other late-inning option Trevor Megill has struggled to a 6.00 ERA. Uribe's 28 percent strikeout rate supports his ability to succeed in high-leverage situations.
This is his fourth season with Milwaukee, and he looks more comfortable than ever in late-game spots. The closer role is trending in his direction, and fantasy managers should act before it is fully locked in.
Verdict: Top buy-high target for those needing saves. Uribe is taking over the closer role and does not appear to be in much danger of losing it given his recent stretch of play.
Janson Junk, SP, Miami Marlins
Miami Marlins right-hander Janson Junk continued his strong stretch on Monday, allowing one run across 5 1/3 innings while giving up five hits and one walk with four strikeouts. Junk now holds a 2.82 ERA and 1.04 WHIP through seven starts this season. He has consistently filled the strike zone, which has helped him work deeper into games while keeping his pitch count under control.
In his second season with Miami, Junk is showing clear improvement and reliability. His recent performance points to continued success, making him a priority target for fantasy managers in need of pitching help.
Verdict: Sneaky buy option for those in deeper 14-team leagues needing depth at starting pitcher.
Other Players to Target in Trades
- Kyle Bradish, BAL
- Michael Busch, CHC
Players to Trade Away for Fantasy Baseball
Andy Pages, OF, Los Angeles Dodgers
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Andy Pages put together a monster performance in his team's 12-2 win over the Houston Astros on Wednesday, going three-for-five with three home runs and six RBI. The 25-year-old is off to an excellent start to the 2026 season, hitting .336/.376/.589 with eight home runs, 33 RBI, 22 runs scored, and six stolen bases.
Pages is currently tied for the MLB lead in RBI and should remain in a prime position to keep racking up counting stats while hitting in the heart of the potent Dodgers' lineup. He looks like an above-average contributor across all five traditional rotisserie categories early on this year.
Verdict: While Pages has enjoyed a dominant start to the season, his lower .367 xwOBA (in relation to his surface-level marks) suggests he is greatly overperforming his expected metrics. He is a solid OF3/OF4 but is emerging as a top sell-high candidate.
Josh Hader, RP, Houston Astros
Houston Astros closer Josh Hader (biceps) threw a scoreless inning with a walk and a strikeout in his rehab appearance with Triple-A Sugar Land on Tuesday. The 32-year-old is on the 60-day injured list due to a biceps injury, which means he is not eligible to make his return to Houston until late May. Still, it's a positive sign that Hader is taking steps in his progression back to the big leagues.
Hader was dominant for the Astros in 2025, pitching to a 2.05 ERA and 0.85 WHIP with 76 strikeouts and 28 saves across 52 2/3 innings. Houston has struggled to fill the closer role in Hader's absence, with right-hander Enyel De Los Santos currently leading the team with three saves. Upon his return, Hader should immediately re-assume the ninth-inning role for the Astros.
Verdict: Look to sell high once Hader is back from the injured list. His recent injury history makes him a risky candidate to roster and could still be sold for a high-end price tag, especially once he returns.
Brandon Woodruff, SP, Milwaukee Brewers
Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Brandon Woodruff (shoulder) had a minor procedure on Tuesday to drain fluid from his right shoulder, and he is tentatively set to resume throwing on Saturday, per Adam McCalvy of MLB.com. Manager Pat Murphy thinks that Woodruff will only need a couple of bullpen sessions before he rejoins the starting rotation.
The veteran hurler had a hands-on meeting with renowned Dr. Keith Meister on Tuesday, which was an ominous sign, but instead, Woodruff received positive news, and he could rejoin Milwaukee's starting rotation sooner rather than later. He was placed on the 15-day injured list last Friday after he couldn't get over 85 mph with his fastball in his last start. It's good news for the 33-year-old, but fantasy managers should still be skeptical, and we wouldn't recommend throwing Woodruff back into your starting lineups when he's activated from the IL to make his next start.
Remember, Woodruff had right-shoulder surgery that caused him to miss all of 2024, and he made only 12 starts last year due to various injuries, including a lat injury that ended his season early.
Verdict: Even though it appears Woodruff avoided a major injury, he is at high risk of a setback given his extensive injury and should hold high-end sell value once he returns to the bump sometime in May.
