Recent Update

9/18:Boston Red Sox outfielder Mookie Betts (thumb) is back in the starting lineup Monday, playing in right field and hitting cleanup against Orioles starter Dylan Bundy. Betts received a minor scare Sunday when he injured his thumb, but everything is alright. Get him back into all starting lineups. The do-it-all outfielder isn't as good as he was in 2016, but he's still pretty darn good.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

  • @PeteAbe: Mookie Betts is one of 10 players with at least 90 runs and 90 RBIs. But the only one without 30 HRs.
  • @alexspeier: Betts clears the bases and the Red Sox - down 5-0 and 6-1 in this game - lead, 7-6. Orioles pitching in 2017...
  • @PeteAbe: And damage Betts does. 3-run double to left and Benintendi, hair trailing in the wind, scores the go-ahead run.
  • @PeteAbe: Bradley’s dogged 9-pitch at-bat seemed to wear Bundy down and opened up the inning. Now Betts in a spot to do damage.
  • @IanMBrowne: First of 3 in Baltimore. Bogaerts, Pedroia 2B, Benintendi, Betts, Moreland, Vazquez DH, Devers, Leon, Bradley. Fister SP.

  • @PeteAbe: Mookie Betts thinks he’ll be ready to play tomorrow.
  • @PeteAbe: Betts has a bruised right thumb, Sox say. Day-to-day.
  • @PeteAbe: Rajai Davis now in RF. Betts is out. There was a collision at 1B in the 4th inning. Could be the cause.

  • @PeteAbe: Betts with HR No. 22 gives the Sox a 1-0 lead. With Yankees up, 7-0, Sox know what’s needed today.

  • @PeteAbe: For you style aficionados, Mookie Betts had on a Fear of God/New Era cap tonight, the red one.… https://t.co/GycIaDe4KS
  • @alexspeier: That 5-3 smash was the third straight ball Betts put in play with a 107 mph exit velocity, and his 4th of 100+ mph tonight.
  • @PeteAbe: Mookie Betts and Xander Bogaerts heating up at the same time would cure much of what ails the Sox inconsistent offense.
  • @alexspeier: Mookie Betts has 10 multi-HR games since the start of '15, the same number as Bryce Harper, Kris Bryant, Nelson Cruz, Josh Donaldson.
