Recent Update

7/2:The Kansas City Royals are giving Jorge Soler another go-around at the major league level, and he homered on Saturday. Soler was recently recalled from Triple-A to act as a fourth outfielder and backup designated hitter because Alex Gordon and Brandon Moss have been two of the worst offensive hitters in the majors this year. Since being recalled, he's gone 4-for-16 with one home run, one double, four RBIs, and two runs scored. The numbers aren't off the charts, but with Gordon and Moss both still hitting under the Mendoza Line, Soler should get quite a few opportunities. That said, Gordon is in the middle of a huge contract and Moss was brought in purely to DH, so unless Soler becomes an offensive monster, he'll still probably see a lot of bench time.--Billy Stonick - RotoBaller
