Trent Hendrick Remains Eligible Despite Recent Big Ten Ruling
UCLA transfer linebacker Trent Hendrick, who recently regained a fifth year of eligibility, remains eligible under Tuesday's Big Ten ruling. The Big Ten created a rule that prohibits players who have signed an NFL contract from playing in the conference this season. Given that Hendrick tried out with the Browns but did not receive a contract, he remains eligible. Hendrick was the Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Year at James Madison last season, leading the Dukes to the playoffs behind 106 total tackles, three sacks, and two forced fumbles. His eligibility is a huge win for the Bruins in Bob Chesney's first year as the head coach.
