Several NFL players underwhelmed in Week 14 of the 2025 fantasy football season. Andersen Pickard identifies busts at each position and if they'll bounce back.

Fantasy managers were trying to make the final push into the fantasy playoffs during Week 14 of the NFL season. Managers across leagues were looking for every point they could get this week, maximizing upside throughout their lineup. Some of these players were successful; others will not.

Most of the Week 14 fantasy football stress was caused by a group of players who drastically underperformed. These "busts" failed to meet their fantasy expectations in Week 14, and not only did it cost many managers their matchups, but it also cost some managers their shot at making the playoffs.

Let's take a look at the biggest busts from Week 14, as well as whether or not we can still have some trust in these players moving forward. All point totals are based on the PPR scoring system. Players who missed part of the game due to injury are exempt from being featured.

Fantasy Football Quarterback Busts

Patrick Mahomes, 9.3 FPTS

Mahomes had his worst game of the season on Sunday night, tossing three interceptions while failing to score a touchdown. He earned back some of his fantasy points with 59 rushing yards, but it wasn't nearly enough. He'll look to bounce back as a high-end QB1 against the Chargers in Week 15.

Fantasy Football Running Back Busts

Bhayshul Tuten, -0.5 FPTS

Tuten was temporarily sidelined to be evaluated for a concussion, but he returned to the contest and is therefore eligible for this list. The rookie had just two carries for five rushing yards, lost a fumble, and didn't command a target. He'll offer solid competition to Travis Etienne Jr. every week, but it's pretty clear that Etienne is the stronger running back and deserves to lead the backfield. Tuten is not worth starting as long as Etienne is healthy.

Chris Rodriguez Jr., 5.2 FPTS

Rodriguez rushed for 52 yards on 10 carries this Sunday. His efficiency was terrific, but his modest carry total and lack of involvement as a receiver cost him key fantasy points. He's still a fringe top-24 fantasy running back for Week 15 against the Giants, especially since he has three touchdowns over his last five games.

Kenneth Walker III, 3.8 FPTS

Walker took a backseat to Zach Charbonnet, rushing for just 29 yards on 10 carries. His lone catch went for a loss of a yard. It has become nearly impossible to predict when Walker will cede his role to Charbonnet, as it often occurs without any rhyme or reason. He's a risky low-end RB2 for Week 15 against the Colts.

Bam Knight, 6.4 FPTS

Knight had seven carries for 16 yards on Sunday, and he made his fantasy showing look a little more respectable with three catches for 18 receiving yards on six targets. He can be a mid-to-low RB2 for Week 15 against the Texans, but only if Trey Benson (knee) remains on injured reserve.

Breece Hall, 4.3 FPTS

Hall had 43 rushing yards on 14 carries this past Sunday, and he failed to haul in his lone target. The fourth-year back has been inconsistent in 2025, and a Week 15 matchup against the Jaguars won't do him any favors. He's a fringe top-12 fantasy running back going forward, and his value is highly dependent on carving out a role as a pass catcher.

Ashton Jeanty, 5.8 FPTS

Jeanty had just 10 carries for 30 rushing yards on Sunday, and he only caught two shorter passes. The rookie first-round pick can still bounce back as a low-end RB1 in Week 15, but a tougher matchup against the Eagles could make his life more difficult, especially if Philly jumps out to a multi-possession lead early on.

Fantasy Football Wide Receiver Busts

Rashee Rice, 7.4 FPTS

Rice caught four of his eight targets for 34 yards on Sunday. Kansas City's offense didn't get much moving against the Texans on Sunday Night Football, but Rice should bounce back as a high-end WR2 in Week 15 against the Chargers. That matchup seems to have the potential for plenty of scoring.

Davante Adams, 6.9 FPTS

Adams' incredible six-game touchdown streak came to an end as he caught four passes for 29 yards against the Cardinals. Puka Nacua and Blake Corum stole the show on offense, leaving very little attention for Adams. The veteran receiver should bounce back as a mid-range WR1 against the Lions in Week 15.

Adonai Mitchell, 3.4 FPTS

Mitchell came back down to earth on Sunday with just one 24-yard catch on six targets. He has exceeded 6.2 fantasy points just once in four games since joining the Jets. Managers should expect that Mitchell will continue to be a high-ceiling, low-floor fantasy receiver, making him tough to trust every week. At best, he's a low-end WR3/flex for Week 15 against the Jaguars.

DJ Moore, 0.6 FPTS

Moore failed to capitalize on his increased role with Rome Odunze (foot) sidelined. Instead, the veteran receiver caught just one pass for a loss of four yards. He has posted fewer than five fantasy points in four of his last five games, keeping him off the fantasy radar for the time being. Chicago hosts the Browns in Week 15.

Troy Franklin, 4.1 FPTS

Franklin underperformed for the second week in a row, tallying three catches and 11 yards. He took a backseat to both Courtland Sutton and Pat Bryant. On one hand, the Broncos have put together a very promising three-headed monster at wide receiver. On the other hand, it is becoming challenging to trust Franklin as anything more than a WR3/flex. He'll take on the Packers in Week 15.

Darnell Mooney, 1.6 FPTS

Mooney hauled in just one of his four targets for six yards on Sunday. The veteran receiver once again underperformed despite Drake London (knee) being sidelined. Mooney cannot be trusted in fantasy lineups as long as Kirk Cousins continues to quarterback Atlanta's offense.

Chris Olave, 6.0 FPTS

Olave caught three of his five targets for 30 yards. The Saints simply didn't need to throw much in their win over the Bucs, leading to reduced productivity for Olave and other New Orleans pass catchers. Quarterback Tyler Shough has been playing well lately, so Olave should have enough upside to rank as a low-end WR1 in Week 15 against the Panthers.

Emeka Egbuka, 3.5 FPTS

Egbuka caught two of his nine targets for 15 yards on Sunday. Baker Mayfield completed fewer than 50 percent of his passes in the Bucs' shocking loss to the Saints, and Egbuka's stats suffered as a result. The rookie has posted single-digit fantasy points in four consecutive weeks, but he's averaging an impressive 8.5 targets per game during that span. Given his target volume, he'll remain in the low-end WR2 tier for Week 15 against Atlanta.

Terry McLaurin, 7.1 FPTS

McLaurin caught three of his six targets for 41 yards on Sunday. The talented receiver was held in check while catching passes from a combination of Jayden Daniels (elbow) and Marcus Mariota. The Commanders were blanked by the Vikings, 31-0, making it difficult for McLaurin to contribute in fantasy football. Still, he's a talented pass catcher who should bounce back as a high-end WR2 in Week 15, especially if Daniels is healthy enough to play.

Deebo Samuel Sr., 6.7 FPTS

Samuel caught four of his six targets for 27 yards in the Commanders' ugly 31-0 loss to the Vikings. The veteran receiver caught passes from both Daniels and Mariota. Heading into Week 15, Samuel will have higher upside if Daniels is healthy enough to play. However, regardless of who is under center, he should be deployed as a high-end WR3 or low-end WR2 in fantasy football.

Justin Jefferson, 3.1 FPTS

Jefferson caught two of his four targets for 11 yards on Sunday. Minnesota made the positive switch from Max Brosmer to J.J. McCarthy, but it didn't have much of an effect on the Vikings' superstar receiver. He has 3.1 fantasy points or fewer in each of his last two games, giving him a lower floor and ceiling going forward. He'll be a fringe top-12 fantasy receiver for Week 15 against Dallas.

Fantasy Football Tight End Busts

Mark Andrews, 1.9 FPTS

Andrews took a backseat to Isaiah Likely, catching just one of his five targets for nine receiving yards. The veteran tight end has been difficult to predict all year long, but this is one of the first teams that he was clearly out-produced by Likely. Andrews should return to the mid-range TE1 tier in Week 15 as he takes on a comically poor Bengals defense, which allowed a league-high 31.8 points per game.

Dalton Schultz, 5.2 FPTS

Schultz caught three of his four targets for 22 yards in Week 14. He's a top-12 scoring tight end this season, but he has finished with 5.2 fantasy points or fewer in two of his last three games. The 29-year-old should bounce back in a favorable matchup against the Cardinals next week.

Tyler Warren, 3.7 FPTS

Warren caught just two of his six targets for 15 yards, and he also had a two-yard rush. The rookie saw his fantasy value decline massively after Daniel Jones (Achilles) was replaced by Riley Leonard. Jones is likely done for the season, putting a significant limit on Warren's upside going forward. He'll fall to the low-end TE1 range as Leonard adjusts to becoming an NFL starter.

Brenton Strange, 5.7 FPTS

Strange caught three of his six targets for 27 yards on Sunday. Trevor Lawrence found plenty of success spreading the ball around to his wide receivers, and he simply didn't need to rely on Strange as much this week. That could change on any given Sunday, so Strange should still be viewed as a low-end TE1 for Week 15 against the Jets.

Travis Kelce, 1.8 FPTS

Kelce delivered somewhat of a dud on Sunday, catching just one of his five targets. He is no longer Patrick Mahomes' flashiest and most reliable threat in the passing game. As a result, he has dipped to the low-end TE1 tier, and that's where he'll remain against the Chargers in Week 15.

Evan Engram, 2.8 FPTS

Engram caught just two passes for eight yards against the Raiders on Sunday. He took a backseat as Bo Nix distributed the ball to his wide receivers and fed R.J. Harvey a total of 23 touches. Engram remains outside the top 12 fantasy tight ends heading into Week 15 against the Packers.
