RotoBaller's MLB power rankings for all 30 teams at the beginning of June. Where does each MLB team stand in our latest power rankings for the 2026 season?

As we flip the calendar to June it's pretty clear who the best teams in the league are. The Braves, Dodgers, Rays and Yankees have been consistently good while the Brewers are showing they can win regardless of how much you doubt them after their offseason moves.

On the flipside, the bottom's really clear too. The Rockies have been joined by the Giants and Angels as consistent slackers this season. The Mets were a surprise too, but the fall off in Detroit has been astounding.

How are they all going to move forward with the rest of the season? And how are our middle teams stacking up? Find out in the latest edition of our MLB Power Rankings.

No. 30 - Colorado Rockies

Prior to this weekend against the Giants, the Rockies had been looking like they were really going through it. An 8-19 record in May (prior to Sunday's games) looks pretty rough, but the schedule has actually been pretty stout.

That's not going to make many Rockies fans feel better about having one of the worst records in the league, though. There should be better times ahead for the purple pinstripes but the schedule doesn't exactly lighten up for another few weeks.

No. 29 - San Francisco Giants

However Rockies fans feel about their season so far, Giants fans are certainly feeling worse. Not that they expected to be an ultra-competitive team this year but they at least were thinking they'd be close to their traditional .500 level.

Instead, they've been massively underachieving all season long and haven't found a way out. Casey Schmitt has been have a solid breakout season, but the rest of the offense has only added up to a 94 wRC+. The Giants are going to have to face the idea of a rebuild, but moving any of the contracts from their trio of vets (Rafael Devers, Matt Chapman, Willy Adames) may be tough given how they've performed this season.

No. 28 - Detroit Tigers

When J.Cole released "The Fall-Off" this year he may as well have been predicting the 2026 Detroit Tigers' season. Yikes, what a drop it's been. They're now in contention for the worst record in the majors and it all ties back to their ace Tarik Skubal hitting the IL.

When he was scratched before a start against Boston the Tigers were 18-17. They've gone 4-20 since then and it's only increased the likelihood that the back-to-back AL Cy Young winner is going to get traded before the deadline. After having so much promise for much of last season, this year is an absolute gut punch for Detroit.

No. 27 - Los Angeles Angels

Are we witnessing a bit of a resurgence in Anaheim? Maybe not quite, but the recent performance from the Angels has to be feeling like a welcome presence after such a poor start to the season. They're 6-2 over their last eight games (prior to Sunday's action) and look like a formidable opponent!

They survived a Zach Neto injury scare Saturday after a collision at the plate, so maybe this stretch of positivity can continue for the Halos. But with the wild card still a bit out of reach it may not stop the eventual trade deadline questions they're certain to face.

No. 26 - Kansas City Royals

Last week we highlighted just how good of a season that Bobby Witt Jr. is having and how he should be getting more credit for it in MVP discussions. Well, he's going to continue to get overlooked if the Royals keep playing this poorly.

Since May 10th they've gone 3-14 and are nosediving to the bottom of the American League. It's not as notable as what the Tigers have done since there weren't a ton of expectations for Kansas City heading into the season, but it's just as bad. There aren't many positive things happening with the Royals these days and that doesn't seem likely to change.

No. 25 - New York Mets

There may be no fanbase more excited to read about other franchises' demises than Mets fans. The Mets' fall-off has been highly publicized this season. And while other teams are starting to feel the unnerving pain of an incredibly underwhelming season, that pain isn't quite over in Queens.

A decent weekend performance against Miami is nice, but the schedule's about to get rough over the next couple weeks. They can at least revel in the performance of Juan Soto and his recently scorching hot bat, but they'll need more than just him to rattle off a respectable amount of wins over the next couple weeks.

No. 24 - Boston Red Sox

It might be hard to believe for Red Sox fans but there's still an outside shot at Boston grabbing a wild card spot in the American League. Thank some really weak competition for that possibility but it technically can still happen.

The path to it, though, just got murkier as their ace Garrett Crochet suffered a setback recently recovering from a shoulder injury that's kept him out since late April. Boston needs him in their rotation in order to be a threat, but winning without him is going to be much tougher than they'd like.

No. 23 - Miami Marlins

Remember last week's walk-off grand slam against the Mets? That seems like forever ago at this point. Miami struggled to get through this week against those same Mets and the Blue Jays. It's now gotten them to a spot where they're staring at the bottom of the NL East alongside the Mets.

The Marlins also now have quite the depleted rotation with Eury Perez hitting the IL and expecting to miss up to eight weeks. It's looking like Miami's the next team to go on a major downswing. Expect them to begin to consider who they'll want to trade as we head towards the trade deadline.

No. 22 - Minnesota Twins

Dreams of making a surprise run at the wild card aren't over yet in Minnesota because anything is possible in this version of the AL. But their struggles this week certainly didn't do them any favors. After losing their series against the White Sox and Pirates they're a couple games out of the wild card race.

May as a whole has been a very solid month for the Twins, especially with Byron Buxton driving so much offensive production. But there are still questions on if they'll try and make a serious run at the wild card. That's gotten catcher Ryan Jeffers apparently on the Yankees' radar as a trade target.

The Twins are playing decently, but they're going to have to play much better in order to avoid a sell-off at the deadline.

No. 21 - Houston Astros

Are the Astros finally starting to turn things around? Despite their constant injury debacles they've been able to rattle off wins in eight of their last 11 games prior to Sunday's action. They're within reach of the AL wild card and it seems like that's becoming a much more realistic possibility by the day.

Pitching has been their weakness this season but it's gotten a lot tighter over the past couple weeks. On top of that, Hunter Brown is continuing to work his way back in his rehab and could be back in the rotation at some point in June. The Astros have had a rough start but they're on the come up in the American League.

No. 20 - Cincinnati Reds

While the Reds find themselves in the midst of the wild card race, they may have quite a bit to worry about in terms of being able to keep up. May was not the most kind month to Cincinnati as their staff threw to a 5.57 ERA last month.

That's led to a 9-17 record, prior to Sunday's game against the Braves, and it's gotten them dropped to the bottom of the NL Central. They have some good offensive surprises, JJ Bleday in particular, but it hasn't been enough to overcome their very subpar pitching.

To make matters worse, Elly De La Cruz was forced to leave Sunday's game early with an apparent leg injury. If he's forced to miss time then it may be a huge roadblock for any potential success in Cincinnati.

No. 19 - Texas Rangers

After a 1-6 slide that held them back in both the AL West and AL wild card race, a nice sweep over the Royals may help get the Rangers back on track. Josh Jung and Joc Pederson have been the main offensive producers this week, combining for seven homers between the two.

They're going to need to keep things rolling, though, as the AL West is all of a sudden very competitive. Only 3.5 games separate the Mariners, A's, Rangers and Astros. That's cause for a very competitive division throughout the rest of the season. Texas can end up on top, but they need to be better than the league average numbers they posted in May for both hitting and pitching.

No. 18 - Baltimore Orioles

Don't look now but the Orioles may just be the hottest team in baseball. After a 9-5 win over the Blue Jays on Sunday, Baltimore's won seven of their last ten games and are starting to look like the team they envisioned in the offseason.

Pete Alonso crushed seven homers in May for a 129 wRC+, looking like a solid offseason addition. But it's been call-up Samuel Basallo who led the Orioles in May with a 158 wRC+. The offensive resurgence has helped give their pitching more chances and that's adding up to wins. Baltimore's back in the wild card race and could be a threat.

No. 17 - Athletics

Maybe the dreams of being an upstart surprise team in the American League are over. The A's have lost six of their last eight games and no longer find themselves leading the AL West. They're still in the thick of things in the wild card race, but in a subpar AL there's plenty of competition that can snag it from them if they start heating up.

The pitching staff's 4.56 ERA in May has been a huge detriment to any potential success for them. They've posted a 102 wRC+ on offense, which should get you a solid record, but they're 11-16 in May. That won't get it done regardless of how well Nick Kurtz is playing.

No. 16 - Toronto Blue Jays

Things in Toronto may feel a bit better if they had simply won one more game in Baltimore. They've been solid as of late, winning eight of their last 12 games, and they're sitting in a wild card spot. But it still feels like this team is a bit incomplete.

And maybe that's a very good thing! They haven't reached the levels they did last season and still are in the playoff hunt. As we've mentioned, thank a very weak AL for that, but they're doing what they need to do for the most part.

If Vladimir Guerrero Jr. can figure out how to hit a few more homers (just three on the season) then that's going to help the offense immensely.

No. 15 - Washington Nationals

Are we looking at a wild card team here? The Nationals just continue to find ways to win in games you wouldn't expect them to. They've won six of their last eight games and are within two games of a wild card spot.

The biggest question going forward will be their pitching. The staff pitched to a 4.16 ERA in May, which is much improved from their awful April. Their 4.30 xFIP says that ERA is pretty true, but which version of their staff is the actual version we'll see going forward? If it's the May squad then we're looking at a feisty underdog playing with house money.

No. 14 - Chicago White Sox

Another upstart wild card team, but in the American League, the White Sox have been one of the better stories in baseball. They've got a 3.5 game lead in the wild card and have won six of their last seven games. We've questioned whether they're real or not and they're certainly looking the part.

But their offensive prowess may be tested here shortly. Munetaka Murakami recently hit the 10-day IL with a hamstring strain and is expected to miss approximately 4-6 weeks. That's a big dent to the power in their lineup, but Chicago's still got quite a bit loaded up. If they can survive the next month without Murakami then they'll have a very legit shot at holding onto their wild card spot.

No. 13 - Pittsburgh Pirates

Clogged in the logjam of national league teams fighting for a wild card spot is Pittsburgh. The Pirates have been fighting to stay in the race while the NL Central is starting to look a little more out of reach.

One player that's helping Pittsburgh cause is Braxton Ashcraft. You know all about Paul Skenes but Ashcraft has quietly been one of the most under-the-radar pitchers in baseball. His 2.77 ERA leads the Pirates' starters and is certainly an unsung hero for the Pirates.

But there's still work to do. May was a solid month but they're going to have to be even better to be a real threat in the National League.

No. 12 - Philadelphia Phillies

The Phillies are still a couple games back of a wild card spot but there's a little more trust in them than some of the other contenders that are vying for that spot. Part of the reason there's more trust is their ace Zack Wheeler is looking just like his Cy Young self since returning to the rotation.

His 2.27 ERA would be a career best if he could keep it up throughout the season. That may seem like a high bar, but he's been right around a 2.80 mark for most of his time in Philly. So anything is possible.

Combine his performance with the scoreless May from southpaw Cristopher Sanchez and the Phillies have at least two days a week where they know their opponents will struggle to score. That's a solid recipe for a wild card appearance.

No. 11 - Seattle Mariners

Seattle is finally atop the AL West after two months of action. Julio Rodriguez has been a workhorse on the offensive side, posting a 164 wRC+ while blasting ten homers in May. That's really solid production while last year's superstar Cal Raleigh misses time with an oblique injury.

Another huge offensive contributor in May has been Luke Raley, whose 217 wRC+ led Seattle in May. Those two have been fantastic while the pitching side of things works to get it all straightened out.

The record needs to be better for me to get the Mariners into a solid spot in our top ten, but they're trending upwards.

No. 10 - Arizona Diamondbacks

Speaking of trending upwards, is there any team that is more up and down that the Diamondbacks? Arizona got themselves back into the wild card race by going 11-2 against the Rockies and Giants over the span of four series, but then got swept by the Mariners this weekend.

There's clearly a lot of talent here, especially on the offensive side of things. Ketel Marte and Corbin Carroll continue to make a very solid top of the lineup combo. But is the offense going to be enough to overcome their pitching woes against better opponents?

A testy week against the Dodgers and Nationals is sure to test just how good Arizona really is.

No. 9 - St. Louis Cardinals

The Cardinals have been looking like a really solid competitor for most of the season so far. They're fighting in the NL Central and hanging well with everyone but Milwaukee (who's running away with the division). And they're right in the thick of things in the wild card race too.

But a 3-7 record over their last ten games (prior to Sunday's nightcap against the Cubs) has hindered their ability to build a lead in the wild card race. It's going to take better performances from their offense to help a pretty solid rotation out and stack up more wins.

No. 8 - Chicago Cubs

Are we able to ignore the ten game losing streak quite yet? Winning three of four right after that is great, but we have to be concerned that a team of this caliber still found a way to lose ten straight games.

The offense has been a bit lackluster as has the pitching in May. It's just not a great formula for winning when neither side of the ball is overly dominant. When Chicago was seemingly lighting the world on fire it was because the offense was humming. But when it's not the pitching really becomes an issue.

Chicago should be on the lookout for pitching depth when the deadline approaches, but they'll need their current rotation to step it up in the meantime.

No. 7 - San Diego Padres

Have you heard? Fernando Tatis Jr. has finally hit his first home run of the season. A celebration is in order! Well, as long as you don't look at the recent results for the Padres.

They've lost six of their last seven games and now the NL West looks a bit out of reach. They had been running pretty closely with the Dodgers but this streak has essentially limited them to just the wild card race.

That's about where San Diego should be anyways, but this recent streak isn't going to give their fans much confidence. A tough series in Philadelphia opens their week and winning that series would go a long way in building back confidence.

No. 6 - Cleveland Guardians

The Guardians continue to be one of the league's more underrated teams at 34-27. As good as that looks, it could have been even better had they not just lost four of their last six games.

That's all well and good as they're still leading the AL Central, but the White Sox are right on their heels. And with a tough stretch coming up where they face the Yankees six times in their next nine games, there's not much room to slack.

No. 5 - New York Yankees

Speaking of those Yankees, they may just want to stay in Sacramento. Their offense totaled 25 runs over three games with a 13 run outburst in the third inning on Sunday. They were very clearly feeling the love at Sutter Health Park.

They've now won six of their last seven games and are 1.5 games back of the Rays in the East. They're making sure Tampa can't get too far away from them and will look to take control of the division here shortly.

No. 4 - Tampa Bay Rays

And here are those Rays. They're still controlling the AL East but a 2-5 slide has things tight between them and the Yankees again. The pitching has really slacked over the past weak and certainly has cost them.

Offensively they lacked a bit too outside of three main contributors (Yandy Diaz, Jonathan Aranda, Junior Caminero). Tampa needs a bit more of a full team effort to hold off the Yankees for a while longer.

No. 3 - Milwaukee Brewers

If you're hoping the Brewers are going to cool down a little bit soon (looking at you, Cubs and Cardinals fans) then don't get your hopes up. Milwaukee is cooking and has both Colorado and San Francisco on deck.

They've had sublime pitching in the month of May, posting a 2.62 ERA that's added up to a 19-7 record in the month. It's been a full team effort and they are cruising through the competition.

Look out if they're coming up on your schedule.

No. 2- Los Angeles Dodgers

Remember when it seemed like the Dodgers were struggling? It feels like ages ago when they had lost the first two of a four game series against the Giants. Since then they've gone 14-3 and have taken a commanding lead in the NL West.

Shohei Ohtani is still continuing to do Shohei Ohtani things by pitching to a 1.08 ERA in May to go along with a 155 wRC+ at the plate. He's the NL MVP favorite for a reason and the Dodgers are simply happy he's on their side.

No. 1 - Atlanta Braves

Back in the top spot is the Atlanta Braves. They've got the best record in the majors and have a very commanding lead in the NL East. It's practically a lock for them to win it at this point.

Ronald Acuna Jr. went on an absolute heater this past week as he hit six homers in six games. The lineup absolutely needed that power from the right side of the plate, especially since Drake Baldwin has hit the IL. The former MVP is cruising as the Braves look to continue as the top team in our rankings.
