Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Hitters for HR, SB, RBI, AVG, Runs (Week 24)

Dylan Crews - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Mike's fantasy baseball category boosters waiver wire hitters to add. He goes category by category and picks out hitters for HR, RBI, SB, AVG, and runs for Week 24 (2024).

Welcome back to our fantasy baseball waiver wire hitter category boosters for Week 24 of the 2024 MLB season -- free-agent hitters to consider adding to help boost your team in HR, SB, RBI, AVG, and runs. Today, we'll look at names like Brendan Rodgers, Mickey Moniak, and Dylan Crews.

We are in the nitty gritty of the fantasy baseball season right now, where a couple of stolen bases or runs could make the difference between winning first place and finishing as an also-ran in a league. We are running out of season and running out of free-agent acquisition time. These could be crucial pickups for you in your leagues.

We give you hitters by each offensive category. I aim to give you the top options every week for each of the five offensive categories. All hitters will be under 50% rostered on Yahoo! and listed in order of rostership and my preference. Bargains abound if we know where to look for them. Let's dive in and take a look.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball draft tools and resources:

Runs Scored (R) - Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Boosters

Masyn Winn, St. Louis Cardinals (44% rostered)

I am going to keep putting him in here until you take him. He has put together a fine rookie season: .279, 12 home runs, 49 RBI, 10 stolen bases, and 69 runs scored. Winn has scored nine runs in his last 1o games. Give him a look if you need some runs scored; he gets one almost every day.

Brendan Rodgers, Colorado Rockies (22% rostered)

We keep waiting for the breakout, but even what we get right now is pretty good. Rodgers is quietly putting together a nice year, with 13 home runs, 50 RBI, one stolen base, and 59 runs scored with a .278 batting average. Rodgers has scored six runs in the last week and homered thrice. If you are looking for help at the keystone, Rodgers could be your guy.

Jacob Young, Washington Nationals (17% rostered)

Young continues to play every day for the Nationals, and while he only has three home runs, he has 31 stolen bases and 70 runs scored on the season. Over his last nine games, Young has scored eight runs. He's a helpful player in the right context. He is only one of 1o players to steal 30 bases this season, too. Consider him if you need runs and stolen bases.

Home Runs (HR) - Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Boosters

Spencer Torkelson, Detroit Tigers (48% rostered)

This is a pure play for power as you won't get anything else. He has hit four home runs since his recall from Triple-A two weeks ago.

Shea Langeliers, Oakland Athletics (45% rostered)

The veteran catcher has three home runs this week, and rostering him means you are looking for power. In 454 plate appearances, Langeliers has 25 home runs and 68 RBI and has also chipped in with four stolen bases and 50 runs scored. You are looking for power here; the batting average is paltry .223.

He seems well on his way to 30 homers and should be rostered far more often than he is in Yahoo leagues. Langeliers is starting to be able to hit breaking pitches and offspeed pitches out of the park more this year; see the chart below.

JJ Bleday, Oakland Athletics (39% rostered)

Staying in Oakland for power, let's take a look at Bleday. He's hitting .247 with 20 home runs, 54 RBI, a stolen base, and 69 runs scored in his second big league season. Taking a wider view, Bleday had seven home runs in August and was hitting .314 in his last eight starts going back to last week. Bleday could easily help you with home runs down the stretch.

Runs Batted In (RBI) - Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Boosters

Josh Bell, Arizona Diamondbacks (43% rostered)

Bell has done an admirable job filling in for the injured Christian Walker, who returned this week from his oblique injury. I think Bell will continue to get at-bats at the designated hitter spot while Walker returns to first base. Bell has six RBI over the last six games and is now hitting .246 with 18 home runs, 65 RBI and 56 runs scored.

Bell is a great example of a hyped player who gets forgotten about because he's not what everyone thinks he should be, yet he is a fine player and someone who can help you in the stretch run depending on your team context.

Mickey Moniak, Los Angeles Angels (5% rostered)

The veteran Moniak has been hot lately and is flying under the radar in Los Angeles. Injuries have allowed him an opportunity, and he has taken advantage with five home runs and 10 RBI in his last seven games. Fantasy players will start adding him in the coming days, and you should if you are looking for home runs and RBI at this point of the season.

Randal Grichuk, Arizona Diamondbacks (3% rostered)

It seems like every year Grichuk goes on a hot streak and he is on a heater right now. He has four home runs and nine RBI over the last five games, while also scoring eight runs. With Lourdes Gurriel Jr. going on the 10-day injured list with a calf injury, Grichuk might be playing daily for a contending Diamondbacks club.

He is up to a .284 batting average, eight home runs, 34 RBI, and 32 runs scored.  Get him into your lineups this week. The box below resembles a video game stat line.

Stolen Bases (SB) - Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Boosters

Dylan Crews, Washington Nationals (43% rostered)

I am surprised there has not been more hype around Crews being recalled as he is already making solid contributions in every offensive category. In only seven games, he already has two home runs, three RBI, two steals, and three runs scored. You don't need that? I do. I added him everywhere I could get him.

Crews is hitting at the top of a good lineup in Washington and should merit strong consideration for your roster in most leagues. He should be rostered far more.

Tommy Edman, Los Angeles Dodgers (42% rostered)

Edman is finally starting to look comfortable at the plate and we know when he gets on base, he is a threat to steal bases in bunches. He has three in 14 games played so far and is playing daily with a batting average of .264.

The positional eligibility at second base, shortstop, and outfield makes him even more valuable. I'm honestly surprised Edman is not on more rosters already.

Victor Robles, Seattle Mariners (12% rostered)

Robles was hot, then cooled off, then missed a week of games. But since August 27, the veteran outfielder has four stolen bases to run his season total to 22 in only 72 games. Add in that Robles is hitting .299 since his return and the fact that he can lead off, and you have the potential to cash in on some stolen bases this month.

Batting Average (AVG) - Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Boosters

Connor Norby, Miami Marlins (50% rostered)

Norby has put together a nice stretch since coming to Miami. In 13 games covering 52 at-bats, Norby is hitting .327 with three home runs, six RBI, and two stolen bases. That's pretty impressive and he's doing quietly for a rebuilding Miami team. He also has eligibility at both second and third base. A good pickup and he's available in half of Yahoo leagues.

Seth Brown, Oakland Athletics (8% rostered)

All he has done is hit since he came back to the major leagues. Brown has first base and outfield eligibility and has multi-hit games in five of his last seven games, hitting .407 over that span, including .320 since his recall in mid-July. He's also chipped in with 13 home runs, 40 RBI, and four stolen bases this season.

Brown is useful on many fantasy rosters. I copied Brown's stats from August and early September here, and you can see how valuable he has been to astute fantasy players.

Santiago Espinal, Cincinnati Reds (4% rostered)

Raise your hand if you knew that Espinal is hitting a robust .398 since the All-Star break (we know you know, Doug Dennis). The veteran is hot and plays daily at three positions: second base, third base, and shortstop. He's now been playing third base since Noelvi Marte has struggled mightily since his return from suspension, and Espinal has also registered counting stats: nine home runs, nine stolen bases, 29 runs, and is hitting a solid .270.

If you need batting average help with some other things sprinkled here, consider Espinal.

I hope this helps you out! Good luck and happy hunting, RotoBallers! You can always message me @mdrc0508 on X to complain about picks or make other suggestions!
