Is Mike Evans A Free Agent In 2024? Which Team Will Sign Evans In The Offseason?

Mike Evans - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Is Mike Evans a free agent in 2024? Which teams are favorites to land Evans if he leaves the Buccaneers? Read the 2024 NFL free agency outlook.

Many Buccaneers fans were scared that Mike Evans' 1000-yard season streak would come to an end in 2023. The team had moved on from the greatest quarterback in NFL history, Tom Brady, to Baker Mayfield, who had gone through two disappointing seasons before this.

However, Mayfield and Evans proved everyone wrong and had a season to remember, winning the NFC South once again as Evans led the league in touchdown receptions alongside Tyreek Hill.

Now, the Bucs need to answer this question in the offseason: Can they bring the gang back for another run?

Editor's Note: The FFPC Baby Gorilla Tournament is now open, featuring a $100,000 grand prize and a $675,450 total prize pool! Is Mike Evans a Free Agent in 2024?

Mike Evans' contract is set to expire in the offseason, and the Bucs need to make some difficult decisions in the offseason. Their three most important players (Evans, Mayfield, and Antoine Winfield Jr.) are all who they badly need to re-sign.

The Bucs could use the franchise tag on Evans for a one-year, $21.6 million deal if the two sides can't reach a long-term deal. Evans will be 31 next season and his age could scare some potential suitors seeing how WRs fall off in their 30s, but then again, Evans has aged like a fine wine so far, so it's a tough decision.

Which Team Will Sign Evans in the Offseason?

The Bucs' top priority in the offseason should be to re-sign Winfield Jr. due to his age and enormous potential. After that, they can go and hold talks with Mayfield and Evans. The Bucs have expressed that they want both to return, and chances are if one gets re-signed, the other won't be too far behind.

Mayfield and former Bucs/Patriots star Rob Gronkowski have both said that they want Evans to be a Buc for life, so it's safe to assume that he'll return to Tampa Bay alongside Mayfield in the offseason. If that doesn't happen, however, there are some teams he could join like the Texans, Bears, Cardinals, and Chiefs.

Evans is from Texas, so the Texans are a natural fit, while the Bears and the Cardinals need a star wideout like Evans to take their squad to the next level. The Chiefs could also break the internet if they could somehow land the man who beat them in Super Bowl LV. Ultimately, his fantasy value should be at his highest if he stays with the team that he has called home for the last 10 seasons.
