Week 8 fantasy football waiver wire pickups for Chris Godwin, Kendrick Bourne, Tre Tucker in 2025. Read their waiver wire outlooks for fantasy football.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin (fibula), San Francisco 49ers wideout Kendrick Bourne, and Las Vegas Raiders WR Tre Tucker have all seen their production affected by injuries to them or their teammates.
This time of year, that's a common trope for waiver pickups. Injuries are one of the most important factors for how players score fantasy points and how much they scores.
In the case of Godwin, he's dealing with injury issues. Tucker and Bourne have seen more work due to injuries to their teammates. But should you grab any of them on waivers? Let's dive in.

Chris Godwin Week 8 Waiver Wire Pickups
Rostered: 69% of Leagues
Baller Move: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
Godwin missed the first three weeks of the season due to a dislocated ankle that prematurely ended his dominant 2024 campaign. He returned to play and participated in his team's Week 4 and Week 5 contests. But he picked up a fibula injury that knocked him out of Week 6 and Week 7.
It looks like he might not be taking the field in Week 8, either. Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles didn't express confidence that he'd play in Sunday's contest against the New Orleans Saints. Tampa Bay's bye week is just a week later.
Bowles says Chris Godwin and Bucky Irving are "getting better" but didn't know whether either are in play to return to practice this week with a short week before Saints and a bye after that.

Godwin is being held on to in most leagues, but if you're in a 12-team league and he was dropped, it's worth picking him up. With Buccaneers WR1 Mike Evans (concussion, clavicle) likely to miss the rest of the regular season, Godwin could become a must-start WR in fantasy once again when he gets healthy.
Kendrick Bourne Week 8 Waiver Wire Pickups
Rostered: 73% of Leagues
Baller Move: Don't Add
Bourne is likely rostered in nearly every league in which it's worth having him in. But as the 49ers WR corps gets healthier, his value should continue to fall. And with quarterback Brock Purdy (toe) likely to return to play within the next two weeks, his value could fall even further.
He was essentially a non-factor in Week 8 -- he caught just two passes for 14 yards and didn't score a touchdown, finishing with a paltry 3.4 PPR fantasy points. This came after scoring 24.2 and 19.2 in his previous two games.

The Atlanta Falcons, San Francisco's opponent in Week 8, was much tougher than their previous two on defense. The 49ers will face the Houston Texans in Week 9, and they also have a very strong defense. It might not be wise to use a waiver claim on Bourne.
Tre Tucker Week 8 Waiver Wire Pickups
Rostered: 62% of Leagues
Baller Move: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
Tucker's playing time has mostly remained consistent throughout this season. Last week, tight end Brock Bowers (knee) and wide receiver Jakobi Meyers (knee, toe), both key pass-catchers in the Raiders offense, were out with injuries.
Tucker still logged right around 90 percent of offensive snaps, and caught five of his six targets for 33 yards. It was a pass-heavy game script in a blowout loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Tucker's massive 40.9 PPR fantasy point game in Week 3 has yet to be repeated, but he's at least averaging right around 10 points per game since.

2. Tre Tucker
3. Ja'Lynn Polk
4. David Njoku
T-5. Dalton Schultz
T-6. Johnathan MingoKelce was especially horrible at the catch point. He's pretty much completely washed. I'd avoid in fantasy. pic.twitter.com/cpmtMgyMPt

Based on his advanced metrics, and the awful play of Raiders quarterback Geno Smith, I don't see a reason to waste a waiver claim on the third-year pro unless you're in a deep league.
