Welcome back to our top starting pitcher fantasy baseball prospects to stash for Week 14 of the 2026 MLB season. Promotions were quiet over the past week outside of the Brewers, opting to promote one of their top infielders, Cooper Pratt, to the big leagues.
This week, we will look at my updated top-5 pitching prospects to stash, along with a handful of honorable mentions. We have a new name sliding into the top-5 who has been turning the corner at Triple-A.

Kade Anderson, Seattle Mariners
Currently at Double-A
Despite remaining two stops away from the majors and with a hard short-term path to the big league bump, Anderson remains the clear No. 1-pitching prospect to stash. The former No. 3 overall pick has done nothing but impress since making his professional debut at the start of the 2026 regular season. After joining the Marines out of LSU, the team opted to send him immediately to Double-A, which has kept the door open for a 2026 debut.
Throughout his first 12 professional starts, the southpaw has been near-perfect, posting a 1.02 ERA and a 0.65 WHIP. During this incredible stretch, the left-hander has struck out 90 hitters while walking just eight. Additionally, even though his ratios are dominant on the surface, he had one poor outing that "inflated" them.
On May 15, the former College World Series Champion served up a season-worst five runs to North West Arkansas. However, removing this contest from his stat line, the left-hander would hold a 0.31 ERA over 57 2/3 innings. Over these selected 11 starts, he did not allow a run in all but two of them.
Despite his dominance and clear readiness for the majors, the Mariners do not have an open spot for him. Currently, on the MLB roster, the Mariners have a surplus of capable starting pitchers, which has led them to adopt a rotating "piggyback" role to keep all six thoroughly involved over the first half.
While Logan Gilbert, Bryan Woo, and Bryce Miller have done their part, George Kirby, Luis Castillo, and Emerson Hancock have been far from reliable. Castillo holds a 4.61 xERA under the hood and has posted a 4.21 ERA since May 9 (his last 36 1/3 innings). Hancock was enjoying a stellar start to the season, but has allowed 11 runs over the last two innings.
Kirby carries a modest 4.10 ERA on the surface, but his 3.64 xERA suggests better days could be ahead.
Nonetheless, if Anderson maintains this pace, and Castillo and Hancock continue to stumble, it won't take long for the team to alter its plans to ensure they remain afloat in the Wild Card race. This is a team that wants to compete in October, and when it comes to crunch time, Anderson will be in the starting rotation.
There is not a single pitcher on the waiver wire who has the upside that Anderson possesses on a per-start basis. Do not wait much longer to pick him up.
Kade Anderson had everything working tonight. Final line: 6IP, 2H, 0R, 1BB, 8K, 12 whiffs, 70 pitches, 50 strikes.

River Ryan, Los Angeles Dodgers
Currently at Triple-A
Moving down to the No. 2 spot is River Ryan of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Even though the right-hander does have a clear path (on paper) to the MLB roster, the Dodgers have kept him at Triple-A, which signals he still needs further development at this level. Ryan made his MLB debut back in the 2024 season but ultimately missed all of 2025 after undergoing Tommy John surgery.
Over his brief first look at the big leagues, the 27-year-old looked comfortable, carrying a solid 1.33 ERA with a 1.18 WHIP. He only struck out 18 hitters over a short 20 1/3 innings stint, but generated a stellar 27.8% hard-hit rate. After missing all of 2025, Ryan reported to spring training at full strength but was ultimately sent back to Oklahoma City.
While on a short stint on the 7-day IL due to a hamstring injury that limited his early-season production, Ryan quickly returned to the Triple-A bump and was once again showcasing his raw talent. From May 15 through June 10, Ryan posted a sharp 2.16 ERA with a 1.00 WHIP over 25 innings of work. During this stretch, Ryan struck out 30 hitters while walking just five.
However, the right-hand took a massive step back on June 17, allowing a season-worst 10 hits and eight runs to Sacramento.
While his short-term stock may have taken a hit, Ryan remains firmly on the stash radar. Currently, Blake Snell and Tyler Glasnow are both on the MLB injured list and are not close to returning. The Dodgers have turned to veteran Eric Lauer in the short-term, but his looming 5.34 xERA suggests a step back is expected.
Additionally, young right-hander Emmet Sheehan is coming off his worst game of the season (six earned runs) and now sports a modest 5.52 ERA on the campaign. There is a path for Ryan, which keeps him as a top stash target in 12+ team leagues.

Karson Milbrandt, Miami Marlins
Currently at Triple-A
After sitting towards the bottom of our list for much of June, Milbrandt has pushed himself into the top-3 and is now firmly on the stash radar for those in 12-team leagues with N/A spots. Milbrandt began the regular season at the Double-A level, but flashed elite upside and has been quickly bumped up to Triple-A Jacksonville, where he has looked just as sharp.
With Double-A, Milbrandt logged 47 innings of work to the tune of a 1.34 ERA with a stellar 1.00 WHIP. During this nine-start stint, Milbrandt racked up 70 punchouts while walking 17 hitters. This stellar showing pushed him up to Jacksonville much sooner than expected, where he continued to enjoy the same success.
Over his first three starts at the top club, Milbrandt has logged 15 innings with a 1.20 ERA but has seen his WHIP climb to a modest 1.27. During this stretch, Milbrandt has seen his command take a step back (swinging 11 hitters) but has maintained his swing-and-miss profile, totaling 15. It will take some time for Milbrandt to adjust to Triple-A, but seeing him rack up seven punchouts in back-to-back starts is promising.
If the No. 5-ranked prospect in the team's system can see his command improve, he may make a push to slide into the No 2 spot on our rankings.
The other major reason to keep an eye on Milbrandt ahead of Week 14 is his path to the major leagues. Unlike Anderson, Milbrandt not only has a path to join the system, but is the clear top option "waiting in the wings." At the start of the season, Milbrandt was viewed as the distant No. 3 option in Miami's deep pitching system, which includes Robby Snelling and Thomas White.
Both pitchers are among the best in the minor leagues, with Snelling actually earning the call earlier this season. However, both would suffer serious injuries and are now on the shelf and slated to miss the remainder of the campaign. This has allowed Milbrandt not only to move up to Jacksonville but also to have a clear path to a second-half debut.
While managers should not expect a call-up ahead of the All-Star break, if the top-100-ranked prospect can continue to maintain his high-end strikeout profile while limiting his walks, he should be in a great position to join the Marlins in the second half.

Quinn Mathews, St. Louis Cardinals
Currently at Triple-A
Quinn Mathews entered the top-5 last week and remains firmly on the stat's radar ahead of Week 14 of the fantasy baseball season. During the 2024 campaign, Mathews made a strong case to be viewed as a top pitching prospect as he progressed through the Cardinals system at a rapid rate. He began the season with Low-A but finished his season at Triple-A.
Overall, he logged a hefty 143 1/3 innings to the tune of a 2.76 ERA, 0.98 WHIP, and a 202:49 K:BB. While a 2025 debut seemed all but certain, he took a massive step back as injuries limited him to just 99 innings of work.
As a result, the Stanford product's fantasy stock was at an all-time low ahead of spring training. As expected, the Cardinals opted for Mathews to be sent to Triple-A Memphis to begin his 2026 campaign. Like the previous season, Mathews endured even more struggles, allowing a high 25 runs (22 earned) over his first 35 2/3 innings.
However, since this rough skid, Mathews has looked far more like his 2024 self. Over his last 25 innings (five starts), the southpaw has struck out 32 hitters while posting an elite 1.80 ERA and a 0.88 WHIP. While his command still remains an issue (4.3 BB/9), he has improved in relation to the hefty 7.6 BB/9 he posted over that rough stretch to begin the season.
Currently, there is no clear role on the MLB roster for Mathews, as Andre Pallante and Michael McGreevy have enjoyed strong starts this season. While their No. 5 option, Kyle Leahy, could provide an opening, the Cardinals will likely opt to keep the 25-year-old at Triple-A until he is fully ready for the major leagues.
If he can string together a handful of more impressive showings, a post-All-Star break call-up will be in play.

Owen Murphy, Atlanta Braves
Currently at Triple-A
Rounding out this edition will be a new name. While Carlos Lagrange remains a worthy target for those in saves+holds leagues, Owen Murphy is seeing his value surge in standard leagues. Murphy is currently listed as the No. 5-ranked prospect in the Braves system and was recently bumped up to Triple-A.
He opened the regular season with Double-A, where he logged 20 2/3 innings with a rough 6.10 ERA. However, the Braves believed he was ready to face the top hitters in the minor leagues, and he has mostly held his own over his first look.
Through his first nine starts at Gwinnett, the right-hander has posted a 4.25 ERA and 1.15 WHIP with a 53:17 K:BB. However, it is worth noting that Murphy is coming off two os his best starts at this level.
Since serving up four runs to Norfolk back on June 7, Murphy has logged at least six innings in back-to-back starts while striking out 16 hitters (in 12 innings) with a 2.25 ERA and a sharp 0.83 WHIP.
Additionally, given Atlanta's current rotation, Murphy could be in the mix to debut in a similar timeline as Milbrandt and Mathews. With Spencer Strider recently moving to the 60-day IL, the Braves turned to top prospect JR Ritchie and kept veterans Martin Perez and Grant Holmes in the starting rotation. While Perez's 2.78 ERA suggests he is holding his own, the underlying 3.91 xERA suggests regression is coming.
Additionally, Ritchie has endured some growing pains himself in the big leagues, carrying a 4.87 ERA over his first 40 2/3 innings.
Managers in deeper leagues should continue to monitor his production at Triple-A. If he continues to enjoy this success, he should be in serious contention to join an undermanned pitching staff.
