Should I pickup Tyler Badie or Jaleel McLaughlin as fantasy football waiver wire pickups for Week 11 of 2025? Read our fantasy football waiver wire outlooks.
Denver Broncos running back J.K. Dobbins (foot) is dealing with a foot injury, and the most recent news that's come out hasn't been positive. While he's been seeking second opinions on the aliment, it appears that he's a candidate for injured reserve.
This late in the season, it means we might not see him at all again in 2025, though that remains to be seen. If he's placed on IR, he'll miss at least four games, and with the Broncos bye week coming up in Week 12, that means he wouldn't be eligible to return until Week 16.
That means for the next five weeks, Broncos running backs RJ Harvey, Tyler Badie, and Jaleel McLaughlin will hold extra value. Obviously, with Harvey rostered in 78% of Sleeper leagues, you probably won't be able to get your hands on him for free. But should you add Badie or McLaughlin from waivers or free agency?

Tyler Badie Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Outlook
So far, Badie's been used pretty much exclusively as a passing down back. While that's been annoying for fantasy managers who've rostered Harvey this season, as it's eaten into his snaps, but Badie really hasn't had much of a rushing workload.
It doesn't seem like his role will change much moving forward. He's run the ball a total of two times this season despite playing between 17 and 26 percent of the offensive snaps in seven of nine games. He's been targeted 18 times, though, catching ten passes for 87 yards, far more than his nine rushing yards.

It's interesting because Harvey has actually been a pretty good pass-catcher. Badie legitimately has some juice out of the backfield running routes, though. Harvey in the Dobbins role while Badie takes most, if not all, of the passing down work would make sense.
That's likely to be relevant in very deep PPR leagues. Perhaps you're in a PPR superflex league, or one with three flex spots in the starting lineup. In those, you might consider adding Badie, but in 12-team leagues, he might not quite have the upside needed. We'll still need to see how Broncos head coach Sean Payton doles out the work.
Jaleel McLaughlin Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Outlook
The selection of Harvey in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft relegated McLaughlin to the role of basically not playing at all. This season, he's played 10 percent of offensive snaps in just one game, logging one carry for no gain.
It doesn't appear that Payton was very happy with McLaughlin's production last season, which could explain his near-complete lack of usage. It was likely a big factor in them selecting Harvey and signing Dobbins -- their backfield last season was among the worst in the NFL.

He had a short stretch of fantasy relevance in 2023, and showed off his shiftiness and quickness. But he weighs under 190 pounds, and we usually don't see RBs like that get significant roles because they lack the size to take on linebackers and power through tacklers. There are exceptions, but they're usually elite athletes, like Miami Dolphins RB De'Von Achane.
Should I Pickup Tyler Badie or Jaleel McLaughlin For Fantasy Football?
If you're in a deep PPR league, it at least makes sense to stash Badie for now and hope he takes the lion's share of the passing down work. It's hard to imagine McLaughlin in anything other than a change-of-pace role right now, as indicated by his lack of usage.
The hope for Badie is actually that Harvey sees less work on passing downs. In his last four contests, the rookie has been targeted 11 times, catching nine passes for 67 yards and three touchdowns, while Badie has snagged just two passes for six yards.

Harvey has flashed excellent athleticism as a rusher, but he's been much more productive running to the outside. Dobbins, listed at 212 pounds and still quite shifty, was the ideal choice for running in between the tackles. Badie and McLaughlin are both smaller than Harvey, though none possess the ideal size for a plodder.
The upside case for Badie just isn't that easy to make. You're hoping Payton decides to get him more touches for whatever reason. Perhaps to spell Harvey more, maybe because he wants to look like a genius, who knows. But he's a low-upside deep-league stash for now.
