Fantasy Football Injury Report for NFL WRs: Preseason Updates on Drake London, Jameson Williams, N'Keal Harry, Jakeem Grant

Drake London fantasy football rankings rookies draft sleepers NFL draft

Fantasy football injury updates and NFL injuries reports for wide receivers for preseason Week 1 (August 15th) including Drake London, Jameson Williams, N'Keal Harry.

Below you will find our latest fantasy football injuries report for wide receivers throughout the second week of August.

As the NFL preseason continues, the injury statuses remain murky for various NFL receivers, including Drake London, Jameson Williams, N'Keal Harry, and Jakeem Grant. With peak fantasy football draft season soon approaching, these are some key wide receiver injuries to keep tabs on.

Don't forget to bookmark our NFL News Desk for all the latest updates throughout the preseason.

Drake London Injury Update

Atlanta Falcons first-round pick Drake London hauled in his lone target for an impressive gain during Friday's preseason opener against the Detroit Lions, then immediately exited the game with a knee injury.

The Falcons ruled him out quickly, prompting some concern about the severity of his injury, but fans were able to breathe a sigh of relief when he was walking around the sideline.

After the game, head coach Arthur Smith confirmed that London suffered a knee injury. He didn't have full details on the ailment since the team was still conducting tests, but a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter that "it is not a serious injury." Presumably, the team will approach the next few days with caution, making sure not to push London too hard so that he can be ready for Week 1.

London and tight end Kyle Pitts are expected to be the alphas in Atlanta's offense this coming season after star receiver Calvin Ridley was suspended for all 17 games. London, a USC product, currently sports an ADP of 91.

Given his role and athleticism, he should be viewed as a mid-range WR3 option with tremendous upside in his rookie campaign.

Jameson Williams Injury Update

Detroit Lions rookie wide receiver Jameson Williams (ACL) has officially been ruled out for Week 1, and the team has yet to put a timetable on his return. General manager Brad Holmes told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler that the team is "going to be very smart with him" and that "he's in a good place right now."

The Lions traded up to No. 12 to select Williams, a star out of Alabama, in this year's draft. He tore his ACL in the college playoffs, but Detroit still believes that he can return to his dominant form and be a star in their offense.

Upon his return, he'll presumably complement Amon-Ra St. Brown, forming a young and mighty one-two punch. In the meantime, DJ Chark will slot in at No. 2 while Quintez Cephus, Josh Reynolds, and Kalif Raymond compete for additional reps.

With no clear timetable, there is some concern that Williams could be out until at least November. The situation is certainly murky, and as a result, he has a low ADP of 158. Williams has WR3 upside once he returns, but until then, he'll have to be stashed on your bench or IR.

N'Keal Harry Injury Update

Chicago Bears wide receiver N'Keal Harry suffered a high-ankle sprain and recently underwent tightrope surgery. NFL.com's Mike Garafolo reports that Harry will be sidelined for eight weeks, delaying his return until roughly Week 5 against the Minnesota Vikings.

The Bears traded for Harry after the first-round pick produced three drastically underwhelming seasons in New England. Chicago was able to acquire him for a relatively cheap price, slotting him into a receiving corps that desperately needed more bodies.

Prior to his injury, Harry was expected to compete with ex-Chief Byron Pringle and rookie Velus Jones Jr. for the No. 2 role behind Darnell Mooney. Instead, it'll be an alignment of Mooney-Pringle-Jones atop the Bears' depth chart, at least until Harry returns.

Harry's injury dropped his ADP to 288, which equates to WR163. If you're playing in a super deep league, Harry could be worth drafting in hopes that he can climb back to No. 2 in the Chicago offense. However, he's not someone you should be rushing to stash.

Jakeem Grant Injury Update

Cleveland Browns wide receiver and star returner Jakeem Grant tore his Achilles on Tuesday and is expected to miss the entire 2022 season. This is brutal news for Cleveland and Grant, who has worked hard to become one of the best special teamers in the NFL.

Grant has been named a two-time All-Pro and one-time Pro Bowler thanks to his brilliant returning skills. Through four games with Miami and 11 games with Chicago last season, he returned 26 punts for 309 yards and a touchdown. He also turned 23 kick returns into an additional 539 yards.

Although Grant's allure is on special teams, he also offers depth at wide receiver. Just last year, he filled a gadget role for a young Chicago offense desperately in need of a spark, catching nine passes for 139 yards and two touchdowns. He also picked up 33 yards on five touches out of the backfield.

With Grant sidelined, Demetric Felton Jr. will handle return duties for the Browns. The injury also indicates that Anthony Schwartz and David Bell will see meaningful snaps at wide receiver.
