Fantasy Baseball Hitter Risers
Zack Gelof, 2B/3B/OF, Athletics
Zack Gelof is one of several Athletics who have been tearing it up lately. Over the previous two weeks, he has been slashing .354/.415/.750 with five HR, nine RBI, 15 R, and two SB. Truth be told, he has actually been about this hot for closer to three weeks, and ranks as the fourth-best player in Yahoo! leagues over the previous two weeks.
He is also still just 66% rostered in leagues, and would be a worthwhile pickup if he is still available in your league. The metrics tell us that he may be getting a bit lucky, as he does not rank in the top 50th percentile in any meaningful categories aside from hard hit rate.
That being said, this is a player who posted 17 HR and 25 SB in 2024, his last full season, as he missed significant time in 2025. Whether or not he can continue this torrid pace is to be determined, but you may as well enjoy the ride while he is running hot.

Samad Taylor, 2B/OF, San Diego Padres
The Padres recently called Samad Taylor up after racking up hit after hit in the minors, and he has continued his hot streak. Over the previous two weeks, he has been slashing .390/.438/.488 with one HR, eight RBI, 11 R, five BB, and four SB. This has been good enough to rank him 12th overall in Yahoo! leagues across that span.
While he does not qualify for Statcast metrics since he has only played in 12 games this season, it is worth noting that his xBA of .294 is very strong. He also has just a 26.2% chase rate and 21.7% whiff rate through his first 50 PA. He is exactly what the Padres need, given their struggles on offense this season.
He is still just 17% rostered in Yahoo! leagues, but this percentage has been creeping up day by day. He is worth a flier in most leagues at this point and is eligible at both second base and the outfield.
Fantasy Baseball Pitcher Risers
Gage Jump, Athletics
Gage Jump has looked great recently, despite the home park he pitches in, which is saying something. Over the previous two weeks, he has posted a 1.47 ERA, 0.87 WHIP, and 16 Ks across 18 1/3 IP. Additionally, he has racked up two wins and ranks 23rd in Yahoo! leagues over that span.
Jump is also just rostered in 37% of Yahoo! leagues, so he is definitely worth a flier if he is still available in your league. The metrics tell us he ranks in the 80th percentile or better in xERA, chase rate, barrel rate, and hard hit rate. So, he is capable of racking up some strikeouts while limiting hard contact.
This is especially important in Sutter Health Park, and a big reason he should be added in most leagues.
Tanner Bibee, Cleveland Guardians
Tanner Bibee has and will always have his ups and downs in the big leagues. He is a rollercoaster of a pitcher, but thankfully, the previous two weeks have been good. Over that span, he has posted a 3.65 ERA, 0.81 WHIP, and 15 Ks across 12 1/3 IP. He has also collected two wins and ranks 108th in Yahoo! leagues over that span.
The metrics, however, are not nearly as good as the results, which suggest he has gotten a bit lucky recently. Overall, he ranks below the 50th percentile in almost every meaningful category. While he is not an unrosterable pitcher, fantasy managers should be aware of the propensity for bad stretches the remainder of the season.
Enjoy the ride while it lasts, would be my advice here, and avoid starting him against highly potent offenses.
Fantasy Baseball Hitter Fallers
Xavier Edwards, 2B/SS, Miami Marlins
Xavier Edwards was mentioned here as a riser not too long ago; however, the tide has turned, and he is now struggling a bit. Over the previous two weeks, he has been posting a slash line of .158/.255/.158 with zero HR, six RBI, two R, and six BB. This ranks him 585th overall in Yahoo! leagues over that span.
The underlying metrics are still strong, so I am not too worried about his long-term prognosis. Overall, he ranks in the 70th percentile or better in xBA, chase rate, whiff rate, K rate, and walk rate. Edwards is never going to be a huge power threat, but he should consistently hit for average.
He should also continue to produce runs in this Marlins lineup, so I would just consider this rough patch a blip on the radar as far as the overall season is concerned.

Spencer Steer, 1B/2B/OF, Cincinnati Reds
Spencer Steer is another hitter who has been struggling recently. Over the previous two weeks, he has been slashing an ugly .075/.159/.300 with three HR, seven RBI, five R, and four BB. Additionally, he has put up a 36.3% K rate over this span and ranks 506th in Yahoo! leagues.
All this being said, it is good to see that Steer still has three home runs over this span; however, those three homers are the only hits he has had over the previous two weeks. The metrics are still pretty solid, as he ranks in the 75th percentile or better in xwOBA, xSLG, barrel rate, and, surprisingly, chase rate.
I would expect him to rebound in the near term and continue to provide returns to fantasy managers. He is now up to 12 home runs on the season, and should end the season somewhere north of the 21 he hit in 2025.

Fantasy Baseball Pitcher Fallers
Framber Valdez, Detroit Tigers
Framber Valdez has been struggling over the previous two weeks, having posted a 3.27 ERA, 1.55 WHIP, and just eight Ks across 11 IP. He has zero wins over this span and ranks 490th in Yahoo! leagues.
I have never been a huge fan of Valdez, and the metrics show that he has not been performing well overall in 2026. He ranks below the 50th percentile in several categories. Most notably, his 18.3% K rate ranks him in the 24th percentile. He is not someone I would trust down the stretch, given his lackluster Statcast page.

Will Warren, New York Yankees
Will Warren has been pretty solid this season; however, the previous two weeks have been anything but. Over that span, he has posted a 4.50 ERA, 1.93 WHIP, and 14 Ks across 14 IP. He has zero wins and ranks 650th in Yahoo! leagues over this span as well.
Looking into the metrics, we see that Warren does not blow you away in any one category, but he has been pretty solid at limiting walks and hard contact. This is noted by his 6.6% barrel rate and 7.6% walk rate. He has also been solid at striking batters out, as noted by his 24.7% K rate.
While I do not think Warren is a top-of-the-line starter, he should return to being very serviceable the remainder of the season.
