Biggest Fantasy Football Busts of the Week - Fantasy Outlooks for Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, Kyren Williams, Jonathan Taylor, Stefon Diggs

Several NFL players underwhelmed in Week 12 of the 2025 fantasy football season. Andersen Pickard identifies busts at each position and if they'll bounce back.

Another Sunday in the NFL has come and gone. Hopefully, you woke up on Monday morning feeling very good about how your fantasy football matchup went in Week 12. However, some fantasy managers enjoyed this week's games more than others. The Week 12 slate was certainly stress-inducing for managers.

Part of that stress was caused by a group of players who drastically underachieved in Week 12. These players failed to meet their fantasy expectations this week, and it cost their managers in a big way.

Let's take a look at the biggest busts from Week 12, as well as whether or not we can still have some trust in these players moving forward. All point totals are based on the PPR scoring system. Players who missed part of the game due to injury are exempt from being featured.

Fantasy Football Quarterback Busts

J.J. McCarthy, 1.5 FPTS

It's only been six games, but it's already time to hit the panic button on McCarthy. This was his third consecutive game with two interceptions, and he also took five sacks on Sunday. He should be benched in all fantasy leagues until he has proven that he can play serviceable football, at a bare minimum.

Lamar Jackson, 6.2 FPTS

Baltimore beat New York by 13 points on Sunday, but the Jets were able to keep Jackson relatively in check. The mobile quarterback had just 153 passing yards and 11 rushing yards. He didn't turn the ball over, but he didn't score a touchdown either. Jackson has now endured two consecutive games without a touchdown, but his rushing upside keeps him in the QB1 tier for Week 13.

Jordan Love, 7.1 FPTS

Love operated as a game manager on Sunday. He didn't score any touchdowns, but he also played clean, mistake-free football. This was the result of Green Bay running the ball very often against a defense known for its struggles containing the run. He'll likely have to pass more against the Lions in Week 13, ranking as a fringe top-12 fantasy quarterback.

Josh Allen, 10.1 FPTS

Allen tallied zero touchdowns, two interceptions, and a career-high eight sacks during Thursday night's upset loss against the Texans. For the first time since Week 9 of the 2021 season, Allen finished a game with zero touchdowns and at least one interception. Despite the poor finish, he's still one of the NFL's best quarterbacks and should bounce back as a high-end QB1 against Pittsburgh.

Fantasy Football Running Back Busts

Sean Tucker, 5.6 FPTS

Tucker wasn't able to build on his breakout three-touchdown performance from last week. Instead, he rushed for 42 yards on 12 carries and caught one of his two targets in an ugly loss to the Rams. Bucky Irving (foot/shoulder) is expected to return next week, which would push both Tucker and Rachaad White off the fantasy radar in most leagues.

However, if Irving were to suffer a setback, Tucker would jump to the high-end RB2 tier against Arizona.

Rhamondre Stevenson, 2.0 FPTS

Stevenson returned from a three-game absence but clearly lost his lead-back role to TreVeyon Henderson. He finished Sunday's game with just five rushing yards and five receiving yards on seven total touches. He struggled near the goal line, putting an abrupt end to a potential scoring drive. He should be benched in all fantasy leagues for Week 13 against the Giants.

Bhayshul Tuten, 1.7 FPTS

When Tuten had 15 carries, 74 yards, and one touchdown last Sunday, it seemed like he was finally enjoying his first-year breakout and could be an RB2 every week. Instead, he rushed for just 17 yards on seven carries this Sunday, losing significant ground to Travis Etienne Jr. in the backfield pecking order. Tuten ranks outside the top 36 fantasy running backs for Week 13 against Tennessee.

Kyren Williams, 5.8 FPTS

Williams had just one carry for one yard throughout a good portion of the first half, but he started to earn some more volume as the Rams increased their lead and sought to control the clock. Still, the 25-year-old finished with just 5.8 fantasy points, which goes down as his worst total of the season. Fortunately, he is extremely talented and should bounce back as a high-end RB2 against Carolina in Week 13.

Devin Singletary, 4.7 FPTS

The Giants' backfield continues to be very challenging to predict. Singletary remained just as involved as in games past, but he wasn't able to replicate last week's two-touchdown showing. Along the way, his two-game streak of scoring double-digit fantasy points came to an end. He's a risky RB3 play in Week 13 against a very strong Patriots run defense.

D'Andre Swift, 2.9 FPTS

Swift had eight carries for just 15 yards on the ground Sunday, and he also converted his lone target into a 14-yard reception. Furthermore, he lost a fumble in the Bears' win. Swift could not get anything going, and as a result, he lost meaningful opportunities to Kyle Monangai. He'll drop to the RB3 tier for Week 13 against a tough Eagles run defense.

Jonathan Taylor, 8.6 FPTS

Taylor was bottled up by the Colts, rushing for just 58 yards on 16 carries. He also caught two passes for an additional eight receiving yards. This was a rare performance from the superstar running back, and he should have no trouble bouncing back as a high-end RB1 in a favorable matchup against the Texans next week.

Fantasy Football Wide Receiver Busts

Jerry Jeudy, 3.9 FPTS

Jeudy caught just one pass for 39 yards on Sunday, and he lost a fumble. The 26-year-old has posted double-digit fantasy points just twice this season, ranking outside the top 60 receivers in fantasy football. He should be benched in most leagues as the Browns' offense remains difficult to trust heading into Week 13 against San Francisco.

Stefon Diggs, 4.0 FPTS

Diggs' five-game streak of double-digit fantasy performances came to an end on Sunday. His underwhelming performance was likely the result of Drake Maye funneling a large portion of his pass attempts to the tight end position. The 31-year-old should still be viewed as a mid-to-high WR2 option heading into Week 13 against the Giants.

Emeka Egbuka, 6.2 FPTS

Egbuka was held to just three receptions for 32 yards while catching passes from Baker Mayfield (shoulder) and Teddy Bridgewater. The rookie has hit a bit of a lull after an initially strong start to the season; he has scored single-digit points in five of his last six games. He'll drop to the low-end WR2 tier for Week 13 against Arizona.

Jordan Addison, 0.0 FPTS

Addison turned in a rare goose egg on Sunday. He escapes most of the blame, of course, as McCarthy struggled throwing the football in Week 13. Addison will rank as a WR3 with a low floor and high ceiling against the Seahawks in Week 13. His outlook largely depends on how well his quarterback plays.

Jameson Williams, 0.0 FPTS

Williams was targeted three times but didn't catch a pass on Sunday. This is the second time in Williams's last five games that he has finished without a reception. Games like these will remain possible since he's a boom-or-bust player. Managers will have to be patient and wait for him to bounce back with one of those "boom" games — perhaps as early as this Thursday against the Packers.

Alec Pierce, 3.6 FPTS

Pierce's streak of four games with at least 8.9 fantasy points came to an end on Sunday as he caught just one pass for 26 yards. The big-play threat was held in check by a strong Chiefs defense, and he could face similar difficulty against a very impressive Texans secondary in Week 13. He's a WR3/flex with a low floor.

Chris Godwin, 2.9 FPTS

Godwin caught just two passes for nine yards in his return from a five-game absence on Sunday. Next week's matchup against the Cardinals looks great on paper, but until Godwin shows that he can produce at a higher level, he should be benched in most fantasy football leagues.

Darius Slayton, 3.3 FPTS

Slayton was held to just one catch in a relatively disappointing return from injury. Jameis Winston's gunslinger style of play benefited Wan'Dale Robinson, but Slayton didn't have the same experience. He'll drop to the WR3/flex tier for Week 13 against the Patriots.

Romeo Doubs, 4.3 FPTS

Doubs caught just two of his three targets for 23 yards. Green Bay operated in a run-heavy approach on Sunday, leaving fewer targets for players like Doubs. He should bounce back in a more pass-heavy matchup against the Lions on Thanksgiving Day.

Fantasy Football Tight End Busts

Dalton Schultz, 1.8 FPTS

The Texans took down the Bills on Thursday night, but Schultz mustered just one catch for eight yards on four targets. This was his worst game of the season, as well as the first time since Week 8 that he finished with fewer than six receptions. The 29-year-old remains a key weapon on offense and should bounce back as a fantasy TE1 next week against the Colts.

Mark Andrews, 2.1 FPTS

Andrews had one catch for nine yards, and he also had a pair of rushing attempts. The veteran tight end has been very inconsistent this year, but Sunday's game was particularly bad. In fact, it was his lowest-scoring game since Week 2. He snapped a three-game touchdown streak in Week 12 but should bounce back as a mid-range TE1 against a woeful Bengals defense next week.

Dallas Goedert, 4.0 FPTS

Goedert was targeted twice on Sunday, catching both passes for 20 yards. He capitalized on his two opportunities but simply didn't see enough targets to have an impactful fantasy performance. He should bounce back as a mid-range TE1 in Week 13 against Chicago.

AJ Barner, 3.8 FPTS

Barner failed to build on last week's 10-catch, 70-yard performance. His productivity has been inconsistent this season, but he continues to rank as a mid-to-low TE2. Next week, he'll take on the Vikings, ranking as a fringe top-24 fantasy tight end once again.

David Njoku, 0.0 FPTS

Njoku was held without a target in Shedeur Sanders' first game as the Browns' starting quarterback. The 29-year-old is talented, but he has lost significant ground to rookie tight end Harold Fannin Jr. in the pecking order. He ranks outside the top 18 tight ends for Week 13 against San Francisco.
