New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson (knee) has had tough luck with injuries this season. He suffered a knee sprain in a Week 6 game against the Denver Broncos, and missed two games and three weeks total as a result. He returned to play in Week 10.
Unfortunately, he suffered yet another knee sprain in that game. He scored zero fantasy points, as he was unable to haul in any of his three targets, before he was pulled from the contest. And now, he's set to miss even more time.
The Jets have an absolutely abysmal offense that's lucked their way into two wins in the last three weeks because they played the worst defense in football (the Cincinnati Bengals) and had two return touchdowns on special teams in Week 11. But with Wilson set to miss even more time, should you drop him?

Should I Drop Garrett Wilson in Fantasy Football?
There is really no reason to drop him. There's plenty of time left in the season, and a player of his talent, even on a bad offense, can still be a valuable fantasy asset as a flex play, especially if your team is dealing with injuries. But the Jets offense is about as bleak as it gets.
Wilson is the only bright spot to the passing offense when running back Breece Hall isn't taking screen passes to the end zone. The Jets game against the Cleveland Browns was akin to a Shakespearean tragedy in the passing game.

Were it not for the above play, Jets starting quarterback Justin Fields would have finished with 12 passing yards. It's hard to comprehend just how bad he is as a passer. He's always been unable to process defenses and make proper reads, and you see examples all over his film.

Social media tends to be filled with positive takes about teams' starting QBs and vehement rejection of any hint of criticism, but Fields is so impossibly bad as a passer that it just can't be ignored. And that's a major detriment to Wilson's upside.
We at least saw the two connect quite a bit in garbage time over the first few weeks, which made him a must-start fantasy asset. But his production craters the moment Fields has another one of his "fake" passing games, which I call his games where he has under 100 passing yards.
It shouldn't even be possible to not pick up at least 25 passing yards per quarter for an NFL QB, but here we are. Still, you shouldn't drop Wilson, though he's quickly shaping up to be one of the biggest busts of the 2025 NFL season in fantasy football.
Who Should I Pick Up for Fantasy Football?
The receiver position is a bit more forgiving than that of the TE and RB this time of year on the waiver wire. One of my favorite grabs is Chicago Bears wide receiver Luther Burden III. On a per-route basis, he's actually the most efficient WR on the team by far, averaging over 2.7 yards per route run. Bears WR1 Rome Odunze doesn't even clear 2 YPRR.
Burden's season has been interrupted by injuries in the offseason and a concussion two weeks ago that caused him to miss one contest. But he's already shown excellent progress in his route-running, and seems to be on his way to a bigger role moving forward.

If you're really desperate, you could grab Las Vegas Raiders WR Tyler Lockett off waivers as well, or just wait to snag him as a free-agent pickup. The Raiders WR corps is so dismal right now that he's getting a decent amount of work. He actually looked like the team's best route-runner in Week 10.

He's 33 years old. That's how bad things are for the Raiders. Their top target will continue to be tight end Brock Bowers, though his fantasy ceiling is massively nerfed by quarterback Geno Smith's struggles. Still, their offensive coordinator appears to want to get Lockett more involved than their rookies.
