Woody Marks Week 8 Waiver Wire Pickups

Marks was mostly unproductive in his team's Week 7 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. The Texans continue to get blasted by opposing teams due to their struggles on offense. The offensive line is easily among the worst in the NFL, the offensive coordinator hasn't done a great job, and quarterback C.J. Stroud has been inconsistent.
These things benefit Marks to a degree, though. He's not the primary rushing back, as he's much lighter than Chubb. But he's handled the majority of the receiving work out of the backfield, and with such poor success passing down the field, there's some value to be had with check-down and dump-off passes.

Marks scored a garbage-time touchdown that saved what would have been an unremarkable fantasy performance otherwise. While it was a passing play in which he had to get open in the end zone, touchdowns are touchdowns.
If things improve for the Texans, he might get more rushing work and be more productive. But he's not a power back, as he weighs under 200 pounds, so a workhorse role isn't likely. But as long as RB Joe Mixon (foot) remains injured and unable to play, Marks has more contingent upside in case of a Chubb injury, and could see his role grow moving forward.
Nick Chubb Week 8 Waiver Wire Pickups
Rostered: 71% of Leagues
Baller Move: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
Chubb is a non-pass-catching back on a terrible offense that's splitting work with a rookie. That's not conducive to fantasy value. Perhaps if Houston had a stable offensive line, quarterback play, and improved offensive play-calling and game scripts, he could be more productive.
But he had just one reception for negative five yards in Week 7, and rushed five times for 16 yards. Houston's falling behind in their games makes it hard for Chubb to establish a consistent role. The Texans' offense is so bad that they can't even keep up with many opposing teams, even with the league's best defense helping them out.

Vibes for the Texans are down right now, and it's showing up in game film.
Tez Johnson Week 8 Waiver Wire Pickups
Rostered: 35% of Leagues
Baller Move: Add in All Leagues
Johnson has established himself as a good receiver in the NFL. Despite him being a seventh-round pick, likely due to his diminutive size, Johnson's shiftiness with the ball in his hands and natural separation skills have led to him scoring two touchdowns in the past two weeks.
Wth Bucs top WR Mike Evans (clavicle) potentially out for the rest of the regular season, Johnson could get consistent playing time and get in on the action of one of the best passing offenses in the NFL. Chris Godwin (fibula) hasn't played for two weeks, and his return timetable is uncertain.

The Lions, whom Tampa Bay faced in Week 7, had a defense decimated by injuries, but Johnson has an intriguing skill set, and should be added in all leagues.
