Evan Rodrigues Exits Practice Early Sunday
Florida Panthers forward Evan Rodrigues (undisclosed) didn't finish Sunday's practice session, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports. Panthers head coach Paul Maurice told reporters that Rodrigues was dealing with "something very minor." The injury might keep Rodrigues out of Monday's preseason contest against the Carolina Hurricanes, but there's nothing to suggest he can't be ready for the team's regular-season opener on Oct. 7 versus the Chicago Blackhawks. The Panthers must start the season without Aleksander Barkov (knee) and Matthew Tkachuk (groin), so it's not surprising that they are being extra cautious with another forward who has run into health issues. With Barkov and Tkachuk out, Rodrigues could take on a larger role in the Panthers' offense, increasing his fantasy value.
