Evgeni Malkin Not Thinking About Retirement
Pittsburgh Penguins forward Evgeni Malkin hinted that he might have another season left in him after his 20th NHL campaign in 2025-26. "I'm still hungry. I'm glad to be here this year," Malkin told reporters on Friday. "[But] it depends how the season is going [whether I stay in Pittsburgh]. If we play great, I play great, I feel confidence, and I show my game, why not one more? The preseason is huge for the team, and for myself. We have [a] new coach, a couple new teammates. It's exciting to see what's going on this year." Malkin will begin the final season of a four-year, $24.4 million contract. He had a below-par year last season with a 50-point effort across 68 games.
