Projecting Rest of Season Top 10 Starting Pitchers in 2025 Fantasy Baseball (Week 11)

Kevin Larson projects which 10 pitchers will finish the season in the top 10 for the 2025 fantasy baseball season as we head into Week 11 of MLB action.

Welcome to the Week 11 edition of our Top 10 Starting Pitchers series for the 2025 fantasy baseball season. We're in the meat of the schedule, and hopefully, your starting pitchers are in line. Starting pitching is one of the most important things to focus on in fantasy baseball, as a consistent rotation can make your lineup decisions that much easier.

We're starting to see who's getting into their groove and who isn't. There are a few question marks still, but for the most part, we're seeing who's who in the fantasy baseball world.

Now, let's take a look at this season's current top-ranked pitchers.

Current Top 10 Starting Pitchers for Fantasy Baseball

According to Yahoo's player rankings, here are the top 10 most valuable starting pitchers in standard leagues (as of June 10).

Tarik Skubal comes in at the top spot yet again. He nearly went eight innings against one of baseball's best offenses in the Cubs. It marked his third straight game where he's gone out there for the eighth inning, something he's never done in his career. His 2.16 ERA is paired with a 2.29 xFIP, so don't expect him to slip up anytime soon. He's the AL Cy Young favorite again for a reason.

Hunter Brown continues his stellar year and comes in fourth. The 26-year-old has put up solid stat lines in his last two starts, allowing just one ER in 11.1 innings to go along with 14 Ks. That's all well and good, but control issues are holding him back from being even more dominant.

He's walked nine batters in those two starts. He had walked nine batters total in his prior nine starts. With a 6.3 percent walk rate in his first 11 starts, these control issues should subside. But if not, then there may be bigger issues around the corner.

Paul Skenes makes his first appearance in the current top 10 this season. Surprise surprise! We've been projecting him to rise, and he's finally here after a 7.2 innings of one-run ball. That run was unearned as well, dropping his ERA below 2.00 and getting him his fourth win of the season. Even the old heads are going to have to admit that he's way better than his 4-6 record and should continue to stay up in the top 10 for weeks to come.

MacKenzie Gore stays in the top 10 after seven innings of shutout ball against the Cubs. Ever since his 3.2 inning, 10-hit outing against the Orioles, he's seemingly gotten things under control, giving up just one ER in 19 innings coming into his Tuesday night start against the Mets.

We've been harping on the positive regression that his xFIP has promised, and it's finally here as his ERA has dipped below 3.00 for the first time since mid-April. With a 2.53 xFIP, driven by his 12.90 K/9, he should have staying power in the top 10 as long as walks don't become an issue for him.

Robbie Ray makes his first appearance in the top 10 this season. His current 2.44 ERA would mark a career best for the southpaw should things stay consistent. He's been very efficient, throwing a pitch in the seventh inning in seven of his last eight starts, and hasn't given up more than three ER in any of those starts.

He's also struck out seven or more in eight of those nine starts. It'd seem he's regaining his Cy Young form. But a 3.57 xFIP suggests some negative regression is coming, even if he'll still be pretty good once it hits.

Max Fried rounds out the top 10 this week. He's been sticking around even though we've been projecting him to fall out of the top 10 eventually. A lot of that is due to a big bounce-back game.

After getting trounced by the Dodgers, Fried threw six shutout innings against Cleveland while striking out seven and allowing just one hit. The expected stats still say he's got some negative regression coming, but his 3.17 xFIP could be worse. At the very least, that Yankees offense should score enough to still get him wins when he doesn't have his A-game.

Projected Top 10 Starting Pitchers for Fantasy Baseball

Plenty will change between now and October, though. Here's how I think the top 10 will look by the end of the season. I base these rankings on where each pitcher stands now, what the underlying metrics indicate about their performance, and who will likely have sustained success over the next five months.

My rest-of-season projections change weekly, but here's where they stand for now.

No changes to this week's rankings as these 10 pitchers have been proving themselves through and through. Skubal stays in the top spot and, as we highlighted, should have plenty of staying power at the top.

Zack Wheeler comes in at number two. After missing a start for the birth of his fourth child, Wheeler went six deep against the Cubs on Monday night. A solo shot to Kyle Tucker was his only blemish on the night as he allowed just three hits and struck out seven. Skenes is the current betting favorite for the NL Cy Young Award, but Wheeler's ability to go deep while keeping a high strikeout rate may make him an interesting contender come season's end.

Garrett Crochet comes in at number three. Though he gave up five ER against the Yankees in his last start, he still struck out nine. Those strikeouts will continue to drive plenty of fantasy value for the southpaw. As long as he avoids trouble, he should continue to go deep as well as the Red Sox have seen his pitch count top 100 in four of his last six starts, all games where he pitched into the seventh.

Logan Webb comes in at number five for us. His 2.58 ERA is a career best, while his 10.41 K/9 marks a career high as well. We've been showcasing his increase in strikeouts this season as it's been a major turning point for the 28-year-old. He's struck out 27 batters over 20 innings of work in his last three starts. Similar to Wheeler, he's going to make an interesting case for the NL Cy Young this season.

Carlos Rodon comes in at number seven. Similar to Crochet, he got hit a bit hard in this weekend's series against the Red Sox and gave up five ER in five innings against Boston.

We've been mentioning that walks can be a big issue for Rodon, and they were just that on Sunday as he only gave up three hits to the Red Sox but also gave up three walks. Two of those walks were followed up immediately with homers, lending credence to the adage that walks will haunt you.

He should be fine going forward, but if he can't find the zone, then we may find him dropping in our rankings.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto comes in at number eight. It feels like he's been pretty quiet as of late, but maybe that's a good thing. Outside of a bad start against the Yankees, it looks like he's been finding his form. In his most recent start against St. Louis, he notched nine strikeouts amid six shutout innings. The righty's 2.79 xFIP ranks seventh among qualified starters, so he'll continue to dominate.

Rounding out the top 10 is Kris Bubic. The southpaw hasn't pitched since June 1st when he went seven innings deep against the Tigers. He has another huge test on deck on Wednesday when he faces the Yankees.

With negative regression rearing its ugly head, he'll need to be absolutely nails against the league's best offense against lefties. His changeup and sweeper have driven his success, both holding a .212 xwOBA or better. If he can stave off New York's incredible offense, then more people around the league may start finally buying into a Royals southpaw not named Cole Ragans.
