Week 15 Fantasy Football Fallers: Jameis Winston, Shaun Draughn, Travis Kelce & More

Well Week 14 was really hit or miss across the board with plenty of games in the clunker/ugly category and a few that just absolutely popped off. If your playoff hopes are still alive then take a little sip of champagne if you'd like, but it only gets more difficult and sweaty from here on out.

Some poor performances were rather predictable as there were quite a few tilted matchups this weekend, while some were just rude and uncalled for. I try not to repeat here, but please know that Matt Ryan deserves to be here in the worst way week in week out it seems.

Without further ado, let's check in on some players who saw their stocks fall with their Week 14 performance.

Week 15 Fantasy Football Fallers

Jameis Winston - QB, TB

Boy howdy, that was one hell of a disappointing effort out of Jameis and the Buccaneers' offense. Winston missed plenty of throws, but he also had some receivers drop some critical passes. Vincent Jackson is going to be out for a while according to multiple reports as he is dealing with an MCL injury. Austin Seferian-Jenkins is back though, so at least there's that. It's discouraging to see the Buccaneers have success with Doug Martin early and then abandon it, leaving the offense out of balance. Winston just doesn't look like he's going to have any semblance of consistency in 2015, and in the playoffs you don't want to bank on a volatile option like this with a limited ceiling. The Bucs face the Rams on Thursday who just feasted on the Lions (Aaron Donald went cuckoo in that). Look elsewhere.

Latavius Murray – RB, OAK

I highly doubt anyone played Latavius with any real expectations against a good Denver defense, but for those who did you probably were still disappointed. 27 yards on 16 carries and zero catches is not a good look.

Green Bay's defense is just average against the run, ranking 17th in DVOA according to FootballOutsiders against the rush, so Latavius might have a shot here at a good game. Too bad the Raiders seem to hate running the ball. Their offense goes through Derek Carr's arm. Murray is a flex option at best this week, but if you find yourself advancing he has a tasty matchup versus San Diego in Week 16.

Shaun Draughn – RB, SF

Draughn looked like a safe play leading up to a dream date with the horrible Cleveland Browns defense. So much for that. He finished the game with 43 yards on 11 carries and only two catches for eight yards (after catching at least five passes in each of his last three games). Maybe he needs to play good defenses in order to do well? Is that the secret? If so, next week against the Bengals should provide Draughn with a better opportunity.

Stefon Diggs - WR, MIN

I'm sure most of you know the deal by now, but his ownership rates are still very high so this is worth commenting on. The Vikings' passing attack seems to have really cooled in general, as Teddy Bridgewater is getting the "Jameis" treatment a bit where the quarterback isn't faced with the burden of carrying the offense. It helps when you have Adrian Peterson at running back too. Diggs also had to deal with Patrick Peterson's shadow coverage on Thursday, so that didn't do him any favors.

Diggs was running hot for a while there, but the ride wasn't sustainable. Diggs gets the Bears, Giants, and Packers to end the year. That Giants' matchup is really nice, but it's hard to have any trust in Diggs to put up even the safest of floors. Goose eggs have no place on playoff rosters.

Brandin Cooks - WR, NO

Boy it stunk to see the Saints actually do well on the road and for Brandin Cooks to get no piece of the pie. Marques Colston scored twice, Willie Snead had 122 yards, and Benjamin Watson put up a good game alongside Tim Hightower's valiant rushing effort. Cooks only caught three-pf-five targets for 29 yards. The Saints get the Lions, Jaguars, and Falcons next, so that bodes well for Cooks and the passing attack. The next two games are at home as well, which just improves the odds for the Saints to be successful that much more with Brees' home/road splits. Still, some of you may not have gotten through thanks to Cooks' clunker in Week 14.

Travis Kelce - TE, KC

Repeat customer here. It sucks but all we can do is throw our hands up . Unfortunately, Kelce only saw five targets, catching three of them for 18 yards. There's not much to say here, Kansas City is just not going to really provide you with a consistent producer in Kelce. For what it's worth, Kelce gets to pick on the Ravens, Browns, and Raiders in his last three games. That's a cake walk matchup wise, but unfortunately we just can't trust Kelce and the Chiefs. As usual, Kelce's biggest enemy is Andy Reid and Alex Smith. His ceiling is so mighty, but boy the bell curve of his outcomes is depressingly skewed towards the lower end.

Other Fallers to Note: Brock Osweiler (QB, DEN), Jeremy Hill (RB, CIN), Danny Woodhead (RB, SD), Mike Evans (WR, TB), Jordan Matthews (WR, PHI)
