Auburn, Ohio State the Lead Suitors for Kyle Parker
LSU wide receiver transfer Kyle Parker is trending to land at Auburn or Ohio State, according to On3. Parker was a four-star recruit out of Texas in the Class of 2023, but he did not earn significant playing time until his redshirt-sophomore campaign in 2025. After catching just three passes for 55 yards as a freshman, Parker hauled in 31 receptions for 330 yards and four touchdowns last season. Both Auburn (Cam Coleman) and Ohio State (Carnell Tate) are losing big-time wide receiver talents from last year's squad, so Parker could be an impact player right away for the Tigers or Buckeyes. Auburn has been trending as the team to beat for Parker, but Ohio State is making a late push in the recruitment process.

Oregon QB Transfer Bryson Beaver Linked to Georgia, Kentucky
Oregon quarterback Bryson Beaver, who enrolled in the school on January 5, has entered the transfer portal following the announcements that Dylan Raiola has signed with the Ducks, and Dante Moore is returning for another season rather than entering the 2026 NFL Draft. Beaver was a four-star recruit in the Class of 2026 out of California, and his path to playing time evaporated quickly. According to On3, Georgia and Kentucky are the top schools to watch in his transfer-portal recruitment. The Bulldogs have Gunner Stockton coming back in 2026, and the Wildcats just signed Notre Dame transfer Kenny Minchey. However, Beaver could add depth to either SEC roster and potentially compete for a starting role in 2027.

Jake Merklinger Commits to UConn
Tennessee transfer quarterback Jake Merklinger has committed to UConn, according to On3. The rising redshirt sophomore was a four-star recruit in the class of 2024 and appeared in six total games in two seasons with the Vols. As a third-stringer in 2024 and backup in 2025, Merklinger completed 19 of 33 passing attempts for 221 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions. He did not play in meaningful action during his time in Knoxville. As a former blue-chip recruit and SEC transfer, Merklinger will likely get the chance to compete for the starting job under new head coach Jason Candle, who comes over from Toledo after an 81-44 record in 10 seasons with the Rockets.

Dante Moore Not Entering 2026 NFL Draft, Will Return to Oregon
Oregon quarterback Dante Moore is not entering the 2026 NFL Draft. The 20-year-old rising junior was projected by many to be the No. 2 overall pick this year, but he has decided to stay in Eugene for at least one more season. After beginning his career at UCLA in 2023, Moore sat behind Dillon Gabriel in 2024 at Oregon. He took over the starting role in 2025, passing for 3,565 yards, 30 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions in 15 games. Moore led the Ducks to the College Football Playoff Semifinals in Year 1 as a starter, and the Ducks will be among the title favorites in 2026-27 based on his return to school. With another season under his belt, Moore should be better prepared for the NFL heading into the 2027 NFL Draft. Assuming his play doesn't mightily regress mightily in 2026, he'll be a top prospect next year. Nebraska transfer quarterback Dylan Raiola now projects to serve as Moore's backup for one season.

FBS Coaches Unanimously Vote to Expand Redshirt Eligibility to Nine Games
According to David Ubben of The Athletic, the FBS head coaches unanimously voted to expand redshirt eligibility from four games to nine. While that does not make the expansion official, it is a recommendation that will be put forth to the Division I committees. Redshirt eligibility was expanded to four games ahead of the 2018-19 college football season, and coaches are pushing for an even more lenient rule just a relatively short time after. If this passes, a player can play up to nine contests without losing a year of collegiate eligibility. College football has seen major changes over the last few years, and it looks like change will continue to take place in the next few years. This is just another possibility.

Ohio State Transfer Mylan Graham Signs with Notre Dame
Former Ohio State wide receiver Mylan Graham has officially signed with Notre Dame, according to On3's Pete Nakos. Graham is a former four-star recruit in the Class of 2024, and he was rated as the No. 1 player from the state of Indiana coming out of high school. Buried behind stud wideouts such as Emeka Egbuka, Jeremiah Smith, and Carnell Tate on the depth chart, Graham played in just four games in 2024 and nine games in 2025. He tallied just six catches for 93 yards through his first two collegiate seasons. However, his path to playing time should be clearer in South Bend, as Notre Dame is losing standout wide receiver Malachi Fields to the NFL. Graham is joining former Ohio State teammate Quincy Porter with the Irish in 2026.

Caden Durham Withdraws from Transfer Portal, Will Stay at LSU
LSU running back Caden Durham entered the NCAA transfer portal on January 3, but On3's Pete Nakos reports that he officially withdrew his name on Tuesday. The rising junior is now expected to stay with the program under new head coach Lane Kiffin. The Oklahoma native has played in 24 games for the Tigers over the last two seasons, totaling 295 touches for 1,609 yards and 11 total touchdowns. He flashed as a true freshman before regressing in 2025, in large part due to shaky offensive line play in Baton Rouge. LSU currently has three transfer running backs committed to the school, in Rod Gainey Jr. (Charlotte), Dilin Jones (Wisconsin), and Raycine Guillory (Utah). With Durham staying put, he should be the favorite to handle the most carries in Kiffin's offense in 2026.

Georgia Tech the Favorite to Land Justice Haynes?
Former Alabama and Michigan running back Justice Haynes has officially entered the transfer portal, and On3 sources suggest Georgia Tech is the top school to watch in his recruitment. Haynes spent two seasons with the Crimson Tide before a breakout season in Ann Arbor in 2025. The 21-year-old tallied 121 carries for 857 yards (7.1 YPC), 13 receptions for 50 yards, and 10 rushing touchdowns in just seven games. Haynes rushed for at least 100 yards in every game he finished (six), but he missed six total contests due to upper-body and foot injuries. Haynes is one of the top available ball carriers in the portal, and he'd be a fantastic addition to the Georgia Tech offense, as they look to replace Jamal Haynes.

Georgia Lands Kentucky Transfer Dante Dowdell
Former Kentucky running back Dante Dowdell is signing with Georgia, according to On3Sports. The 20-year-old will be at his fourth school in as many years, entering 2026. Dowdell began his career at Oregon (2023) before transferring to Nebraska (2024) and then playing one season at Kentucky (2025). Overall, he's tallied 272 rushing attempts for 1,264 yards and 14 touchdowns, adding 14 receptions for 51 yards through the air. Dowdell is a bruising back at 225 pounds, and he figures to work in a committee in the Bulldogs' offense. Georgia ranked fourth in rushing yards per game (182.1) in the SEC in 2025.

Sam Leavitt Expected to Sign with LSU
Arizona State transfer quarterback Sam Leavitt is expected to land with LSU after visiting several programs, according to ESPN's Pete Thamel. The rising junior signal-caller visited with LSU, Kentucky, Miami, and Tennessee during the "recruitment" process, but it appears he has decided to join Lane Kiffin and the Tigers for the 2026 campaign. On Monday morning, the 21-year-old informed programs that he will be going to Baton Rouge. Leavitt played in 20 games for the Sun Devils, tallying 4,513 passing yards, 749 rushing yards, and 44 touchdowns to just nine interceptions. He led Arizona State to the College Football Playoff and Big 12 Championship after the team was picked to finish last in the conference in 2024. He will be Kiffin's first starting quarterback at LSU, and a big season in 2026 could propel him to be a top pick in the 2027 NFL Draft.

Dylan Raiola Commits to Oregon
Former Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola committed to Oregon on Monday, according to Pete Nakos and Hayes Fawcett of On3Sports. The former five-star recruit and top-10 overall player in the Class of 2024 entered the transfer portal following two seasons at Nebraska, which yielded mixed results. In 22 career starts, the rising junior completed 69.1% of his passes for 4,819 yards, 31 touchdowns, and 17 interceptions. The 20-year-old finished his career in Lincoln with a 13-9 record. His sophomore season was cut short after suffering a broken fibula on November 1 against USC. Oregon has lived in the transfer portal to find starting quarterbacks since the arrival of Dan Lanning, who brought in Bo Nix, Dillon Gabriel, and Dante Moore. This announcement could signal that Moore is set to declare for the 2026 NFL Draft, though that is not yet final.

Isaiah Horton Landing with Texas A&M
Former Miami and Alabama wide receiver Isaiah Horton is signing with Texas A&M, according to On3Sports. The rising senior spent one season with the Crimson Tide, catching 42 passes for 511 yards and a team-high eight touchdowns. In 44 career games with the Canes and Tide, he's tallied 112 catches for 1,301 yards and 14 touchdown grabs. The Aggies did not secure Auburn transfer Cam Coleman, who committed to Texas, but Horton is a nice consolation prize. Texas A&M leading receiver KC Concepcion is NFL-bound after a breakout performance in the SEC, but Mario Craver will be back in College Station for 2026. Horton could help quarterback Marcel Reed take the next step as a passer as the Aggies look to get back to the College Football Playoff.

Cam Coleman Visiting Alabama on Friday
Former Auburn wide receiver Cam Coleman is on a visit to Alabama on Friday, according to On3Sports. The Alabama native entered the transfer portal following two seasons with the Tigers and has two years of eligibility remaining. Despite Auburn having an inept offense over the last two seasons, Coleman has flashed with 93 receptions for 1,306 yards and 13 touchdown grabs in 23 games. He's been one of the best wide receivers in the SEC since beginning his collegiate career, and the Tide will be tasked with replacing Germie Bernard (NFL) and Isaiah Horton (transfer portal) this offseason. With a big junior campaign, Coleman could be an early-first-round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft. His decision is a big one entering 2026. Texas, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech are considered Alabama's competition to land him.

Eric Singleton Jr. Enters Transfer Portal, Trending to Land at Florida
Auburn wide receiver Eric Singelton Jr. has officially entered the transfer portal, and On3's Pete Nakos expects him to land with Florida. The 20-year-old spent just one year at Auburn following two seasons at Georgia Tech. He was coached by offensive coordinator Buster Faulkner with the Yellow Jackets, who is now the Gators' offensive coordinator. In 36 career games, the speedster has collected 162 receptions for 2,002 yards and 12 touchdowns. He has 36 career rushing attempts for 201 yards and one score. This would be a big addition for new head coach Jon Sumrall, and Singleton already has familiarity with the offense Florida will run next season.

NCAA Denies Trinidad Chambliss a Sixth Year of Eligibility
The NCAA denied Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss' waiver for a sixth year of collegiate eligibility, according to ESPN's Pete Thamel. Chambliss spent four seasons at Ferris State before leading the Rebels to the College Football Playoff Semifinals in 2025. The 23-year-old has been seeking a medical redshirt after playing in just two games as a redshirt freshman at the FCS level. Ole Miss can still appeal the NCAA's decision, so there could be more developments ahead on this situation. After beginning the season as the backup to Austin Simmons, Chambliss broke out nationally and became a Heisman Trophy contender. In 15 games, he completed 66.1% of his passes for 3,937 yards, 22 touchdowns, and three interceptions. He tallied 527 yards and eight scores as a runner. If Ole Miss can't find a way to keep him, they are reportedly the favorites to land Auburn quarterback Duece Knight in the transfer portal.
