Donovan Peoples-Jones 2022 NFL Player Outlook: Is DPJ Primed For A Third Year Breakout?
2 years agoIn typical off-season hype fashion, Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones (DPJ) has taken a backseat in the fantasy community to the recently drafted David Bell. However, what is often overlooked is that Bell projects to be the slot replacement for Jarvis Landry, leaving DPJ open for the outside role opposite of Amari Cooper. Although the value of the role is very dependent on the Deshaun Watson situation, Brissett is a very serviceable backup and could support two fantasy receivers. Entering his third season, DPJ has shown that he can make big plays and produce with consistent targets. After all, as a rookie in 2020, he scored a 25-yard game-winning touchdown against the division rival Bengals with 11 seconds left. It's hard to see him breaking into the top 30 receivers (without Watson), but I think it could be very reasonable to see him crack the top 40. Ultimately, DPJ is a very solid late pick and has a shot to play a significant role in this new Browns' offense.
