Mike's fantasy baseball waiver wire hitters to add as category boosters for Week 13 of 2025. His top hitters to pick up or stream for HR, RBI, SB, AVG, and runs.
Welcome back to our Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Hitters - Category Boosters column for Week 13 of the 2025 MLB season. It's time to move on from some players we have been counting on who might have a lost season. By now, we have a pretty good idea of what our teams are and where we might need to augment our statistical categories. It can be hard to do, but tough calculus awaits us all.
This week, as we head to the end of June, we have a variety of enticing options for you. We have players like Brooks Lee and Casey Schmitt, who are eligible for multiple positions and are hitting the baseball well as the heat of summer kicks in. We also have post-hype players like Jo Adell and Mickey Moniak who are producing at high levels.
We will aim to give you three options for each of the five offensive categories in a standard five-by-five league. Our rule: All hitters will be listed according to their percentage of rostered players on Yahoo!, with a maximum of 50 percent. Let's look at names that might be under the radar, but who can help you now.

Runs Scored (R) - Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Boosters
Willi Castro, 2B/3B/SS/OF, Minnesota Twins (48% rostered)
Castro is being dropped in many leagues, but I would argue he is still a useful player on many fantasy rosters. He's hitting .319 this month with three home runs, seven RBI, and 13 runs scored, even as he bats in the lower third of the batting order. The guy is eligible at four different positions and is available in more than half of Yahoo leagues.
Javier Baez, 3B/SS/OF, Detroit Tigers (43% rostered)
Baez has made the most of his utility life in Detroit, getting starts at shortstop, third base, and the outfield. He continues to hit and play his way into the lineup most days. This month, the veteran is hitting .289 with three home runs, seven RBI, and a whopping 15 runs scored. Grab him and his multiple position eligibility if you need runs.
Isaac Collins, OF, Milwaukee Brewers (4% rostered)
Collins might be a surprise to see on this list, but he has been quietly productive, like many of his brethren in Milwaukee. I came across him while looking for outfield help in my NFBC leagues (GLARF and TGFBI). While I had heard the name, I was unaware of the productivity. Collins is hitting .320 in 64 June plate appearances, with a .453 OBP and three home runs, 12 RBI, and 13 runs scored.
He's available in just about every league, and you should take a look at him this week.
Home Runs (HR) - Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Boosters
Ryan McMahon, 3B, Colorado Rockies (38% rostered)
With the desert that is third base, McMahon should be rostered far more. He has six home runs this month, giving him 12 on the season. The bat speed is in the 84th percentile, and the average exit velocity is in the 98th percentile, as seen below. Even if you chalk some of it up to the Coors Field effect, hitting .281 there, he still has enough juice to roster on your team.
Jo Adell, OF, Los Angeles Angels (33% rostered)
Adell just keeps quietly hitting home runs. After hitting 20 all of last season, the post-hype sleeper has 16 this season, including nine this month. The batting average will likely never venture north of .250, but the power is real. He has settled into an everyday role and the number six spot in the batting order.
Cheap power is hard to find on the waiver wire, so take a deeper dive into Adell this week if you need outfield help and home runs.
Mickey Moniak, OF, Colorado Rockies (10% rostered)
Moniak is a fascinating player to me. A former number one overall pick, he is now on his third team, trying to find a home as an extra outfielder. But, he is hitting .359 with six home runs in June for the Rockies, and is playing right field and hitting all over the lineup as the team tries to find a winning combination.
One thing still intrigues me here: his bat speed is higher than league average, and he has an 11.3% barrel percentage right now. Will he keep it up? Hard to say, but he is hot right now, and worth the gamble on many rosters.
Runs Batted In (RBI) - Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Boosters
Nathaniel Lowe, 1B, Washington Nationals (47% rostered)
Before the year began, I wrote that Lowe would be a good candidate to knock in runs, suggesting he could set a career high this year in a burgeoning Washington lineup. The burly first baseman has 13 home runs and 52 RBI, and he would seem ready to surpass his career high of 82 set in 2023. The batting average is a bit of a drag (.228), but xBA calls for a slightly better and more usable .242.
He is going to play, and he will continue to drive in runs.
Sal Frelick, OF, Milwaukee Brewers (35% rostered)
Frelick is one of my favorite players to watch because he does a little bit of everything. I have selected him in this article before as someone to help with runs and stolen bases, but this week, he is here in the RBI category. Surprised? He just keeps hitting.
Frelick already has a career-high four home runs and has chipped in 14 stolen bases as well. His May and June stats are almost identical, and he has knocked in 11 runs this month, six over the last 10 days. His next RBI will set a career-high for Frelick. His move to the leadoff spot coincided with their current hot streak. Take a look at Frelick.
Stolen Bases (SB) - Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Boosters
Spencer Steer, 1B/OF, Cincinnati Reds (39% rostered)
I love that Steer is on the waiver wire, because he should not be. If you look at the splits below, you can see he is starting to become the player we have seen over the last couple of seasons. I suppose that the shoulder recovery has taken far longer, and with the summer heat coming, he is finally feeling closer to 100%.
Remember, the consensus was that he would not be ready for the start of the season, and he was. Steer also gives you eligibility at two positions, first base and outfield. A solid second half could be looming. His three stolen bases in June have come over the last 1o days.
Victor Scott II, OF, St. Louis Cardinals (18% rostered)
Look, I hear your argument: this guy cannot hit. And while that may be true to an extent, look below. Scott is in the 99th percentile for defensive range and spring speed. In fantasy, we often do not account for other attributes, like playing great defense or having tremendous speed.
You should accept those attributes because those skills lead to major league managers giving these guys ample playing time. While he may not hit for a high average, Scott will score runs and steal bases.
Tyler Freeman, SS/OF, Colorado Rockies (7% rostered)
Freeman is a surprise starter in Colorado, and he is useful when he is hitting. He has assumed the leadoff spot in Colorado, pushing Jordan Beck to the two spot. He's hitting .327 with nine steals, six of which have come in June, to go along with 13 runs scored in 78 plate appearances. Add in the middle infield and outfield eligibility, and you have a serviceable player that most people are ignoring.
Batting Average (AVG) - Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Boosters
Ernie Clement, 1B/2B/3B/SS, Toronto Blue Jays (22% rostered)
Clement has been dropped in many leagues due to the sense that he is not playing much anymore in Toronto. While it is true that his counting stats are down, one thing he is doing is putting the bat on the ball, hitting .380 in 81 plate appearances this month. He also has 15 runs scored this month.
Clement is getting most of the at-bats at third base right now, and if you need runs and a solid batting average, take a look at Clement, who also offers Swiss Army knife utility.
Casey Schmitt, 1B/2B/3B/SS, San Francisco Giants (19% rostered)
Schmitt has largely taken on the role of Tyler Fitzgerald from last year, a utility guy playing all over the field and hitting at a high clip. Taking over third base for the injured Matt Chapman, Schmitt is hitting .351 in June with three homers, 12 RBI, and 11 runs scored in 65 plate appearances. Ride the lightning here.
He will continue to play as long as Chapman is out and he remains productive at the plate.
Brooks Lee, 2B/3B/SS, Minnesota Twins (17% rostered)
Lee flies under the radar because many players will be looking for a more stylish profile. Yet Lee is batting third in a struggling Twins offense, and being productive: a .364 batting average, three home runs, 13 RBI, and 10 runs scored in June. Take advantage of players ignoring him and add an infield eligible player to your team.
