It was a tough Week 1 for the tight-end position, with many of the top names failing to produce. With that in mind, it's a new week, although the players listed on the injury report are starting to add up.
Being up-to-date on NFL injury news can give you an edge over your league mates in fantasy football. Now that the regular season has begun, fantasy managers should stay locked into the latest injury headlines.

Tommy Tremble Injury Update
Tremble is back on the injury report due to a hamstring issue. But at least he’s practicing, albeit in a limited capacity. He wasn’t available in Week 1 against the Saints.
As a result, Carolina relied on Ja'Tavion Sanders and Jordan Matthews to fill the void. Depending on how Tremble does at practice throughout the remainder of the week will tell a lot about his potential availability for Sunday’s matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers.
If Tremble can’t suit up for that one, Sanders and Matthews would likely reenter the picture. However, the Carolina offense didn’t look too hot in the opener, meaning nobody on the roster can be trusted from a fantasy standpoint.
David Njoku Injury Update
Njoku had four grabs for 44 yards in the loss to the Cowboys. He was also targeted five times. Unfortunately, the 28-year-old injured his ankle and was ruled out for the remainder of the contest.
Fantasy managers didn’t have to wait long to learn Njoku’s fate for Week 2, with head coach Kevin Stefanski already stating he won't play. Without Njoku, Jordan Akins is the favorite to climb the depth chart.
Browns HC Kevin Stefanski ruled out TE David Njoku for Sunday’s game at Jacksonville due to his ankle injury.

The Browns also bolstered the practice squad by adding Geoff Swaim, who could be elevated to the active roster ahead of Sunday’s clash with the Jaguars. But regardless of who fills in as the team’s tight end, fantasy managers should look in a different direction for a replacement for Njoku.
Jake Ferguson Injury Update
Ferguson caught three of his five targets for 15 yards in the Cowboys' win over the Cleveland Browns. Yet, he suffered a knee injury and exited the game.
Although many feared the worst, fantasy managers were encouraged to learn Ferguson had suffered a bone bruise. Without question, those injuries still aren’t easy to come back from, so he might not be in uniform for Week 2 versus the Saints.
Cowboys TE Jake Ferguson said the pain of his knee injury was a 10 on Sunday. It’s a zero today. The initial thought was that it was an ACL injury.
“Thankfully just a little bone bruise. I don’t even think it’s a Grade 1.”

If that’s the case, Luke Schoonmaker is anticipated to see the most snaps at the position. While there’s a chance he could find the end zone, his potential for targets from Dak Prescott isn’t promising.
Dalton Schultz Injury Update
The Cowboys aren’t the only team in Texas with tight-end issues, as Schultz didn’t practice on Wednesday because of a bum ankle. The veteran had only three catches for 15 yards against the Colts in Week 1.
Regrettably, he’s now in danger of missing Sunday’s clash with the Chicago Bears. If Schultz isn’t active, Brevin Jordan will do his best to pick up the slack.
With that said, the 2021 No. 147 overall pick has just 52 grabs for 528 yards and five scores throughout his career, meaning fantasy managers shouldn’t feel enthusiastic about putting him in their starting lineups.
Brock Bowers Injury Update
Bowers wasn’t a lock to play in Week 1 against the Los Angeles Chargers because of a foot injury. However, the rookie was out there, amassing a team-high six grabs with 58 receiving yards. He was a full participant at practice on Wednesday.
In their NFL debuts, Brock Bowers are Ladd McConkey led their respective teams in receptions.
Bowers: 58 yards on six receptions (9.7 AVG) for the #Raiders
McConkey: 39 yards on five receptions (7.8 AVG) with one touchdown for the #Chargers

Barring a setback, he should be able to avoid an injury designation for Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens.
Foster Moreau Injury Update
Moreau began his second season in New Orleans with a bang, catching all four targets for 43 yards and a touchdown in Week 1 versus the Carolina Panthers. Yet, he suffered a concussion and was listed as limited on Wednesday’s edition of the Saints’ injury report.
There’s a chance he’ll carry a questionable tag heading into Sunday’s showdown with the Cowboys. But if he isn’t healthy enough to get on the field, Taysom Hill should see more attention from Derek Carr.
While Hill isn’t always consistently productive, he’s been known to have some stellar fantasy showings throughout his career, meaning he can’t be ignored in any fantasy format.
Noah Fant Injury Update
Fant has been burdened by a toe issue for a while now. Still, he was available for the opener versus the Broncos. Yet, the veteran had only two catches for 11 yards.
There is a high probability Fant will play in Week 2 against the Patriots. But he likely won’t be featured in many fantasy lineups.
