Dennis Clausen

13588 articles

Dennis wasn’t always a hardcore fan of sports. Instead, he spent most of his time on the mat, focusing on Folkstyle, Freestyle, and Greco-Roman wrestling. He was also involved in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. However, Dennis eventually began watching basketball and football, where he developed an obsession with his hometown Brooklyn Nets while rekindling his love for the Cincinnati Bengals, a team he enjoyed using in Madden in the early 90s. Since then, he started writing about fantasy sports before joining RotoBaller, where he’s been for nearly a decade, mostly writing NBA and NFL news. He loves playing DFS, especially NBA. Dennis is a member of the FSWA and has been competing in the King’s Classic, a fantasy league consisting of fantasy football writers from various websites, since 2019. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter. He also loves video games, especially Madden, NBA2K, and Final Fantasy.

Anthony Edwards Back in Action on Wednesday Night

Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards (hamstring) will play on Wednesday night versus the Knicks. He missed the last four games because of a hamstring injury. Fortunately, the 24-year-old is one of the most durable players in the National Basketball Association, so he didn't need to stay on the shelf for too long. Edwards won't have […]

Zach LaVine Ruled Out Versus Golden State

Sacramento Kings guard Zach LaVine (back) won't suit up for Wednesday's clash against the Golden State Warriors. The 30-year-old is battling low back soreness, so fantasy managers will have to wait and see if he can get back on the floor versus OKC on Friday night. Domantas Sabonis (rib) also won't play, meaning the Kings […]

Jimmy Butler III Sidelined Versus Sacramento

Golden State Warriors forward Jimmy Butler III (back) won't play on Wednesday versus Sacramento. He carried an injury designation because of a low back strain heading into Tuesday's win over the Phoenix Suns. While Butler managed to get on the floor, he didn't last long, ending the night with only 14 minutes. It's unknown if […]

Jabari Smith Jr. Sidelined on Monday Night

Houston Rockets forward Jabari Smith Jr. (ankle) won't play versus the Mavericks. He sprained his right ankle during Saturday's win over the Boston Celtics. Fortunately, head coach Ime Udoka stated Smith's absence won't extend beyond this contest, meaning he should be back when the Rockets face the Grizzlies in Memphis on Wednesday night. Without the […]

Walker Kessler Out Again on Monday Night

Utah Jazz center Walker Kessler (shoulder) won't play on Monday versus Boston. The 24-year-old didn't travel with the Jazz for their four-game road trip, and he didn't play in Sunday's meeting with the Charlotte Hornets. Kessler will presumably miss a few more contests, although that may change depending on the results of testing. In the […]

Dylan Harper to "Miss Multiple Weeks"

According to ESPN's Shams Charania, San Antonio Spurs guard Dylan Harper (calf) will "miss multiple weeks." The rookie was injured during Sunday's loss to the Phoenix Suns and was observed leaving the arena in a walking boot. Luckily, an MRI confirmed he only suffered a calf strain. While "multiple weeks" doesn't specify exactly how long […]

Brandon Miller Out At Least Two More Weeks

Charlotte Hornets forward Brandon Miller (shoulder) will miss at least the next two weeks. The 22-year-old appeared in only two games this season before suffering a left shoulder subluxation during the October 25 matchup with the Philadelphia 76ers. As a result, he's missed the Hornets' last five contests. Miller will be re-evaluated in two weeks. […]

Kevin Porter Jr. Suffers a Knee Injury, Out at Least Four Weeks

Milwakee Bucks guard Kevin Porter Jr. (knee) will miss at least the next four weeks. The 2019 No. 30 overall pick suffered an ankle injury on opening night in the win over the Washington Wizards. Although he was nearing a return, he sustained a meniscus injury in his right knee during a recent on-court session […]

Ayo Dosunmu Sidelined for Rematch Versus the Knicks

Chicago Bulls guard Ayo Dosunmu (quadriceps) won't play in Sunday's rematch against the Knicks. These clubs met on Halloween night, with Dosunmu finishing with 22 points in 29 minutes from off the bench. Unfortunately, a left quad contusion will keep him out on Sunday, although it remains to been seen if he'll be back on […]

Walker Kessler to Undergo Further Testing on Injured Shoulder

Utah Jazz center Walker Kessler (shoulder) didn't travel with the team for the upcoming four-game road trip. He's already been ruled out for Sunday's meeting with the Charlotte Hornets. However, the latest update presumably means he may also miss the next three contests while undergoing additional testing on the preexisting shoulder issue. The 24-year-old is […]

Jusuf Nurkic Getting the Start on Sunday Night

Utah Jazz center Jusuf Nurkic will start in Sunday's game versus the Charlotte Hornets, his former team. Walker Kessler (shoulder) isn't available for this one. However, it appears there's a good chance Kessler may miss more time beyond Sunday's contest. As a result, Nurkic, averaging 7.8 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 1.4 steals in five appearances […]

Ryan Kalkbrenner Available Versus Utah

Charlotte Hornets center Ryan Kalkbrenner (personal) is available for Sunday's meeting with the Utah Jazz. He was listed as questionable due to personal reasons. However, the rookie will be on the floor versus a Jazz team that won't have Walker Kessler (shoulder). Kalkbrenner has had a decent inaugural campaign thus far, averaging 10.2 points, 7.0 […]

LaMelo Ball Won't Play on Sunday Night

Charlotte Hornets guard LaMelo Ball (ankle) won't play on Sunday versus the Utah Jazz. He was listed as doubtful earlier on Sunday because of right ankle impingement, so the latest update isn't surprising. However, assuming he's not dealing with anything serious and only taking the night off to rest, he should be back for Tuesday's […]

LaMelo Ball Not Expected to Play on Sunday

Charlotte Hornets guard LaMelo Ball (ankle) is doubtful for Sunday's game versus the Utah Jazz. He's carrying the designation because of right ankle impingement. However, he logged 33 minutes in Saturday's loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves, so he's likely taking the game off to rest before returning on Tuesday in New Orleans. Without Ball in […]

Kevon Looney Questionable Versus OKC

New Orleans Pelicans center Kevon Looney (knee) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The former Warrior suffered a proximal tibiofibular ligament sprain during the preseason and hasn't played in any of the Pels' five games to begin the year. While there's still a chance he won't be out there on Sunday […]

Raiders "Set a High Price" on Jakobi Meyers

According to Dianna Russini of The Athletic, the Las Vegas Raiders have "set a high price" on wide receiver Jakobi Meyers. It's no secret that the wideout wants to be traded. As expected, several teams have inquired about his availability in the trade market, with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Buffalo Bills seemingly the clubs with […]

Trey Benson Moving Closer Toward a Return

According to Arizona Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon, running back Trey Benson (knee) has been attending team meetings to "get his mind back on football." The 23-year-old suffered a torn meniscus in the Week 4 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. As a result, he underwent surgery and was placed on the Injured Reserve list. Benson […]

Miami "Highly Unlikely" to Trade Jaylen Waddle

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, a trade involving Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle is "highly unlikely." There have been reports that the Dolphins would consider moving him. However, Schefter added, citing a "well-placed source," dealing the wideout isn't anticipated for a "variety" of reasons, including Miami seeking "a 1-plus" in exchange. With the Fins […]

Is the Door Open for Zach Wilson to Start?

According to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport, it's possible Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa could be benched at some point this season. Although Rapoport added Tagovailoa's "play would have to really fall" off for head coach Mike McDaniel to consider a swap, it appears "a potential benching isn't off the table." There are many calling for […]

Eagles Looking to Trade for Jaelan Phillips

According to NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe, the Philadelphia Eagles are one of the teams mentioned that are interested in trading for Miami Dolphins linebacker Jaelan Phillips. Wolfe indicated previously that the Fins have "been hesitant" about a potential trade involving the 26-year-old. However, with the Dolphins not expected to do much throughout the remainder of […]

Tua Tagovailoa Benching "Not off the Table"

According to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport, Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa could be benched "at some point" this season. While Rapoport added that his "play would have to really fall off" for that to happen, a possible demotion is "not off the table." The 27-year-old has thrown for 1,779 yards, 15 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions […]

Chase Brown Looking to Build on Strong Week 8 Effort on Sunday Versus Chicago

Cincinnati Bengals running back Chase Brown scored a touchdown in the Week 1 win over the Cleveland Browns. Unfortunately, he had more than a few miserable outings in his following appearances before finally surpassing the 100-yard rushing mark in the Thursday night win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. The 25-year-old then had his best performance of […]

Tee Higgins a Risky, High-Upside Option Versus Chicago

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins caught six of his 10 targets for 96 yards and a touchdown in the Thursday night win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. While he was held to just one catch in the disappointing one-point loss to the New York Jets in Week 8, the reception at least resulted in another […]

Ja'Marr Chase Still a Top Fantasy Option No Matter Who is Under Center

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase entered the Week 8 loss to the New York Jets by catching at least one touchdown in each of his previous three games. While the former LSU Tiger didn't find the end zone in that one, he still had 12 catches for 91 yards. With the Bengals coming off […]

Jarrett Allen Won't Play on Friday Night

Cleveland Cavaliers center Jarrett Allen (finger) won't play on Friday night versus the Toronto Raptors. The Cavs were already down Darius Garland (toe). To make matters worse, Donovan Mitchell (knee) also won't suit up. As far as Allen is concerned, he suffered a non-displaced fracture of his left ring finger in Wednesday's loss to the […]

Anthony Black Starting Versus Charlotte

Orlando Magic guard Anthony Black will start in Thursday's game versus the Charlotte Hornets. Jalen Suggs (knee) will take the night off after logging 21 minutes in Wednesday's loss to the Detroit Pistons. Suggs will presumably be back on Saturday in Washington. Fow now, Black will roll with the first-five. The 21-year-old has averaged 11.6 […]

Dereck Lively II, Daniel Gafford Out Again on Wednesday

Dallas Mavericks centers Dereck Lively II (knee) and Daniel Gafford (ankle) will remain out for Wednesday's game against the Indiana Pacers. Both are working their way back and trending in the right direction. Unfortunately, Lively and Gafford will miss another contest. The Mavericks won't play again until Saturday versus the visiting Pistons, so there's a […]

Anthony Davis Available Versus Indiana

Dallas Mavericks forward/center Anthony Davis (Achilles) will play on Wednesday night versus the Indiana Pacers. It's not uncommon to see AD on the injury report. However, unlike many times in the past, he is good to go. The 32-year-old has played as well as expected during the 2025 campaign, averaging 25.0 points, 11.8 rebounds, 1.8 […]

Daniel Gafford Remains Out Versus OKC

Dallas Mavericks center Daniel Gafford (ankle) won't play on Monday versus OKC. The 27-year-old has appeared on the injury report all season. Although he's flirted with various designations, he hasn't played. With Dereck Lively II (knee) also sidelined, Anthony Davis will hold things down at the five. Max Christie is the favorite to slide into […]

Dereck Lively II Out on Monday Evening

Dallas Mavericks center Dereck Lively II (knee) won't play on Monday night against OKC. The 21-year-old hasn't done much for fantasy managers this season, averaging 5.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks in the first three contests of the 2025 campaign. He's dealing with a knee contusion, an injury he picked up in Sunday's 139-129 […]
