Dennis Clausen

14076 articles

Dennis wasn’t always a hardcore fan of sports. Instead, he spent most of his time on the mat, focusing on Folkstyle, Freestyle, and Greco-Roman wrestling. He was also involved in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. However, Dennis eventually began watching basketball and football, where he developed an obsession with his hometown Brooklyn Nets while rekindling his love for the Cincinnati Bengals, a team he enjoyed using in Madden in the early 90s. Since then, he started writing about fantasy sports before joining RotoBaller, where he’s been for nearly a decade, mostly writing NBA and NFL news. He loves playing DFS, especially NBA. Dennis is a member of the FSWA and has been competing in the King’s Classic, a fantasy league consisting of fantasy football writers from various websites, since 2019. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter. He also loves video games, especially Madden, NBA2K, and Final Fantasy.

Cam Thomas Cleared to Return on Saturday Night

Brooklyn Nets guard Cam Thomas (hamstring) will play on Saturday against Minnesota. He hasn't been on the floor in nearly two months, so he'll presumably see fewer than the 28.3 minutes he averaged before suffering the hamstring strain. However, despite the chance of a reduced workload, Thomas is a must-start in all fantasy setups. It's […]

Kel'el Ware Upgraded to Available on Saturday Night

Miami Heat forward/center Kel'el Ware (quadriceps) will play on Saturday against Indiana. With Bam Adebayo (back) sidelined on Friday night, Ware took advantage, finishing with 16 points, 13 rebounds, one steal, and one block. It's unknown exactly when he received the quad contusion. However, fantasy managers weren't overly concerned, considering he carried a probable designation […]

Aaron Nesmith Back on Saturday Night

Indiana Pacers forward Aaron Nesmith (knee) will play on Saturday against Miami. The 2020 No. 14 overall pick averaged a career-high 15.5 points and 4.5 rebounds before a sprained left MCL put him on the Injury Report for over a month. He'll presumably be eased back into action, so his fantasy ceiling could be capped […]

Evan McPherson a Top Fantasy Kicker in Week 17

Cincinnati Bengals kicker Evan McPherson made a career-high six field goals in the Week 13 win over the Baltimore Ravens. Unfortunately, he's been relatively quiet in the last three weeks by draining his only attempt during that span. All things considered, the 26-year-old is viewed as a top fantasy option at the position in Week […]

Mike Gesicki a Viable Streaming Option in Week 17

Cincinnati Bengals tight end Mike Gesicki has seen an uptick in production of late by scoring a touchdown in two of his previous three appearances. While the veteran had only four catches in the last two weeks, he's still playing better than most anticipated. With a favorable matchup on the horizon against an injury-plagued Cardinals […]

Samaje Perine in the Flex Conversation in Week 17?

Cincinnati Bengals running back Samaje Perine scored a touchdown in the 45-21 win over the Miami Dolphins. While Chase Brown remains the No. 1 option out of the backfield, as expected, Perine has stayed involved by logging double-digit carries in two of his previous four appearances. With a favorable matchup against a weak, injury-plagued Cardinals […]

Tee Higgins a Top Fantasy Option in Week 17

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins only has 49 catches for 720 yards in 13 games this season. On the other hand, he's certainly made up for it by amassing 10 touchdowns, tying him with Jaxon Smith-Njigba for the third-highest mark at the position. Granted, fantasy managers would love to see more volume for the […]

Ja'Marr Chase in Line for Best Showing of the Year Versus Arizona?

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase hasn't scored a touchdown since the Week 7 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, the wideout continues to produce at an exceptional level and has benefited from his league-leading 166 targets. The Bengals aren't going to the playoffs. Still, the team will look for a strong finish to the […]

Chase Brown to Have Another Dominant Performance in Week 17?

Cincinnati Bengals running back Chase Brown is coming off his best performance of the 2025 campaign. In the Week 16 win over the Miami Dolphins, he would finish with 66 yards off 12 attempts (5.5 YPC), adding four grabs for 43 yards. Even better, Brown found the end zone three times on the afternoon. With […]

Joe Burrow Looking to Stay Hot After Quality Week 16 Effort

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow looked awesome in the 45-21 win over the Miami Dolphins. The signal-caller would finish that one by throwing for 309 yards and four touchdowns off 25-for-32 passing. After the stellar showing, he was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week. Without question, it's been another frustrating year for the […]

Kris Murray Will Play Against the Clippers

Portland Trail Blazers forward Kris Murray (neck) will play on Friday against the Clippers. He was initially listed as questionable because of right cervical soreness. Fortunately, the 25-year-old was upgraded to probable, paving way for his availability and avoiding his first absence since the win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on December 3. With that said, […]

Robert Williams III Available on Friday Night

Portland Trail Blazers center Robert Williams III (knee) is available for Friday's matchup with the Los Angeles Clippers. He wasn't available in the loss to Orlando on Tuesday. However, despite popping back up on the injury report ahead of this one, the 28-year-old will suit up. Williams has averaged 6.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.5 […]

VJ Edgecombe Available on Friday

Philadelphia 76ers guard VJ Edgecombe (illness) will play on Friday against the Bulls. The rookie is having a fantastic first season in the National Basketball Association, averaging 16.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.3 steals while shooting 38.3% from behind the arc. With production like that, Edgecombe should remain starting in all fantasy setups, especially with […]

Dominick Barlow Will Suit Up Against Chicago

Philadelphia 76ers forward Dominick Barlow (illness) will play on Friday against Chicago after missing Tuesday's loss to the Brooklyn Nets. The 22-year-old is having a productive season, averaging career-highs in points (9.1), rebounds (5.6), and blocks (1.0). He'll have a favorable matchup versus a Bulls team that has struggled defensively throughout the 2025 campaign. Barlow […]

Collin Murray-Boyles Good to Go Versus Washington

Toronto Raptors forward Collin Murray-Boyles (illness) is available on Friday against Washington. Like Scottie Barnes, Murray-Boyles popped up on the injury report because of an illness. However, it appears he's at least feeling well enough to suit up. The 2025 No. 9 overall pick has had a few sound fantasy showings this season. Although he's […]

Scottie Barnes Upgraded to Available Against Washington

Toronto Raptors forward Scottie Barnes (illness) will play on Friday against Washington. The 24-year-old has averaged 19.3 points, 8.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.6 blocks, and 1.3 steals. Even better, he's shooting a career-high 36.4% from deep while appearing in all 31 of the Raptors' contests this season. Fortunately, despite popping up on the injury report […]

Nikola Jovic Cleared to Play on Friday

Miami Heat forward Nikola Jovic (elbow) will return from a four-game absence on Friday against Atlanta. Despite being in the league for four years, Jovic hasn't improved much from a statistical standpoint, averaging only 7.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.6 assists. With Bam Adebayo (back) and Tyler Herro (toe) ruled out, there's a chance he […]

Pelle Larsson Back on Friday Night

Miami Heat guard Pelle Larsson (ankle) will play on Friday against Atlanta after missing the last five games. The 24-year-old has averaged 8.7 points, 3.2 assists, and 2.5 rebounds this season. Of course, he's played a little better in his 16 appearances as a starter. There's a chance he could find himself back in the […]

Bam Adebayo Will Miss Friday's Game Versus Atlanta

Miami Heat forward/center Bam Adebayo (back) won't play on Friday against Atlanta. He hasn't missed a game in over a month. However, Adebayo is dealing with lower back soreness, so fantasy managers are hoping to see him back out there on Saturday versus the Indiana Pacers. While Bam is sidelined, Kel'el Ware should get all […]

Jalen Suggs Won't Play Versus Charlotte

Orlando Magic guard Jalen Suggs (hip) won't play on Friday against Charlotte. He was listed as doubtful heading into this one after missing the last four contests because of a left hip contusion. Unfortunately, his extended absence will continue on Friday night. With Suggs still sidelined, Tyus Jones is in line to remain in the […]

Mason Plumlee Ruled Out Again on Friday

Charlotte Hornets center Mason Plumlee (groin) won't play on Friday against Orlando. With Ryan Kalkbrenner (elbow) sidelined, Plumlee got the start in Monday's loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Unfortunately, he suffered a groin strain during the contest and will now miss another game. With Plumlee and Kalkbrenner off the court, Moussa Diabate is expected to […]

Jalen Suggs Not Expected to Face Charlotte

Orlando Magic guard Jalen Suggs (hip) is not anticipated to play on Friday versus Charlotte. He's already missed four games because of a left hip contusion. While the doubtful designation at least suggests the 24-year-old is trending in a favorable direction, it appears he'll miss another contest on Friday night. If that's the case, Tyus […]

Jordan Walsh Likely Returning on Friday

Boston Celtics forward Jordan Walsh (illness) is expected to play on Friday against Indiana. With Jayson Tatum (Achilles) sidelined, Walsh has stepped up for the C's throughout the 2025 campaign, averaging 7.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.2 steals while shooting 44.4% from downtown. He didn't suit up when these clubs met on Monday because of […]

Ryan Kalkbrenner Remains Out on Friday

Charlotte Hornets center Ryan Kalkbrenner (elbow) won't play on Friday night against Orlando, marking his third-straight absence. The rookie has started 25 times this season, averaging 8.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks in those appearances. With Mason Plumlee (groin) also sidelined, the Hornets will need to rely on Moussa Diabate to handle most of […]

Rui Hachimura Back in Action on Christmas

Los Angeles Lakers forward Rui Hachimura (groin) will play on Thursday against the Rockets after missing the last two games. The 27-year-old has played as well as expected throughout the 2025 campaign, averaging 13.3 points and 3.8 rebounds while shooting 45.6% from behind the arc. Although Hachimura should see at least 30 minutes of action, […]

Luka Doncic Cleared to Play on Christmas Night

Los Angeles Lakers guard Luka Doncic (leg) is available for Thursday's Christmas showdown with the Rockets. He sustained a left leg contusion in the loss to the Clippers on Saturday and didn't suit up on Tuesday night against the Phoenix Suns. Marcus Smart ended up getting the start in that one, finishing with 14 points […]

Tristan da Silva Remains Sidelined Against Portland

Orlando Magic forward Tristan da Silva (shoulder) won't play on Tuesday versus Portland, marking his fourth-straight absence. He was getting consistent work before injuring his shoulder in the loss to the New York Knicks on December 13. However, now that da Silva will miss another contest, Jett Howard and Noah Penda should remain more involved, […]

Goga Bitadze Out Against Portland

Orlando Magic center Goga Bitadze (knee) won't play on Tuesday against Portland. This will be his first absence of the year. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day, with his next chance to suit up coming on Friday versus the Charlotte Hornets. Without Bitadze in the mix, that could mean even more minutes for Wendell Carter […]

Cedric Coward Unavailable on Tuesday Night

Memphis Grizzlies forward Cedric Coward (heel) won't play on Tuesday against Utah, marking his first absence of the 2025 campaign. The Grizzlies are also down Ja Morant (ankle), Brandon Clarke (calf), and Vince Williams Jr. (knee), meaning fantasy managers could see additional statistical contributions from Jaylen Wells, Cam Spencer, Jaren Jackson Jr., Santi Aldama, and […]

Zach LaVine to Miss at Least One More Week

Sacramento Kings guard Zach LaVine (ankle) will be re-evaluated in one week. He's already missed three games as a result of a sprained left ankle. Fortunately, he's progressing, although the latest update means he won't suit up for upcoming meetings with the Pistons, Mavericks, Lakers, and Clippers, at the very least. With Domantas Sabonis (knee) […]
