FanDuel NFL DFS Lineup Picks for Week 9 - Daily Fantasy Football

Dennis Clausen highlights the top FanDuel NFL DFS lineup picks for Week 9 of the 2021 season, and some value sleepers for your daily fantasy football rosters.

The landscape of the 2021-22 season has changed dramatically, and it only took a few days for it to happen. Fantasy football's top back, Derrick Henry, underwent surgery on Tuesday to repair a break of the fifth metatarsal in his right foot, an injury he sustained during the win over the Colts. Henry seemingly suffered the Jones Avulsion during the first quarter, although surprisingly, he would go on to finish with 68 yards on an unbelievable 28 carries. Nonetheless, while he does have a chance to play again, it is more likely that he doesn't suit up for the remainder of the year. Interestingly enough, Adrian Peterson, the league's fifth all-time leading rusher, was brought in to lessen at least some of the blow caused by Henry's untimely and unfortunate fracture.

In other developments around the National Football League, linebacker Von Miller, who has spent his entire 10-year career in Denver, was traded to the Rams. He will go down as arguably the greatest Broncos' defensive player ever, compiling 110.5 sacks throughout 142 games. Aaron Rodgers was also in the news, and it certainly wasn't for a good reason, as the reigning MVP has reportedly tested positive for COVID-19. While it's confirmed that he won't play in Week 9 against Kansas City, there remains a chance that he won't suit up for the Packers ever again. As a result, Rodgers' longtime backup, Jordan Love, will be under center against the Chiefs and could end up potentially overthrowing his predecessor for the starting gig moving ahead.

In this article, I will be providing you with my Week 9 daily fantasy football lineup picks for FanDuel’s “Main Slate.” These lineups can vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced players and value picks on FanDuel. FanDuel Quarterbacks - Week 9 DFS Lineup Picks

Josh Allen, QB - @ JAC ($9,000)

Allen had a rough start to the Bills' Week 8 matchup against the Dolphins. Yet, just when everyone thought he would be a bust, he managed to get his act together to finish with nearly 30 fantasy points. Although it's sometimes a good thing to go against the crowd, this certainly shouldn't be one of those cases. Bottom line, the Jags are garbage, and there are a million reasons to believe that Allen is the favorite to finish as the top option at the position to end Week 9.

Lamar Jackson, QB - vs. MIN ($8,300)

For those still not convinced that Allen is the right fit for their fantasy lineup or are just unwilling to spend that kind of dough, consider Jackson a viable alternative. While the former MVP will be somewhat challenged by a semi-capable Vikings defense, he arguably has the safest floor out of any quarterback on the slate. Minnesota is banged up defensively, though, and if Latavius Murray doesn't play because of an ankle issue, there may be a few more rushing attempts on tap for the scrambling signal-caller.

Jordan Love, QB - @ KC ($6,000)

It's unfortunate Aaron Rodgers won't be available against Kansas City, but his absence creates a sweet value opportunity that some will gladly be happy to try and capitalize on. Although Love will be making his first career start, he has many things going for him heading into this one. We know the Chiefs' D isn't very good and has allowed over 2,100 passing yards this year. Additionally, things got even more promising for the 23-year-old on Thursday after it was reported that Davante Adams, who missed the Thursday Night win over the Cardinals, will be available on Sunday. As a result, Love certainly has a ton of upside in Week 9. He isn't a cash option, but if he can smash his value, which could foreseeably happen, taking the risk can undoubtedly pay off in GPP contests.

Also Consider: Patrick Mahomes ($8,500), Justin Herbert ($7,600-questionable), Tua Tagovailoa ($7,300)

FanDuel Running Backs - Week 9 DFS Lineup Picks

Aaron Jones, RB - @ KC ($8,500)

Jones has only surpassed 100 yards on the ground once all year, doing it back in Week 4 against Pittsburgh. Yet, he makes up for it on the receiving end. The veteran caught seven of his 11 targets against the Cardinals last Thursday night, and he has been one of Aaron Rodger's go-to Red Zone options this season. Although we don't know what kind of rapport Jones will have with the debuting Jordan Love, it's logical to believe he will unquestionably be a safety blanket if things start to get rough for the young signal-caller. Even with Davante Adams back in the lineup, there is still plenty of room for Jones to get his fair share of Love in Week 9.

Joe Mixon, RB - @ CLE ($7,400)

No matter how well Mixon plays, he still hasn't done enough to make the DFS community trust him. Sure, he's had a rocky past that was filled with injuries and inconsistent play. Still, the former Sooner looks like a new man this season. Mixon has seven touchdowns this season, with two of them coming last Sunday during the overtime loss to the New York Jets. On top of that, he also leads the league in broken tackles while ranking fourth in yards after contact. Overall, Mixon isn't the most imposing rusher on the planet, and his workload has decreased since the start of the year. Yet, he's benefited from an enhanced offensive line and has also established himself as one of the top pass-catching backs throughout the league.

Also Consider: Dalvin Cook ($8,800), Najee Harris ($8,700), Ezekiel Elliott ($8,200-questionable), Myles Gaskin ($6,100-GPP only)

FanDuel Wide Receivers - Week 9 DFS Lineup Picks

Ja'Marr Chase, WR - @ CLE ($7,900)

Barring injury, Chase will probably finish as the Rookie of the Year award winner. Presently, he has nearly 800 receiving yards, which is good for third overall behind Deebo Samuel and Cooper Kupp and one spot above Davante Adams, who, in all fairness, did miss a game. Likewise, the former LSU Tiger has seven trips to the end zone, scoring a touchdown in five of his seven appearances this year. His 139 yards after contact puts him at the top of the rankings, and so do his six receptions of at least 40 yards. There literally is no stopping this guy, and although it's a little early, Chase is already well on his way to becoming one of the best wideouts ever to play the game. He has plenty of momentum at the present moment, and until he starts to slow down, keep him rolling.

Hunter Renfrow, WR - @ NYG ($5,600)

With Henry Ruggs III out of the picture for obvious reasons, Renfrow should see his numbers increase moving forward. The Clemson Alum is now the Raiders' top option at the position, and he currently leads the team in receiving yards. We know Darren Waller should command plenty of attention from Derek Carr against the Giants on Sunday (if he plays), but Renfrow should get enough looks as well to get something going.

Also Consider: Cooper Kupp ($9,400), Tyreek Hill (8,500-questionable), Jaylen Waddle ($6,100)

FanDuel Tight Ends - Week 9 DFS Lineup Picks

Darren Waller, TE - @ NYG ($6,800)

Waller is listed as questionable heading into the Week 9 matchup against the Giants due to a bum ankle. He didn't play in Week 7 because of it, but after the team had Week 8 off, he managed to return to practice on Wednesday, which is a good sign surrounding his availability against New York. The 29-year-old has accounted for over 20 percent of the target share this season, better than nearly every tight end in the league. That number should increase in the weeks ahead, so if Waller can go on Sunday, get him in your lineup.

Also Consider: Travis Kelce ($7,800), Tyler Higbee ($5,200)
