Dennis Clausen

13594 articles

Dennis wasn’t always a hardcore fan of sports. Instead, he spent most of his time on the mat, focusing on Folkstyle, Freestyle, and Greco-Roman wrestling. He was also involved in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. However, Dennis eventually began watching basketball and football, where he developed an obsession with his hometown Brooklyn Nets while rekindling his love for the Cincinnati Bengals, a team he enjoyed using in Madden in the early 90s. Since then, he started writing about fantasy sports before joining RotoBaller, where he’s been for nearly a decade, mostly writing NBA and NFL news. He loves playing DFS, especially NBA. Dennis is a member of the FSWA and has been competing in the King’s Classic, a fantasy league consisting of fantasy football writers from various websites, since 2019. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter. He also loves video games, especially Madden, NBA2K, and Final Fantasy.

Anthony Edwards Uncertain for the Opener

Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards (back) is questionable for Wednesday's matchup with the Trail Blazers. The 24-year-old is battling back spasms. Although his injury designation suggests he has a chance of suiting up, fantasy managers should monitor things throughout the day on Monday. The 24-year-old averaged a career-high 27.6 points last season, adding 5.7 rebounds, […]

Daniel Gafford Not Expected to Play Versus San Antonio

Dallas Mavericks center Daniel Gafford (ankle) is listed as doubtful ahead of Wednesday's game against the Spurs. Head coach Jason Kidd indicated on Tuesday morning that Gafford was questionable. However, his designation on the injury reports suggests he won't be out there for the opener. With Anthony Davis and Dereck Lively II likely to see […]

Kel'el Ware Questionable for Wednesday Night

Miami Heat center Kel'el Ware (ankle) is questionable for Wednesday's meeting in Orlando. The 21-year-old averaged 9.3 points, 7.4 boards, and 1.1 blocks last season and is projected to take a leap in his sophomore campaign. However, he rolled his ankle at the end of Tuesday's practice, putting his availability for the opener in jeopardy. […]

OG Anunoby Likely Available on Wednesday Evening

New York Knicks forward OG Anunoby (ankle) is listed as probable heading into Wednesday's opener against the Cavs. The injury report doesn't look good for New York, with the Knicks already ruling out Mitchell Robinson (ankle) and Josh Hart (back). To make matters worse, Karl-Anthony Towns (quadriceps) is questionable. Anunoby is coming off a fantastic […]

Karl-Anthony Towns Questionable for the Opener

New York Knicks center Karl-Anthony Towns (quadriceps) is questionable for Wednesday's opener versus the Cleveland Cavaliers. It's been known KAT is dealing with this issue, although it's unknown if it will keep him out for the first game of the 2025 campaign. Mitchell Robinson (ankle) has already been ruled out, so another absence at the […]

Toumani Camara Gets Four-Year Contract Extension from Portland

According to ESPN's Shams Charania, Portland Trail Blazers forward Toumani Camara agreed to a four-year, $82 million extension with the team. He averaged a career-high 11.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.5 steals in 2024. Without question, the Blazers see something in the 25-year-old, who has emerged as a reliable two-way player since entering […]

Shaedon Sharpe, Blazers Agree on a Contract Extension

According to ESPN's Shams Charania, Portland Trail Blazers guard Shaedon Sharpe agreed to a four-year, $90 million contract extension with the club. The 2022 No. 7 overall pick is coming off his best season, averaging a career-high 18.5 points during the 2024 campaign. With the Blazers dealing Anfernee Simons to the Boston Celtics in the […]

Kevin Durant Lands Two-Year Contract Extension with Houston

According to ESPN's Shams Charania, Houston Rockets forward Kevin Durant agreed to a two-year, $90 million contract extension with the team. He was eligible for more. However, the 37-year-old was willing to take less. Durant was traded to the Rockets in July after spending the last few seasons with the Phoenix Suns, most recently averaging […]

Domantas Sabonis to Miss at Least a Few Games, Will be Re-Evaluated in One Week

Sacramento Kings center Domantas Sabonis (hamstring) won't play in the opener versus the Phoenix Suns. He'll also be sidelined for the October 24 matchup with the Utah Jazz. The 29-year-old was injured during the October 15 preseason meeting with the Los Angeles Clippers and was diagnosed with a Grade 1 hamstring strain. He will be […]

Josh Jacobs "a True Game-Time Decision" for Week 7

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs (illness) is considered "a true game-time decision" for the week 7 meeting with the Arizona Cardinals. He's still listed as questionable. However, Schefter added that the team won't know if the veteran can suit up until Sunday. Jacobs has played well throughout the […]

Kyler Murray Expected to Return in Week 9

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray (foot), who is not expected to play in Sunday's game against the Packers, is in line to return for the Monday night meeting with the Cowboys on November 3, after the team's Week 8 bye. Murray appeared to have a chance to suit up in […]

Brock Bowers Not Expected to Play on Sunday, "Good Chance" he Returns After Bye

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers (knee) isn't expected to suit up for Sunday's AFC West showdown with the Chiefs. If that's indeed the case, it will mark his third straight absence. The 22-year-old began the season by catching five of his eight targets for 103 yards in the […]

Denzel Perryman Activated Off Injured Reserve

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Los Angeles Chargers activated linebacker Denzel Perryman (ankle) ahead of the Week 7 matchup with the Colts. The 32-year-old played sparingly this season, suffering an ankle injury during the Week 1 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Brazil. Unfortunately, that landed him on the Injured Reserve list. Perryman […]

Dre Greenlaw Activated off Injured Reserve

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Broncos activated linebacker Dre Greenlaw (quadriceps) off the Injured Reserve list. As a result, the 28-year-old is expected to suit up for Sunday's contest versus the New York Giants, although he's currently still listed as questionable. He spent his entire career in San Francisco, where he totaled 455 tackles […]

Marquez Valdes-Scantling Released by the 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers released wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling (calf) on Saturday. The veteran wideout signed with the Niners in August. However, he wasn't relevant from a fantasy standpoint, catching only four of his eight targets for 22 yards in five appearances before being placed on the Injured Reserve list because of a calf injury. […]

Christian Kirk Won't Play on Monday Night

Houston Texans wide receiver Christian Kirk (hamstring) won't play on Monday night versus the Seattle Seahawks. The wideout was limited during Friday's practice before not suiting up for Saturday's session. It's unknown how severe the injury is. However, it's not good news for a player who's struggled to stay healthy all year. Kirk has appeared […]

Ja'Tavion Sanders Cleared to Play Versus the Jets

Carolina Panthers tight end Ja'Tavion Sanders (ankle) doesn't carry an injury designation heading into Sunday's matchup versus the Jets. The 22-year-old was trending in the right direction after logging full practice sessions on Thursday and Friday, so he'll make his return after suffering an ankle injury in the Week 3 win over the Atlanta Falcons. […]

Grant Calcaterra Ruled Out Against Minnesota

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Grant Calcaterra (oblique) won't play in Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings. The 26-year-old suffered an oblique injury during the Week 5 loss to the Denver Broncos and wasn't available for the Thursday night divisional clash with the New York Giants. He didn't practice all week, so it's unknown how close […]

Jalin Hyatt Cleared to Suit Up Versus Denver

New York Giants wide receiver Jalin Hyatt (ankle) no longer carries an injury designation heading into Sunday's game versus the Denver Broncos. The wideout was limited at practice throughout the week. Fortunately, he'll be out there, which is good news, considering the G-Men won't have Darius Slayton (hamstring) in Week 7. Hyatt has been quiet […]

Ashton Dulin Ruled Out Against the Chargers

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Ashton Dulin (chest) won't play in Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Chargers. He didn't practice all week, so the latest update shouldn't be surprising to anyone. The 28-year-old hasn't done much this season, totaling three grabs for 66 yards while amassing 15 yards off two carries. With Josh Downs (concussion) […]

Timberwolves Exercise Team Option on Rob Dillingham

The Minnesota Timberwolves exercised the team option on guard Rob Dillingham, the team announced in a press release on Saturday. The 20-year-old didn't do much in his first season in the league in 2024, averaging only 4.5 points and 1.0 rebounds. Still, with Mike Conley not getting any younger and Nickeil Alexander-Walker no longer on […]

Scotty Pippen Jr. to Undergo Surgery, Out at Least 12 Weeks

According to ESPN's Shams Charania, Memphis Grizzlies guard Scotty Pippen Jr. (toe) will undergo surgery on his left big toe and will be re-evaluated in 12 weeks. The 24-year-old averaged 9.9 points, 4.4 assists, and 1.3 steals in 79 appearances last season. While he wasn't a day-to-day producer, he played considerably better in his 21 […]

Knicks Cut Ties with Garrison Mathews

According to Stefan Bondy of the New York Post, the Knicks waived guard Garrison Mathews. The 28-year-old bounced around the league before agreeing to a deal with the Knicks heading into training camp. He played relatively well in four preseason games, averaging 6.8 points while shooting 41.2% from behind the three-point line. However, New York […]

Dalano Banton Waived by the Mavericks

The Mavericks waived guard/forward Dalano Banton, the team announced on Friday. The 2021 No. 46 overall pick signed a non-guaranteed deal heading into training camp. However, most assumed he was a long shot to make the opening night roster, so the latest isn't much of a surprise. Banton has spent time with various clubs around […]

Precious Achiuwa Waived by Miami

According to Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel, the Heat waived forward/center Precious Achiuwa. The 26-year-old most recently suited up for the Knicks during the 2024 campaign. Although he wasn't a consistent producer, he averaged 12.9 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 1.4 steals in 10 appearances in the starting lineup. Achiuwa inked a non-guaranteed […]

Mavericks Waive Dennis Smith Jr.

The Mavericks waived guard Dennis Smith Jr., the team announced on Friday. The veteran began his career with the Mavs in 2017 and has bounced around the league ever since. He most recently suited up for the Brooklyn Nets, where he averaged 6.6 points, 3.6 assists, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.2 steals. Smith was on a […]

Kendrick Bourne Looking for Another Productive Game in Week 7

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Kendrick Bourne has shone as of late. Although the wideout still hasn't scored a touchdown, he's certainly made up for it by combining for 15 catches (20 targets) for 284 yards in his last two appearances. With Brock Purdy (toe) still out, Mac Jones should continue to look in his […]

Jauan Jennings Good to Go in Week 7

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings (ribs, ankle, shoulder) practiced in full on Friday and doesn't carry an injury designation heading into Sunday night's game against the Falcons. The 28-year-old has been banged up all year. Unfortunately, he hasn't looked the best, catching only 10 passes for 136 yards and one touchdown. Ricky Pearsall […]

George Kittle Expected to Play With No Limitations in Week 7

San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle (hamstring) was limited at practice on Wednesday and Thursday. However, he logged a full session on Friday and doesn't carry an injury designation heading into the Week 7 meeting with Atlanta. The Pro Bowl tight end is still on Injured Reserve, but the Niners are expected to officially […]

Christian McCaffrey Facing a Tough Falcons Defense on Sunday Night

San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey appears back on track after a forgettable 2024 campaign. While the 29-year-old is currently averaging a career-low 3.1 yards per carry, he has more than made up for it by catching 46 of his 60 targets for 444 yards and three touchdowns in the 49ers' first six contests. […]
