Dennis Clausen

1847 articles

Dennis wasn’t always a hardcore fan of sports. Instead, he spent most of his time on the mat, focusing on Folkstyle, Freestyle, and Greco-Roman wrestling. He was also involved in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. However, Dennis eventually began watching basketball and football, where he developed an obsession with his hometown Brooklyn Nets while rekindling his love for the Cincinnati Bengals, a team he enjoyed using in Madden in the early 90s. Since then, he started writing about fantasy sports before joining RotoBaller, where he’s been for nearly a decade, mostly writing NBA and NFL news. He loves playing DFS, especially NBA. Dennis is a member of the FSWA and has been competing in the King’s Classic, a fantasy league consisting of fantasy football writers from various websites, since 2019. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter. He also loves video games, especially Madden, NBA2K, and Final Fantasy.

Jusuf Nurkic Cleared to Suit Up on Saturday Night

Utah Jazz center Jusuf Nurkic (illness) will play on Saturday against Miami. He popped up on the injury report because of an illness, carrying a questionable tag. Nurkic has amassed two-straight triple-doubles, most recently finishing with 17 points, 14 assists, and 11 boards in Thursday's loss to the San Antonio Spurs. While it's hard to […]

Nolan Traore Ruled Out on Sunday

Brooklyn Nets guard Nolan Traore (illness) won't play on Sunday against the Clippers. The rookie had a career-high 21 points in Friday's double-overtime loss to the Boston Celtics. With Cam Thomas (ankle) ruled out, Traore would have been in line for more action, especially since he had double-digit scoring performances in three of his last […]

Aaron Gordon Ruled Out Against Memphis

Denver Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon (hamstring) won't play on Sunday against Memphis. The 30-year-old played on Friday versus the Bucks, the second of a back-to-back. Unfortunately, he exited that contest because of a right hamstring strain, an injury that kept him off the floor for six weeks earlier in the season. There hasn't been much […]

Cam Thomas Won't Play on Sunday Against the Clippers

Brooklyn Nets guard Cam Thomas (ankle) won't play on Sunday against the Clippers. The 24-year-old has already missed plenty of time this season. He's also struggled statistically, averaging 16.2 points, his lowest since his sophomore campaign. Thomas tweaked his ankle during Friday's double-overtime loss to the Boston Celtics, so it's unknown how long he'll be […]

Jalen Suggs Available on Saturday Night

Orlando Magic guard Jalen Suggs (knee) will play on Saturday against Cleveland. His return will mark the end of an eight-game absence caused by a right MCL contusion. The 2021 No. 5 overall pick is expected to reclaim his spot in the starting lineup, although he'll likely be limited for at least a few contests. […]

Devin Booker Injures Ankle on Friday, Requires Assistance Off the Court

Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker (ankle) exited Friday's loss to the Atlanta Hawks and did not return. The 29-year-old was cooking, amassing 31 points before abruptly exiting late in the third quarter due to a sprained right ankle late. He was in obvious discomfort and required assistance off the court, so it certainly doesn't look […]

RJ Barrett Starting on Friday

Toronto Raptors forward RJ Barrett (ankle) will play on Friday against Portland. He's missed the last seven games because of a sprained ankle. While the former Duke Blue Devil will probably be limited in his first game back from the extended layoff, he'll return to his usual role in the starting lineup. Barrett was averaging […]

Jonas Valanciunas Questionable Versus the Wizards

Denver Nuggets center Jonas Valanciunas (calf) is questionable for Thursday's meeting with the Wizards. The veteran big man suffered a right calf strain during the win over the Toronto Raptors on New Year's Eve. He was initially projected to be sidelined for at least four weeks. While that may remain the case, the questionable tag […]

Christian Braun Remains Sidelined on Thursday

Denver Nuggets guard Christian Braun (ankle) remains out on Thursday versus the Washington Wizards. There hasn't been any real indication he's nearing a return, although the team certainly isn't looking to rush things regarding his recovery. While Braun continues to work his way back, Jalen Pickett is expected to stay in the starting lineup, with […]

Jalen Suggs Questionable Versus Charlotte

Orlando Magic guard Jalen Suggs (knee) is questionable for Thursday's game against Charlotte. He's missed seven contests because of his latest ailment, a right knee contusion. However, even if the 24-year-old isn't back for this one, the questionable designation at least suggests he's trending in a positive direction. If Suggs suits up, he'll probably see […]

Kel'el Ware Unavailable on Tuesday

Miami Heat center Kel'el Ware (hamstring) won't play on Tuesday versus Sacramento. He carried a questionable tag throughout the day. However, the 21-year-old will miss his first contest of the 2025 campaign because of hamstring tightness. Ware hasn't seen much action of late, averaging 20 minutes in January. Still, his absence should allow Nikola Jovic […]

Patrick Williams Won't Face the Nets

Chicago Bulls forward Patrick Williams (ankle) won't play on Sunday against Brooklyn. Williams logged 12 minutes when these clubs met on Friday night before he tweaked his right ankle and was eventually ruled out. It's unknown how long the injury will keep him out of commission. However, the 24-year-old has averaged a career-low 6.5 points […]

Josh Giddey Ruled Out on Sunday

Chicago Bulls guard Josh Giddey (hamstring) has been downgraded to out for Sunday's meeting with the Nets. The 2021 No. 6 overall pick carried a doubtful tag heading into this one. While nobody expected him to play, the doubtful designation suggests he's progressing. In the meantime, Tre Jones should continue to roll with the starters, […]

Darius Garland Diagnosed With Big-Toe Sprain

Cleveland Cavaliers guard Darius Garland (toe) will be re-evaluated in seven to 10 days after being diagnosed with a Grade 1 big-toe sprain. The injury isn't to the same toe that forced him to miss the start of the 2025 campaign. However, it's unknown how long it will keep him off the floor. The 25-year-old […]

Kawhi Leonard to Miss Final Two Games of Road Trip

Los Angeles Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard (knee) will miss the remainder of the team's road trip. The multi-time All-Star suffered a left knee contusion during a meeting with the Detroit Pistons just over a week ago. While he managed to suit up for games against the Hornets and Wizards, he'll now head back to Los […]

Jalen Williams Ruled Out for Remainder of Meeting with Miami

Oklahoma City Thunder forward Jalen Williams (thigh) won't return to Saturday's matchup with the Miami Heat. The 24-year-old was having a productive evening. However, he would eventually be ruled out with what the team is calling right thigh soreness, so he will finish this one with eight points, three boards, and three assists in 14 […]

Naz Reid Won't Return on Saturday Night

Minnesota Timberwolves forward/center Naz Reid (shoulder) won't return to Saturday's meeting with the Spurs. He got the start in place of Rudy Gobert (hip). Unfortunately, the 26-year-old would end up logging only five minutes before eventually being ruled out because of left shoulder soreness. Minnesota plays again on Tuesday in Utah, although there likely will […]

Pascal Siakam Resting Versus Pistons

Indiana Pacers forward Pascal Siakam (rest) won't play against the Pistons. He had 27 points, six rebounds, five assists, and one block in Friday's win over the New Orleans Pelicans. The veteran will sit this one out to rest, so fantasy managers can expect to have him back in the lineup for Monday's game in […]

Andrew Nembhard, Aaron Nesmith Unavailable on Saturday

Indiana Pacers guard Andrew Nembhard (back) and forward Aaron Nesmith (rest) won't play on Saturday against Detroit. The duo each logged over 30 minutes in Friday's win over the New Orleans Pelicans, combining for 31 points. However, they will both take the night off to rest. Pascal Siakam (rest) and T.J. McConnell (knee) also won't […]

Daniel Gafford Won't Suit Up Versus Utah, Dwight Powell Starting Again

Dallas Mavericks center Daniel Gafford (ankle) won't play on Saturday versus Utah. It will be his second-straight absence. As a result, Dwight Powell is in line to make another start. The 34-year-old got the start when these clubs met on Thursday, finishing with six points, seven boards, two steals, and two blocks. Jeremiah Robinson-Earl should […]

Cooper Flagg Out, Max Christie Available on Saturday

Dallas Mavericks guard/forward Cooper Flagg (ankle) won't play on Saturday versus the Utah Jazz. It will be the former Duke Blue Devil's second absence since injuring his ankle during Wednesday's loss to the Chicago Bulls. With Flagg, Anthony Davis (finger), Daniel Gafford (ankle), and D'Angelo Russell (illness) all out, the Mavs should get increased production […]

Cooper Flagg Doubtful on Saturday

Dallas Mavericks guard/forward Cooper Flagg (ankle) isn't expected to play on Saturday versus Utah. The rookie sprained his ankle during Wednesday's loss to the Chicago Bulls and didn't suit up for Thursday's meeting with the Jazz. Brandon Williams entered the starting lineup in that one, finishing with 18 points. Of course, others benefited as well, […]

Lauri Markkanen Out Again on Saturday

Utah Jazz forward Lauri Markkanen (illness) won't play on Saturday against the Mavericks. He has missed plenty of time this season. However, his most recent string of collective absences is one of his longest of the campaign. Isaiah Collier entered the starting lineup when these clubs met on Thursday, finishing with 10 points, 12 assists, […]

Kawhi Leonard Won't Suit Up Against Toronto

Los Angeles Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard (ankle) won't play on Friday against Toronto. The sprained ankle has been an issue for over a week, although he's managed to play through it. However, the multi-time All-Star will miss his first contest in nearly two months. The Clippers won't play again until Monday in Washington, so Leonard […]

Immanuel Quickley Ruled Out on Friday

Toronto Raptors guard Immanuel Quickley (back) won't play on Friday night against the Los Angeles Clippers. The back spasms will keep him out for a second-straight contest, meaning his next chance to suit up will be on Sunday versus the Lakers. Jamal Shead started in his place in Wednesday's 115-101 win over the Indiana Pacers, […]

Anthony Edwards Out Again on Friday Night

Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards (foot) won't play on Friday in Houston. He also didn't suit up on Tuesday against Milwaukee. As a result, Mike Conley entered the starting lineup, finishing with nine points, five assists, and three rebounds. While Conley might continue to get a statistical boost, Julius Randle and Jaden McDaniels should remain […]

Darius Garland Won't Play on Friday Evening

Cleveland Cavaliers guard Darius Garland (foot) is listed as out for Friday's rematch with Philadelphia. He had 20 points when these clubs met on Wednesday. However, his night ended abruptly due to a right toe injury. Fortunately, it's not the same toe that Garland had surgery on during the offseason. For now, fantasy managers can […]

Domantas Sabonis Might Return on Friday Night

According to Sean Cunningham of NBC Sacramento, Kings forward Domantas Sabonis (knee) was a full participant in Thursday's practice. Cunningham added there's also "optimism" that he could return "as early" as Friday's meeting with the Washington Wizards. The 29-year-old hasn't had his best season in 2025, although he still produces at a high level, averaging […]

Jrue Holiday Cleared to Suit Up Versus New York

Portland Trail Blazers guard Jrue Holiday (calf) will play on Sunday against the Knicks. He hasn't played in nearly two months. As a result, it may take him at least a few contests to find his footing. With that said, Holiday was averaging 16.7 points before going down with the injury, his highest in years, […]

Josh Hart Returning on Sunday Night

New York Knicks forward Josh Hart (ankle) will play on Sunday against Portland. He sprained his right ankle during the Christmas win over the Cleveland Cavaliers, keeping him off the floor for the Knicks' last eight contests. The 30-year-old was averaging 12.3 points, 8.0 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 1.4 steals before going down. Although Hart […]
