Several NFL players underwhelmed in Week 6 of the 2025 fantasy football season. Andersen Pickard identifies busts at each position and if they'll bounce back.

The sixth Sunday of the 2025 NFL season has come and gone. Hopefully, you woke up on Monday morning feeling very good about how your matchup went. However, this week's slate of games was certainly stress-inducing for many fantasy football managers.

Part of that stress was caused by a group of players who drastically underachieved in Week 6. These players failed to meet their fantasy expectations this week, and it cost their managers in a big way.

Let's take a look at the biggest busts from Week 6, as well as whether or not we can still have some trust in these players moving forward. All point totals are based on the PPR scoring system. Players who missed part of the game due to injury are exempt from being featured.

Fantasy Football Quarterback Busts

Justin Fields, 4.9 FPTS

Fields had one of the worst games of his career against the Broncos, taking nine sacks while throwing for just 45 yards and zero touchdowns. His rushing upside is undeniable, but the results get pretty ugly when he faces a good defense and can't move the ball. He should bounce back as a low-end QB1 against the Panthers in Week 7.

Dillon Gabriel, 2.8 FPTS

Gabriel threw for two touchdowns in his first start last week, but he couldn't replicate that outing in Week 6. He completed just 55.8 percent of his passes and took six sacks. He didn't score a touchdown, but he also didn't turn the ball over. Gabriel is a fantasy QB3 heading into a more favorable matchup against Miami.

Mac Jones, 7.2 FPTS

Jones' excellent stretch of fantasy outings while filling in for Brock Purdy (toe) came to an end on Sunday. The former first-round pick threw two interceptions and took six sacks in the loss to Tampa Bay, though he did throw for over 350 yards. He's not a relevant fantasy option with Purdy likely returning in Week 7.

Fantasy Football Running Back Busts

Kenneth Walker III, 4.7 FPTS

Walker rushed for just 34 yards on 10 carries and did not carve out a major receiving or touchdown scoring role. Walker and Zach Charbonnet each recorded double-digit rushing attempts, but neither running back was very productive on Sunday. Seattle takes on Houston in Week 7.

Tony Pollard, 6.7 FPTS

Tennessee got Tyjae Spears more involved Sunday, and as a result, Pollard's role was scaled back. He rushed for 34 yards on 10 carries and did not make a trip to the end zone. He and Spears are both heading toward being low-end RB3/flex options in deeper leagues. Pollard takes on a stingy Patriots run defense in Week 7.

Jahmyr Gibbs, 7.5 FPTS

Gibbs had an uncharacteristically quiet outing as the Lions fell to the Chiefs on Sunday Night Football. His lack of usage in the passing game (one reception for zero yards) was certainly the biggest surprise. He should bounce back as a mid-range RB1 in Week 7 against the Buccaneers.

Hassan Haskins, 3.3 FPTS

Reports of Haskins being the Chargers' lead back were clearly misguided, as he touched the ball just seven times and averaged a mere 2.3 yards per carry. He can be dropped back to waivers in all fantasy leagues ahead of his Week 7 matchup against Indianapolis.

J.K. Dobbins, 4.0 FPTS

Dobbins couldn't get much going overseas, averaging less than 2.9 yards per carry. It was his second game without a touchdown, as well as his first with fewer than 11 fantasy points. He'll look to bounce back as an RB2 against the Giants in Week 7.

Breece Hall, 5.9 FPTS

Hall rushed a season-high 22 times on Sunday, but he didn't command a target, nor did he score a touchdown. Managers will look for him to bounce back as an RB2 in a more favorable matchup against Carolina.

TreVeyon Henderson, 4.6 FPTS

The constant calls for Henderson to get more involved were somewhat answered, as the rookie registered nine rushing attempts, which is his second-highest mark of the season. However, he averaged just three yards per carry. He can be stashed on the bench in leagues with fewer than 14 teams.

Zach Charbonnet, 4.7 FPTS

Just like Walker, Charbonnet was held in check by the Jaguars. As long as both players continue to handle a relatively even split of the backfield, it'll be tough for managers to trust either running back as anything more than a low-end RB3/flex. He'll look to bounce back against Houston in Week 7.

Rhamondre Stevenson, 1.8 FPTS

Stevenson carried the ball 13 times for 18 yards in an ugly performance on Sunday afternoon. Mike Vrabel still appears to prefer giving him more touches than Henderson, but it didn't amount to much yardage. Stevenson can be benched in most fantasy leagues for Week 7 against Tennessee.

Rhamondre Stevenson is averaging 1.68 yards per carry on his last 19 attempts

TreVeyon Henderson is averaging 3.4 yards per carry on his last 15 attempts

Quinshon Judkins, 3.6 FPTS

Judkins showed that he is human, posting single-digit fantasy points for the first time in his young career. He should bounce back as a mid-to-high RB2 in a very favorable matchup against the Dolphins next week.

Fantasy Football Wide Receiver Busts

Courtland Sutton, 2.7 FPTS

Sutton caught one pass for 17 yards, finishing with fewer than 17.9 fantasy points for just the second time this season. This game was most likely an outlier, and he should bounce back as a solid WR2 against the Giants next week.

Jauan Jennings, 1.7 FPTS

Jennings caught just one of his three targets for seven yards on Sunday. It's worth noting that he is playing through five broken ribs and multiple ankle sprains, but he still qualifies for this list because he played through the injury for the whole game, rather than suffering it midgame and exiting. He's tough to trust in fantasy football until he can get back to 100 percent.

Stefon Diggs, 5.8 FPTS

Diggs' streak of 100-yard games has ended at two as he shared the wealth with other Patriots receivers. Kayshon Boutte and DeMario Douglas had big games while Diggs was held to 28 yards on three catches. He should bounce back as a strong WR3/flex option next week against the Titans.

Davante Adams, 7.9 FPTS

Adams caught four passes for 39 yards on Sunday, turning in his worst fantasy performance of the season. He has now caught fewer than half the passes thrown his way this season, which is a concern. He'll look to bounce back as a WR2 against the Jaguars next week, and he could be a WR1 if Puka Nacua (ankle) doesn't suit up.

Michael Pittman Jr., 4.0 FPTS

Pittman had his worst game of the year, posting season lows in targets (three), catches (two), and receiving yards (20). The Colts spread the ball around well, so this outcome shouldn't be a total surprise. Still, Pittman and Daniel Jones had a good rapport going. He'll look to bounce back as a WR3/flex next week.

Keenan Allen, 6.7 FPTS

Even with Quentin Johnston (hamstring) sidelined, Allen was unable to carve out a substantial role. He posted a new season low in receptions and yards, finishing with fewer than eight fantasy points for the first time in 2025. He'll look to bounce back as a WR3/flex next week against Indianapolis.

Fantasy Football Tight End Busts

Mason Taylor, 1.2 FPTS

After totaling 25 targets and 18 catches over the last three weeks, Taylor's usage took a substantial step backward on Sunday. He caught just one pass for two yards, which is the worst stat line of his young career so far. He can only go up from here, but we're not ready to trust him as a top-12 fantasy tight end in Week 7 against Carolina.

Juwan Johnson, 2.5 FPTS

Johnson's big three-week stretch at the start of the season was too good to be true. The 29-year-old has just seven catches through three games since then, as well as a lost fumble this Sunday against New England. He ranks outside the top 12 fantasy tight ends heading into Week 7 against Chicago.

Hunter Henry, 5.7 FPTS

Henry's inconsistent season continues as he caught all three of his targets for 27 yards on Sunday. He entered this week as the TE6 in scoring, but has now finished with fewer than seven fantasy points in half of his games. He's a fringe top-12 fantasy tight end for Week 7 against the Titans.
