Freshman DeShawn Spencer Seeing First-Team Reps for Auburn
Auburn wide receiver DeShawn Spencer "was constantly the first man up at slot receiver" during Wednesday's practice, according to Justin Ferguson of The Auburn Observer. Spencer is a true freshman and former three-star recruit out of Alabama who converted to wide receiver from running back in the late part of his high school career. The Tigers are expected to have as many as 10 new starters this year in the first season of head coach Alex Golesh, meaning there is no shortage of starting jobs up for grabs. That said, Golesh brought many of his former USF players with him to The Plains, including wideouts Chas Nimrod, Keshaun Singleton, and Jeremiah Kroger. Based on Ferguson's report, Spencer is a name to watch this fall.
