Three top fantasy baseball prospects - Carlos Lagrange, Hagen Smith, Charlie Condon - that can make big impacts. These MLB prospects are waiver wire pickups or stashes.
Stashing prospects ahead of their promotion can provide managers with a potential elite asset. Just this week, managers have seen recently promoted outfield prospect Cole Carrigg continue his early-career breakout, making him my prime waiver-wire target.
Below, we will check in on three of the top prospects at the Triple-A level and determine if managers should consider stashing them ahead of Week 12 of the fantasy season.
Should fantasy managers stash these high-end prospects? Let's dive in!

Hagen Smith, SP, Chicago White Sox
Current Level: AAA
Availability: 5% rostered
2026 AAA Stats: 52 IP, 4.67 ERA, 1.40 WHIP, 77 SO, 36 BB
While Montgomery stole the call-up headlines from the club this past week, their top pitching prospect is on the verge of joining the MLB roster, too.
Smith had a slow start to his time at Triple-A this season, posting a rough 4.54 ERA with a 1.46 WHIP across 33 2/3 innings. During this stretch of play, the southpaw struck out 38 hitters but could not command his pitches, walking a high 26 batters. However, since May 27, the lefty has done a complete 180 and has quietly been one of the most dominant arms at Triple-A.
Over his last four starts (19 innings), the former fifth overall pick has posted a much-improved 2.37 ERA with a 1.05 WHIP. More importantly, during this stretch, Smith has maintained his elite strikeout upside. He totaled 32 strikeouts while showing high-end command, walking only seven hitters (3.3 BB/9). Earlier in the season, Smith held a much higher 7.2 BB/9.
While Smith endured some regression in his last outing, the young southpaw appears to be trending in the right direction. Even though the team announced that Smith will be shut down for two weeks due to a shoulder injury, his path to majors remains clear, making him a viable deep-leauge stash target in formats with N/A spots.

Carlos Lagrange, SP, New York Yankees
Current Level: AAA
Availability: 5% rostered
2026 AAA Stats: 58 2/3 IP, 4.14 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, 78 SO, 28 BB
Carlos Lagrange began the 2026 season as a starter at Triple-A but was shifted to the bullpen earlier in June to provide him an easier path to reach the majors in the immediate future. Per reports, the team believes Lagrange will make the MLB roster this season, and moving him to a long-relief role will get him to the Bronx much sooner.
Since moving to the bullpen, the hard-throwing right-hander has seen his production take a massive step forward. In his first relief outing, Lagrange tossed four innings of one-run ball with a 7:2 K:BB and only one hit allowed. In his most recent relief outing on June 9, Lagrange logged 2 2/3 innings of one-run ball (three hits) with a 3:1 K:BB.
Before this recent improvement, Lagrange struggled to pitch out of the starting rotation, posting a 4.41 ERA and a 1.33 WHIP across 49 frames. While he continued to show just as much strikeout upside, totaling 63 strikeouts, his weak command (25 walks) caused him some damage.
However, while his path to the majors might be clearer, moving to a long-relief/potential setup role will hinder his fantasy upside. The Yankees already have a proven closer in David Bednar, which will likely keep Lagrange in a middle-relief role to begin his MLB career, with the potential to slide into the seventh- or eighth-inning roles.
While managers in standard leagues should not consider stashing him yet, those in deeper leagues (that reward holds) should.
Since moving to the bullpen at Triple-A, the flamethrower has looked quite comfortable, which suggests his MLB debut may come sooner rather than later. Once in the Bronx, Lagrange could take over the setup role and put him in the "elite" tier of hold providers, given his immense strikeout potential.

Charlie Condon, OF, Colorado Rockies
Current Level: AAA
Availability: 5% rostered
2026 AAA Stats: 60 G, .260/.391/.498, 13 2B, 13 HR, 5 SB
Condon is currently slashing .260/.391/.498 with 13 home runs in 279 plate appearances at Triple-A. You have to love his elite walk rate (15.5%) while keeping his strikeout rate in check (24.2%).
The stud first baseman is starting to heat up at the plate, homering three times in his last four games.

The Rockies are a rebuilding team that will want to see what they have in Condon in the near future. At 23 years old, there's no need to keep him down at Triple-A for long, especially when he's hitting so well.
I anticipate Condon getting called up around the All-Star break in July. Once that happens, he'll have a chance to make an immediate impact while hitting in the friendly confines of Coors Field. You never know, what if he provides a power binge right away?
