Trey Benson Week 3 Waiver Wire Pickups

Rostered: 50% of Leagues

Baller Move: Add in all leagues

As a rookie, Trey Benson was deployed as the clear No. 2 behind the workhorse option, James Conner. Benson was no more than a handcuff as he carried minimal standard value, as he rarely saw consistent opportunities.

However, through the first two weeks of the 2025 season, the Cardinals have begun to increase his role. Through two games, the former second-round pick has taken 11 rushing attempts for 83 yards and added five catches for 36 yards (on seven targets). While this workload does not seem significant on paper, he is on the field much more than he was in his rookie season.

So far, Benson has logged 39% of he team's RB snaps while Conner has seen just 59%. In addition, Benson has logged over 20 offensive snaps in each game this season, which is something he only accomplished once as a rookie.

Seeing that Benson appears to have a role as a pass catcher even with Conner still operating as the RB1, Benson should be viewed as a priority target, as he does hold low-end flex value weekly. More importantly, if Conner were to miss time, Benson could emerge as a league-winner given the efficiency he has shown this season (7.5 YPC).

He is worth adding in all leagues heading into Week 3.

Cam Skattebo Week 3 Waiver Wire Pickups

Rostered: 65% of Leagues

Baller Move: Add in all leagues

Cam Skattebo missed most of training camp and the preseason due to a hamstring injury. While he was able to make his professional debut during their final preseason contest, given the time he missed, he was expected to cede most of the workload to Tyrone Tracy Jr., given his experience within the Giants' system.

In Week 1, Tracy dominated the backfield, as he logged 73% of the running backs while the rookie saw just 11%. In fact, this mark was lower than Devin Singletary's 16%. However, in Week 2, the backfield shifted in favor of Skattebo.

During their loss to the Dallas Cowboys, the Arizona State product saw 51% of the RB snaps, while Tracy saw just 42%. In this contest, the rookie took 11 attempts for 45 yards, a rushing touchdown, and added two receptions (on three targets) for 14 yards. Tracy ran the ball just five times for a modest 15 yards.

However, Tracy was utilized more as a pass catcher, seeing five targets (four catches) for 36 yards.

While the Giants will continue to deploy Tracy as their primary third-down option, Skattebo appears to have claimed the short-yardage, early-down, and goal-line work, which is an excellent sign for his fantasy outlook. He is worth adding in all formats heading into Week 3 as he could carry low-end RB2 value going forward, especially if the Giants' offense were to continue to improve under Russell Wilson.

Kayshon Boutte Week 3 Waiver Wire Pickups

Rostered: 30% of Leagues

Baller Move: Add In All leagues

In the offseason, the New England Patriots signed veteran wideout Stefon Diggs to lead the pass-catching room as they lacked any proven playmakers outside of tight end Hunter Henry during Drake Maye's rookie season. However, with Diggs's being eased into action following his torn ACL in 2024, Kayshon Boutte has emerged as Maye's top target.

In Week 1, Boutte was the focal point of the offense, seeing eight targets and bringing in six of them for 103 yards. In Week 2, he only saw one target, but he was able to catch it for a 16-yard touchdown. During this two-game stretch, the LSU product has averaged 47.0 offensive snaps per game, which is 76% of the team's total snaps.

During this stretch, Diggs has seen 46% of the snaps while veteran Mack Hollins has seen 59% of the snaps. Even though Boutte did not see the same targets in Week 2, he remained a key part of the offense and was on the field for nearly the entire contest.

During the final games of the 2024 season. Boutte flashed similar upside, seeing 6.0 targets per game and averaging a solid 12.6 PPR per game.

While fantasy managers should expect Diggs to carve out the top role in this WR room eventually, Boutte appears to have gained the trust of his QB, and should remain a focal point of the passing attack. Boutte is worth adding in formats as a high-floor flex player going forward, as he should continue to see a lead role in this offense that will only improve as Maye develops.
