Cowboys Fire Defensive Coordinator Matt Eberflus
The Dallas Cowboys fired defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus on Tuesday, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter. The Cowboys will now be on their fourth different defensive coordinator in four seasons. Eberflus gets the boot after the team finished last in the league in points per game (30.1) and 30th in yards allowed per game. It was the first time in team history that the Cowboys allowed more than 30 points per game, and they surrendered a team-record 511 points in 18 games. Dallas traded All-Pro pass-rusher Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers just a week before the start of the season. They finished with 35 sacks, their fewest since 2020. The Cowboys allowed either a touchdown or a field goal on 91 of 177 drives this season. Additionally, their 12 takeaways were the fewest in a season since 2015. Dallas' run D improved slightly, but they still ranked 23rd.

Titans to Interview Raheem Morris for Head-Coaching Job
The Tennessee Titans will interview former Atlanta Falcons head coach Raheem Morris for their vacant head-coaching job later this week, sources told Peter Schrager of ESPN. Morris, 49, was the head coach for the Falcons the last two seasons, going 8-9 each year. He also has head-coaching experience with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2009-11, when he went 17-31. The Titans are expected to cast a wide net as they search for their next head coach. General manager Mike Borgonzi will lead the search for a new head coach. Tennessee's top priority will be to bring someone in who they think will take quarterback Cameron Ward's development to the next level after he struggled mightily in his rookie season. The Titans have reportedly already reached out to the Kansas City Chiefs as they request to interview offensive coordinator Matt Nagy.

Kevin Stefanski Expected to Speak With Falcons, Giants, Titans
Former Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski is expected to speak with the Atlanta Falcons, New York Giants, and Tennessee Titans about their head-coaching vacancies this offseason, sources told Adam Schefter of ESPN. Before the Browns officially fired Stefanski on Black Monday, there were rumors floating around that the Giants had interest in Stefanski as their next head coach. New York fired Brian Daboll early in the season, with offensive coordinator Mike Kafka serving as the interim coach for the rest of the season. Even with all of the failures that Stefanski endured in his time in Cleveland, he figures to be one of the most coveted head-coaching candidates around the league this year because of his offensive mind. Stefanski would be an intriguing fit for young quarterback Jaxson Dart and young running back Cam Skattebo with the Giants.

Giants Retaining GM Joe Schoen
The New York Giants are retaining general manager Joe Schoen, sources told Jordan Raanan of ESPN. The Giants fired head coach Brian Daboll in the middle of the season, but they'll keep Schoen around after the Giants went 4-13. The team has gone 22-551 with a playoff appearance in four seasons with Schoen at the helm in the front office. The Giants will have the fifth pick in the 2026 NFL Draft after winning their final two games. Schoen may have been saved by having strong drafts each of the last two years, which produced players such as quarterback Jaxson Dart, wide receiver Malik Nabers, edge rusher Abdul Carter, and running backs Cam Skattebo and Tyrone Tracy Jr. "We believe in our young core of talent, which we can build around for future success," co-owners John Mara and Steve Tisch said in their statement Monday.

Cardinals Fire Head Coach Jonathan Gannon
The Arizona Cardinals fired head coach Jonathan Gannon on Monday, sources tell Adam Schefter of ESPN. The Cardinals had an extremely disappointing 2025 campaign that closed out with nine straight losses, which ultimately cost Gannon his job. General manager Monti Ossenfort will lead the search for a new head coach in the desert. Gannon was in his third year with Arizona. He'll finish up his time with the Cardinals with a 15-36 record in three seasons as the head coach. Gannon never reached the playoffs while never finishing higher than third in the NFC West. Arizona went 4-13 in 2023 and 8-9 last year before finishing 3-14 in 2025. He went 3-15 combined against the NFC West. The Cardinals were decimated by injuries this year, with 42 different players missing a combined 309 games due to injury. The offense struggled all season, and quarterback Kyler Murray (foot) didn't play after getting injured in Week 5.

Raiders Fire Head Coach Pete Carroll
The Las Vegas Raiders fired head coach Pete Carroll on Monday, according to Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team. Carroll, 74, went just 3-14 in his lone season with the Raiders. Despite beating the Kansas City Chiefs in the Week 18 regular-season finale, the Raiders secured the No. 1 overall pick for the 2026 NFL draft. Going into the season finale, the Raiders had lost 10 straight games under Carroll. Owner Mark Davis said in a statement that general manager John Spytek and minority owner Tom Brady will lead football operations going forward, including the search for the next head coach. It's the first time Carroll has been fired in his first season since 1994, when the New York Jets fired him after the team went 6-10. Vegas ranked near the bottom in every major offensive category under Carroll in 2025, including rushing yards per game (77.5). On defense, they ranked 25th in points allowed (25.4).

Falcons Fire Raheem Morris and Terry Fontenot
The Atlanta Falcons have fired head coach Raheem Morris and general manager Terry Fontenot following the conclusion of the 2025 regular season, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com. The Falcons were eliminated from playoff contention in early December, and while Atlanta did finish the year on a four-game winning streak, it wasn't enough to save either of their jobs. Morris' second stint as an NFL head coach lasted just two years. He led the Falcons to back-to-back 8-9 seasons, missing the playoffs on both occasions despite having a strong defense and a star-studded offense led by Drake London and Bijan Robinson. Morris has experience coaching on both sides of the ball, so he should generate some interest as a potential coordinator hire this offseason. Meanwhile, Fontenot was fired after five seasons with the organization. The Falcons had five losing seasons under his leadership, and they finished third or worse in the NFC South on four of those five occasions. He deserves credit for drafting Robinson and London, as well as fortifying Atlanta's defense. However, he also deserves criticism for a variety of moves, including a confusing sequence in which the Falcons signed Kirk Cousins to a four-year deal and then proceeded to spend a first-round pick on Michael Penix Jr. The Falcons have a strong roster in the NFL's weakest division, so their head coach and general manager openings should be attractive to candidates this offseason. It's not immediately clear which candidates the Falcons will target, but Jay Glazer of FOX Sports did previously report that the team could hire former quarterback Matt Ryan to a prominent front office role.

Myles Garrett Breaks All-Time Single-Season Sack Record
Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett broke the NFL's all-time single-season sack record during Sunday's Week 18 win over the Cincinnati Bengals. Garrett took down Joe Burrow with less than six minutes left in the Browns' season to set the new record. His 23 sacks in 2025 officially vaulted him ahead of T.J. Watt (2021) and Michael Strahan (2001), who each amassed 22.5 sacks in their respective campaigns. Although the Browns' season didn't go according to plan, Garrett was an extremely encouraging bright spot on the defensive side of the ball once again. In addition to averaging more than 1.3 sacks per game, he finished the year with a total of 60 tackles and three forced fumbles. The 30-year-old superstar is in the driver's seat to win Defensive Player of the Year.

Derwin James and Tuli Tuipulotu Inactive for Week 18 Against Broncos
Los Angeles Chargers safety Derwin James (coach's decision) and defensive end Tuli Tuipulotu (coach's decision) are inactive for Sunday's Week 18 contest against the Denver Broncos. Both players are healthy scratches after they didn't carry an injury designation into this weekend. The Bolts are resting several key starters on both sides of the play since they're guaranteed to finish with the fifth, sixth, or seventh seed in the AFC. James finishes his regular season with 94 tackles, two sacks, three interceptions, and one forced fumble through 16 games. With Elijah Molden (hamstring) also inactive, RJ Mickens and Tony Jefferson should earn more defensive snaps in James' absence. Meanwhile, Tuipulotu finishes with 45 tackles, 13 sacks, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery over 16 contests. Bud Dupree, Odafe Oweh, and Kyle Kennard will work to fill his void on Sunday.

John Harbaugh Not a Lock to Return to Ravens?
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh returning to the team seems to be a situation that is "up in the air" right now. Both Harbaugh and the Ravens are expected to meet in the offseason to determine what direction they want to go in moving forward. Behind Pittsburgh's Mike Tomlin, Harbaugh is the second-longest-tenured coach in the NFL. Until the offseason conversations occur, Schefter is leaning toward Harbaugh returning, especially if the Ravens win the AFC North on Sunday night by beating the division-rival Steelers. The Ravens apparently will also be having discussions on what to do with two-time MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson this offseason. There have been rumors floating around that the Ravens could look to trade him. If they don't, a contract restructure could be coming.

Pete Carroll Unlikely to Return as Raiders Head Coach
NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports that signs are pointing to another reset for the Las Vegas Raiders, with head coach Pete Carroll unlikely to return for the 2026 season. Owner Mark Davis has not communicated any decision yet, but Carroll's status is believed to be very much in doubt going into the Week 18 regular-season finale on Sunday against the division-rival Kansas City Chiefs. Pelissero says it would be a "major surprise" if Carroll is afforded a second season in the desert after a disastrous 2025 campaign with the team. The Raiders have lost 14 of their last 15 games, have fired two of their coordinators, and have worn out the patience of star defensive end Maxx Crosby. Carroll has been fighting to get another year to turn things around, but this is trending towards him being fired on Black Monday. If Vegas loses to KC on Sunday, they will clinch the No. 1 pick in the 2026 draft and go into a full rebuild.

Jets Not Expected to Fire Aaron Glenn
The New York Jets have had another miserable season, already fired their defensive coordinator, and are 3-13 heading into the Week 18 regular-season finale on Sunday against the division-rival Buffalo Bills, but NFL Network's Judy Battista reports that owner Woody Johnson remains committed to head coach Aaron Glenn, and Glenn is not expected to be fired on Monday. The Jets made it clear that they were focusing their attention on 2026 when they traded both cornerback Sauce Gardner and defensive lineman Quinnen Williams at the trade deadline. Battista adds that there is optimism that the Jets can execute a pretty big overhaul this offseason, as they are flush with salary cap space and will have two first-round picks in 2026 and three in 2027. The Jets must first and foremost figure out their QB situation after swinging and missing on Justin Fields in free agency last offseason.

Packers Resting Key Players in Week 18
The Green Bay Packers will rest key players during Sunday's Week 18 contest against the Minnesota Vikings, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com. It was previously reported that Green Bay would likely rest some of its starters, but Fowler's latest update now confirms this. While the X post doesn't say which players will be affected, Fowler reports that "a significant number" of key players will sit out. This decision comes after Green Bay clinched the No. 7 seed in the NFC playoff picture. We already know that Jordan Love will not start despite clearing concussion protocol, and we could see key offensive players like Josh Jacobs and Christian Watson rest. Emanuel Wilson and Matthew Golden could see additional opportunities in the Clayton Tune-led offense. On defense, Fowler notes that recently-acquired cornerback Tre'Von Diggs will play.

Mike McDaniel Could be an Option for Browns
ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports that Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel would be a candidate for the Cleveland Browns head-coaching job if both teams make a change following the 2025 season. McDaniel would be returning to Cleveland after previously working for the Browns as a wide receivers coach. The Browns are having internal discussions about current head coach Kevin Stefanski's future. If Stefanski is let go by Cleveland, he could be the leading candidate to become the next head coach for the New York Giants. After a 1-6 start in Miami this year, the Dolphins have won six of their last nine games to go 7-9 heading into the Week 18 regular-season finale against the New England Patriots. In his four seasons with the Dolphins, McDaniel has gone 35-34, including 0-2 in the playoffs. The Browns have always admired McDaniel for his offensive mind and innovative play-calling.

Browns Doing "Preliminary Research" on Potential Coaching Change
ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports that the Cleveland Browns have done some "preliminary research" for a potential coaching change following the 2025 season, although that doesn't mean they are locked into firing head coach Kevin Stefanski on Black Monday. Fowler also mentions the Las Vegas Raiders as another team that could be looking to move on from head coach Pete Carroll after just one season. Heading into a Week 18 regular-season finale this weekend against the division-rival Cincinnati Bengals, the Browns are in last place in the AFC North with a 4-12 record. It comes a year after a 3-14 finish. Even after signing a contract extension with the Browns 19 months ago and just upsetting the division-rival Pittsburgh Steelers, the organization could choose to go in another direction after Stefanski's six tumultuous seasons in Cleveland.
