Superflex league formats continue to grow in popularity. It's a format that allows you to start a quarterback in the flex position but does not require you to. Quarterbacks tend to score the most fantasy points, and it can be vital to land two solid starting quarterback options in this format. For fantasy managers playing in superflex or 2QB leagues, we've got you covered with our early 2025 fantasy football Superflex rankings for redraft leagues. In the rankings below, you can find out where key players such as Michael Penix Jr., Aaron Rodgers, Trevor Lawrence, Cam Ward, J.K. Dobbins, TreVeyon Henderson, and Jaylen Waddle.

Fantasy Football Player Outlooks
Michael Penix Jr., Atlanta Falcons
Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr. started the team's final three games of 2024 following the benching of starter Kirk Cousins. Penix saw action sooner than expected due to Cousins' struggles returning from a torn Achilles tendon. The 2024 NFL Draft's eighth overall pick now enters the 2025 season as the team's unquestioned QB1.
Penix did not light up the scoreboard statistically in his three starts last year, but he showcased a cannon arm and flashed upside as a passer. He now benefits from entering an entire offseason as the team's confirmed starter and will have plenty of time to forge a connection with WR1 Drake London and Atlanta's other weapons. If Penix hits the ground running, Atlanta's offense could surprise. For fantasy football purposes, Penix probably doesn't offer elite QB1 upside.
Atlanta figures to be a run-first offense behind third-year back Bijan Robinson. Penix also only had 11 rushing yards last year and was never a prolific rusher at the collegiate level. This likely relegates him to a weekly streaming option in single quarterback leagues and QB2 duties in superflex leagues.

Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars
Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence will have two huge luxuries in 2025 that he hasn't had in his career. The first is a great tandem of wide receivers -- Brian Thomas Jr., who was unstoppable in 2024, rookie WR/CB Travis Hunter, whom the team traded up to take second overall, and an offensive-minded coaching staff.
Liam Coen, the offensive coordinator of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2024, ran one of the league's best offenses, both in passing and rushing. Lawrence struggled to find consistency last year, and his season was cut short due to a shoulder injury in his non-throwing shoulder. With Coen in town, the former No. 1 overall pick has the coaching staff to help develop him into more of a consistent quarterback in 2025.
Now, Lawrence should put up the best numbers of his career. He's shown flashes of excellent quarterback play but failed to find consistency, a problem many quarterbacks with poor coaching staffs face. The offensive line still needs some work, but that's always been the case for the Jaguars. Lawrence should finish the year as a QB1 in fantasy football -- he has minor rushing upside to add.

Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
2024 was the year of all years for Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield. He set career highs in passing yards, passing touchdowns, completion percentage, and quarterback rating. Mayfield would finish 2024 as the overall QB4.
Seeing him finally meet expectations as a former No. 1 overall pick was nice. As we turn the page to 2025, we must acknowledge that Mayfield played at a level we had never seen from him before in 2024. His 41 touchdown passes tied for second in the league, and his 7.2% touchdown rate blew past his career mark of 5.0%.
As much fun as it was seeing Mayfield hit his ceiling, he is a significant regression candidate for 2025. Due to his monster 2024, Mayfield is one of the first quarterbacks coming off draft boards. He has an average NFFC ADP of 48.68 overall. That feels steep for a player likely to regress to his career means across the board. Mayfield is certainly a better real-life quarterback than many fantasy gamers thought, but he's a fade at his current draft price.
