Fantasy Football Injury Reports for Tight Ends: Week 7 - Updates for Evan Engram, T.J. Hockenson, Dallas Goedert, Dalton Kincaid

Dallas Goedert - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Fantasy football injury updates and injury reports for tight ends (Week 7) as of 10/17/2024, including TEs Dalton Kincaid, T.J. Hockenson, Evan Engram, Dallas Goedert, and more.

The injury report is chock-full of names. Although some familiar names are carrying an injury designation ahead of Week 7, some fresh faces are making an appearance.

Being up-to-date on NFL injury news can give you an edge over your league mates in fantasy football. Now that the regular season has begun, fantasy managers should stay locked into the latest injury headlines.

Tyler Conklin Injury Update

Conklin was limited in practices ahead of the Monday night loss to the Buffalo Bills because of a hip injury, resulting in a questionable designation. Still, it didn’t keep him off the field.

Although the 29-year-old is back on the injury report because of the same issue, he should be cleared to suit up for Sunday night’s meeting with the Steelers, barring a setback.

However, Conklin has only 19 catches combined in the Jets’ six games this season, so he likely won’t be featured in many starting lineups even if he receives the green light.

Evan Engram Injury Update

After weeks on the shelf due to a bum hamstring, Engram finally returned to the lineup for the overseas clash with the Bears. The veteran looked great in that one, finishing with a game-high 10 catches for 102 yards.

He’s on the injury report once again after practicing in a limited capacity on Wednesday. But this was likely precautionary, so Engram should be good to go versus the Patriots. Assuming he gets the green light, he must be starting in every fantasy lineup.

Dallas Goedert Injury Update

Goedert has been a top fantasy tight end this season. Unfortunately, he injured his hamstring early in Sunday’s game versus the Browns.

Goedert didn’t practice on Wednesday. That will likely be the trend throughout the week moving toward the NFC East encounter with the New York Giants.

If Goedert gets ruled out, which is expected to be the case, Grant Calcaterra, coming off a four-catch, 67-yard outing, warrants consideration for deep fantasy setups.

Taysom Hill Injury Update

Hill isn’t expected to play in Thursday’s game versus the Denver Broncos, which will mark his third straight absence.

While he’s moving in the right direction in returning from his rib injury, Juwan Johnson will presumably take his place in the lineup. Johnson had three grabs for 48 yards in the loss to the Bucs. Yet, he may get more involved with Chris Olave (concussion) and Rashid Shaheed (knee) sidelined.

T.J. Hockenson Injury Update

Hockenson had 95 catches for 960 yards and five touchdowns last season. However, his season was cut short due to a knee injury. The 27-year-old has been working his way back since and has been practicing of late.

While Hockenson hasn’t been ruled out for the Week 7 matchup with the Detroit Lions, fantasy managers will probably need to wait another game or two to see him back on the field. In the meantime, Josh Oliver and Johnny Mundt will remain involved, although not enough to be considered starting fantasy options.

Tucker Kraft Injury Update

Kraft has three touchdowns in the two games before Sunday’s win over the Arizona Cardinals. But he cooled off in that one, amassing two receptions for 13 yards.

He was limited in Wednesday’s practice because of a groin injury, so his availability for Week 7 versus the Texans is in jeopardy. With so many questions surrounding the health of the Packers receiving corps, Kraft could be worth starting, although there are too many moving parts in this scenario at the moment.

Dalton Kincaid Injury Update

Kincaid was projected to be the Bills’ top pass-catcher this season. However, he only has one touchdown. The 24-year-old popped up on the injury report with a collarbone injury.

But he has a few more days to get back on the practice field, so the door isn’t shut regarding his availability for Week 7 versus the Titans.

Still, if he’s not out there, Dawson Knox, who found the end zone on Monday night, can be viewed as a starting fantasy option in multi-tight-end formats, even more so if Amari Cooper doesn’t make his debut with his new team.
