Week 8 Waiver Wire Pickups - Bam Knight, Tyler Allgeier, Brian Robinson Fantasy Football Outlooks

Tyler Allgeier - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Week 8 fantasy football waiver wire pickups for Bam Knight, Tyler Allgeier, Brian Robinson in 2025. Read their waiver wire outlooks for fantasy football.

Productive running backs in fantasy football are a dime a dozen, and all those that have starting jobs are drafted in fantasy drafts. For the most part, their direct backups are too.

But there are still quite a few that aren't, and they make for good pickups in fantasy football off the waiver wire. However, predicting those that will actually have good games and be worth starting in the future isn't easy.

Let's break down waiver wire pickup decisions for San Francisco 49ers RB Brian Robinson Jr., Atlanta Falcons running back Tyler Allgeier, and Arizona Cardinals tailback Bam Knight for Week 8!

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Brian Robinson Jr. Week 8 Waiver Wire Pickups

Rostered: 43% of Leagues

Baller Move: Add in 12+ Team Leagues

Robinson didn't have much work in his team's win against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 7, but he did handle nine carries, which tied for his season-high. He's still a direct handcuff to elite starting back Christian McCaffrey, who's in the middle of a monstrously productive season.

Robinson's workload seems to be dependent on the game script. Their last contest wasn't competitive -- San Francisco remained firmly in control for most of the game, and the Falcons were never much of a threat on offense. Robinson didn't get any receiving work, which is unfortunate.

McCaffrey, had he not already missed out on so many games due to injuries, would likely be in consideration for the Hall of Fame just based on how ridiculously productive he's been so far. The 49ers' RB1 role is insanely valuable, but most of the high-value work is being taken by McCaffrey.

If you're in a 12-team league and have McCaffrey, or just need running back help and want to take shots on RB2s that could have big roles in case of injuries, it's probably fine to pick up Robinson. It appears that he'll get the vast majority of the backfield work if McCaffrey goes down.

Tyler Allgeier Week 8 Waiver Wire Pickups

Rostered: 44% of Leagues

Baller Move: Add in 12+ Team Leagues

Allgeier has struggled with elusiveness and gaining yards after contact this season. He actually ranks near the bottom of the league in both categories. But volume is everything at the running back position, and Allgeier has a ton of contingent upside.

Obviously, he's the backup and just a handcuff to lead back Bijan Robinson. But if Robinson were to get hurt, Allgeier would be in line for a huge workload. The Falcons' offense runs heavily through its running backs, with Robinson taking the lion's share of the touches.

Allgeier has scored three rushing touchdowns through seven games, and though he had just 1.6 PPR fantasy points in Week 7, he gets a decent amount of work when his team is in the lead. When they're up by multiple scores, he's often used in place of Robinson.

So he has some starting value in games against weak defenses, and in Week 8, the Falcons will face the Miami Dolphins, a team that's in the middle of what looks like a collapse. They were defeated by the typically low-scoring Cleveland Browns by four scores in Week 8. Allgeier is worth a roster spot.

Bam Knight Week 8 Waiver Wire Pickups

Rostered: 35% of Leagues

Baller Move: Add in 14+ Team Leagues

Knight took the starting job from Michael Carter, the team's starter in Week 5, but it didn't amount to much. He carried the ball 14 times for 57 yards, averaging just under 4.1 yards per carry, and caught three of his four targets for seven yards.

The Cardinals' lead running back is still Trey Benson (ankle), but he remains on injured reserve and won't be eligible to return to play until Week 10 against the Seattle Seahawks. In the meantime, the Cardinals have a bye week in Week 8 and face the Dallas Cowboys the week after.

There was a bit of smoke after Week 6, as you can see from the post above, but Knight was firmly the more productive back that got more touches, so he should be considered the starter moving forward. A matchup against the weak Dallas Cowboys rush defense is interesting.

But the Cardinals could be forced to pass heavily against Dallas, since the team has such a great offense. So there might not be much rushing work for Knight, which makes him an add in deeper leagues.
