Free College Baseball Betting Picks - Today's Best Bets, Expert Predictions (3/15/23)

Baseball Betting Picks - Today's Best Bets

Casey Wilson's top NCAA college baseball betting picks and best bets for today's NCAA Baseball games on 3/15/24. His free picks include run lines, totals, money lines and parlays.

We have another incredible weekend of games, with conference play underway in most conferences, including the ACC, SEC, PAC 12, and the ultra-talented Sun-Belt conference. In each article, I have tried to write about different teams to give you an expanded horizon of the college baseball landscape. I will continue to do so today.

We have 15 bets that were posted last night for today in our Premium Discord for our members. If you want all my college baseball plays, I post all my bets in our Premium Discord daily. Use code CASEY to get 10% off any MLB Premium subscription, and you will also receive my daily bets.

This article will focus on money lines, run lines, totals, and often parlaying teams to get better odds. Not all books have college lines, so DraftKings Sportsbook and FanDuel Sportsbook will be my primary books. If you find a line in another book, feel free to use that as well. With no further adieu, here are my favorite bets for Friday, March 15, 2023.

Today's College Baseball Betting Picks

Kansas (9-6) @ Cincinnati (10-8)

Projected Starters - Jayhawks: Reese Dutton | Bearcats: Seth Logue

We start our action today with a battle in the Big 12 between the Kansas Jayhawks and the Cincinnati Bearcats. Kansas battled ranked TCU last weekend at home and won two out of three to kick off Big 12 play. Cincinnati was on the road in Kansas to take on the Wildcats of Kansas State, where they lost two out of three, although they played them tough.

Its tremendous starting rotation and defense leads Kansas. Reese Dutton is the ace of this staff and will toe the rubber in game one today. Dutton enters today's start with a 3-1 record, 2.05 ERA, 1.09 WHIP, 24.7% K% and a 3.41 SIERA. Dutton will pitch in the low 90s with a ton of sink. His slider is his out pitch, as it had a 45% whiff last season. He is coming off an outing against #3 ranked TCU, where he went seven innings, allowing only one run, while striking out a season-high eight Horned Frogs, earning him Big 12 Pitcher of the Week.

Ethan Lanthier will get the ball at the back end of games for the Jayhawks. He has struggled in the early going but will run his fastball up to 99 mph and has a four-pitch mix with command. The offense is led by catcher Jake English, who is slashing .356/.508/.800 with six HRs, and outfielder John Nett, .345/.426/.500. They both have reached base safely in every game this season.

Seth Logue will oppose the duo and the rest of the Jayhawks lineup. This season, Logue is 0-1 with a 7.53 ERA, 1.60 WHIP, and a 10|7 K|BB in 14 1/3 IP. Logue is a transfer from Kentucky who will sit in the low 90s. Kerrington Cross .400/.571/.650 with eight SBs and Tommy O'Connor .365/494/587 with four HRs are the two bats to look out for in this Bearcats lineup.

Cincinnati is a team I will pick on often in Big 12 play, especially when the opposing team has an ace on the mound. Reese Dutton is undoubtedly that, and I predict the Jayhawks will get it done on the road this evening.

Pick: Kansas Moneyline (-135) DraftKings Sportsbook

Today's College Baseball Betting Picks

#4 Texas A&M (17-0) @ #8 Florida (10-6)

Projected Starters - Aggies: Ryan Prager | Gators: Cade Fisher

We head to the best conference in college baseball, where play begins with a clash of the Titans between undefeated Texas A&M and the ultra-talented Florida Gators. The Aggies have started the season 17-0 and are arguably the best team in the country. On the other hand, the Gators have struggled, nearly losing a non-conference series to St Marys and losing to in-state rival Florida State on Tuesday.

A&M will send star Ryan Prager to the mound. He has yet to allow a run this season and is coming off a 13-strikeout performance last weekend. He is 4-0 with a 0.00 ERA, 0.51 WHIP, 48.8% K%, and a 0.17 SIERA. Those are video game numbers. He will have his toughest test against the star-studded Florida lineup, but he has been excellent to start the season.

On the offensive side of the ball, the Aggies have two of college baseball's biggest stars: Jace LaViolette and Braden Montgomery. LaViolette is slashing .345/.531/.931 with nine HRs, three 2Bs, and two 3Bs. He hits in front of their other star, Stanford transfer  Montgomery, who slashes .403/.543/.871 with seven HRs and six 2Bs. They make arguably the best one-two punch in college baseball and are a force to be reckoned with against any arm.

The Gators will send their ace, Cade Fisher, to the mound. Fisher has struggled in the early going, although some underlying metrics show he's been unlucky. Fisher is 1-1 with a 7.56 ERA, 1.56 WHIP, 33.3% K%, and a 1.90 SIERA. The SIERA screams positive regression is coming, but it's hard to bet on this spot being the one that happens.

As stated earlier, Florida is full of stars on the offensive side of the ball. Led by the trio of Cade Kurland .320/. 404/580, Jac Caglianone .412/.500/.647, and Alabama transfer Colby Shelton .333/.450/. 794, this lineup is built to hit a ton of home runs.

The offenses in this matchup are about even as the Aggies are hitting .320 with an OPS of 1.048 and have hit 32 HRs, while the Gators are hitting .300 with an OPS of .963 and have hit 34 HRs. The big difference here is the pitching staff. The Aggies have a 2.19 ERA and 1.00 WHIP, which towers over the Gators, with a 5.72 ERA and 1.45 WHIP. I will always back the arms with it being a Friday in the SEC.

Pick: Texas A&M  Moneyline (-130) DraftKings Sportsbook

Today's College Baseball Betting Picks

Washington State (9-6) @ UCLA (5-10)

Projected Starters - Cougars: Grant Taylor | Bruins: Luke Jewett

UCLA has carried its struggles over from last season to the start of this year as its strong freshman class is still getting acclimated to Division One baseball. On the other hand, the Cougars have been much better than expected in the early going.

Grant Taylor, 3-0 with a 2.86 ERA, 1.18 WHIP, 20.0% K%, and a 4.26 SIERA, has been tremendous for the Cougars on Friday nights. Taylor has 34 career starts under his belt, and the big veteran right-hand pitcher has a ton of experience for the Cougars to handle a rowdy environment in California.

Luke Jewett is 0-1 with a 6.55 ERA, 1.45 WHIP, 18.0% K%, and a 4.48 SIERA. He will work in the mid-90s with a curveball, slider, and changeup. He has struggled so far this season transitioning from the bullpen to the starting role.

The Cougars' offense is slashing .310/392/.481 with 16 HRs, all in the top five rankings in the Pac-12. They are led by Nate Swarts, who is .377/468/.717 with three HRs, five 2Bs, and two 3Bs, and Joey Kramer is .328/.409/.569 with four HRs.

The offense has been clicking, and Taylor has been steady on Fridays. I will be taking the Cougars, the hotter team in the early going, making this an upset call this Friday night.

Pick: Washington State Moneyline (+140) DraftKings Sportsbook
