If you are in need of some saves in your roto league, you're likely scouring the waiver wire for any closers who might emerge.
Luckily, this article could help you get a leg up over your league mates for some potential saves down the stretch. We will dive into the best fantasy baseball closer handcuffs in Week 10 of the fantasy baseball season. Fantasy Baseball Closer Handcuffs For Standard Leagues
Ryan Helsley, Baltimore Orioles (83% rostered)
Baltimore Orioles reliever Ryan Helsley is on this list just in case a fantasy manager in your league dropped him. Helsley has been on the shelf since May 1 due to right elbow inflammation, but he is making significant progress in his recovery. He recently threw a bullpen session and could begin a rehab assignment next week. The right-hander had a 2.53 ERA and seven saves before his injury and will slide back into the closer role once active.
Robert Suarez, Atlanta Braves (62% rostered)
Atlanta Braves reliever Robert Suarez is the top closer handcuff in all fantasy baseball. He has a 0.68 ERA and four saves across 26 2/3 innings pitched and is coming off back-to-back 35+ save seasons. If Raisel Iglesias ever struggles in the closer role or lands on the injured list, Suarez would be a top closer to own.
Ryan Walker, San Francisco Giants (28% rostered)
Keep an eye on San Francisco Giants reliever Ryan Walker. He was demoted to Triple-A Sacramento back on May 10 amid a rough stretch in the big leagues. However, Walker has been lights out on the mound since being optioned to the minors. The 30-year-old has a 1.42 ERA, a 1.11 WHIP, and seven strikeouts in his six appearances. He could return as the Giants' closer in the near future.
Erik Sabrowski, Cleveland Guardians (18% rostered)
Cleveland Guardians reliever Erik Sabrowski is currently on the 15-day injured list due to left elbow inflammation. While Sabrowski might not return until July, he could be someone to stash in one of your IL slots for the time being. He leads all relievers in holds (17) and would be next in line for saves if Cade Smith is ever sidelined for a period of time. Hunter Gaddis is also a name to monitor in the Cleveland bullpen.
Antonio Senzatela, Colorado Rockies (18% rostered)
Colorado Rockies long reliever Antonio Senzatela could eventually find his way into more save opportunities moving forward. The Rockies don't have a set closer right now, and Senzatela has easily been the team's best relief pitcher so far. The right-hander has a 1.70 ERA, a 31.7% chase rate, and a 93rd percentile Pitching Run Value. He could definitely earn some two-inning saves, too.

JoJo Romero, St. Louis Cardinals (16% rostered)
Riley O'Brien's recent struggles in the ninth-inning role put some pressure on him. He has allowed a run in four of his last five relief appearances and had a whopping 6.30 ERA across 10 innings pitched in May. If he continues to blow save chances, JoJo Romero could get some looks in that closer role. He ranks second among all relievers in holds (16) and has been consistent in his setup role for the majority of the season.
Grant Taylor, Chicago White Sox (13% rostered)
It's only a matter of time until Grant Taylor takes over the White Sox's closer job. Seranthony Dominguez has had his ups and downs in this role to start the season, and Taylor is just better suited for this closer job.
Dominguez has a 3.97 ERA, a 5.11 expected ERA, a 25.6% chase rate, a 28.9% strikeout rate, and a 10.9% barrel rate, while Taylor owns a 1.99 ERA, a 2.30 expected ERA, a 33.9% chase rate, a 36.1% strikeout rate, and a 5.9% barrel rate. It's clear that Taylor will eventually be Chicago's full-time closer. It might not be for a few weeks or a few months, but it will eventually happen. That makes him one of the best closer handcuffs in Week 10.
Brad Keller, Philadelphia Phillies (9% rostered)
When Jhoan Duran landed on the injured list back in mid-April, Brad Keller emerged as the Phillies' primary closer. He went 3-for-3 in save chances and had a 3.38 ERA in eight appearances with Duran down. Keller won't see many save opportunities with Duran now back and fully healthy, but he's next in line if anything ever happens to the hard-throwing right-hander again.
Keller has a strong 2.81 expected ERA, .213 expected batting average against, 32.4% hard-hit rate, and 85.5 mph average exit velocity to start the year.
Jose A. Ferrer, Seattle Mariners (7% rostered)
Seattle Mariners relief pitcher Jose A. Ferrer deserves some credit for his early-season pitching numbers. He has a 1.69 ERA, a 1.200 WHIP, and 23 strikeouts across 26 2/3 innings pitched. Ferrer also appears to be next in line to earn save opportunities if Andres Munoz ever misses time. The southpaw earned 11 saves with the Washington Nationals last year and has three saves with the Mariners this year.
Ferrer currently ranks in the 95th percentile in expected ERA (2.34), 93rd percentile in average exit velocity (85.6 mph), 100th percentile in walk rate (2.6%), and 96th percentile in barrel rate (2.4%).
Fantasy Baseball Closer Handcuffs For Deeper Leagues
Daniel Lynch IV, Kansas City Royals (5% rostered)
There are a ton of question marks surrounding the closer role on this Royals team. Carlos Estevez was the team's closer to begin the year, but he has been sidelined with multiple injuries since April 1. Lucas Erceg looked good in that closer role early on, but he has blown three straight save opportunities and has a 6.45 ERA on the season.
That leaves Daniel Lynch IV as a potential stash candidate in some deeper leagues as this closer role figures itself out. Although Alex Lange earned the save in the Royals' 5-2 win over the Reds on Wednesday, Lynch actually entered the game in the eighth inning to face the heart of Cincinnati's lineup with the score tied.

With the southpaw delivering another scoreless inning to lower his ERA to 1.85, he could emerge as the Royals' closer.
Sam Bachman, Los Angeles Angels (2% rostered)
Sam Bachman has been the best reliever in the Los Angeles Angels' bullpen this year. And it hasn't been close. Bachman has a 2.22 ERA and 29 strikeouts across 28 1/3 innings pitched. Although Kirby Yates currently owns that closer role, there could be a changing of the guard very soon. Yates has a 4.32 ERA in his first nine appearances this season.
Meanwhile, Bachman's metrics are elite. He ranks in the top 10% of the league in expected ERA (2.64), expected batting average against (.182), average exit velocity (86.2 mph), and whiff rate (34.9%).
Justin Slaten, Boston Red Sox (1% rostered)
This one might be a little bit out there since Justin Slaten is probably third in line for saves with Aroldis Chapman as the team's closer and Garrett Whitlock as the potential second option once he's healthy. But with the Red Sox eight games under .500 in early June, they could trade both Chapman and Whitlock at the deadline since both are on expiring contracts.
That would open up a spot for Slaten to see save opportunities in the second half. The right-hander has a 3.60 ERA and a 32.6% strikeout rate in his first 11 appearances this season.
