ANALYSIS: Sound the alarms, boyz. Jerry Jeudy got injured yesterday in the Denver Broncos opening game after logging 31 snaps and while putting up some very solid numbers. Later it was known that Jeudy will miss between 6 and 8 weeks, which makes the next couple of months #PatrickSZN. Barely rostered in any living league, Tim Patrick has found a way to make it to the starting receiving corps of the Broncos and he already put on a show on Sunday against the Giants.
Tim Patrick is definitely not new to fantasy GMs, nor an unknown proposition. This is his fourth year as a pro, and he had his breakout season last year while also backing up a starter after Courtland Sutton was forced to miss every game from W3 on. That window of opportunity allowed Patrick to bulk up his numbers getting 79 targets for 742 yards and 6 TDs over 15 games in 2020. Now, to kick things off this season, Patrick put up a nice 4-4-39-1 line that can't get much more efficient.
Perhaps the best thing on Patrick's stat sheet, though, is the fact that he played 46 snaps (70%) and the second-most among Broncos wideouts only behind Courtland Sutton's 53 (80%). Patrick is going to stay on the field for a lot of plays, the Broncos won't have Jeudy around for a while, and Patrick can truly become a steal off the WW given his opportunities going forward. Not the best quarterback(s) in the nation tossing him the ball, I know, but he should be good enough to put up steady WR3/FLEX-viable finishes weekly.
