Rebuilding Your FFPC Dynasty Team: Prime Trade Targets

Greg Dulcich Fantasy Football Rankings, Waiver Wire Pickups, Draft Sleepers

The FFPC (Fantasy Football Players Championship) is the place for serious fantasy players to compete in dynasty leagues for high-stakes action. Scott Engel tells you who to acquire to improve your dynasty team outlook.

I salute those who have not given up on their dynasty teams in the Fantasy Football Players Championship (FFPC) or in any other league. Piloting a dynasty team means sticking with your roster through ups and downs.

The most rewarding feeling may be taking a losing team to an eventual championship. If you can tough out a losing season or two and stay on target during a rebuilding process, the patient approach should pay off.

One proven route to take is to buy low on certain players or target some possible sleeper types in trades. The recommended guys here should be on your list of possible acquisitions during what will be a very busy upcoming period of action in dynasty leagues. Some of them may be better trade pickups after the NFL Draft, yet should still be on the dealing radar starting now in the FFPC and all other dynasty leagues.

FFPC Dynasty Trade Targets: Swoop In Soon

Running Backs

Jonathan Taylor: He is coming off a very disappointing season and Taylor’s value may never be lower. If you can sell the current person that rosters Taylor on the offensive growth needed with a rookie QB in Indianapolis, pulling off a deal is possible.

Najee Harris: As highlighted by fantasypros.com, Harris dropped to 14th among RBs in points per game last season. Yet he still had a significant opportunity share and the Pittsburgh offense may start improving in 2023.

Cam Akers: Many fantasy players are very skeptical about Akers, but he will be further removed from his Achilles injury in 2023 and the Rams’ offense will have an overall healthier look. He will be only 24 years old when the new season starts.

Rachaad White: He should be set to take over as the top playmaking RB for the Buccaneers, although Tampa Bay may draft a complementary RB for White. He is versatile and might be ready for some breakout fantasy performances in year two.

Wide Receivers

Jerry Jeudy: We have not seen the best version of Jeudy yet, and with Sean Payton pumping some life into the Denver offense in 2023, now is the best time to make a trade push for him.

Darnell Mooney: Mooney can re-merge as a more comfortable No. 2 WR in the Chicago offense this season. Justin Fields should only improve as a passer, and D.J. Moore will command much defensive attention now.

Alec Pierce: I was a fan of Pierce as a rookie, as he is a sizable playmaker with downfield gears. With an improved QB outlook in Indianapolis, we could see Pierce rise to starting fantasy status in 2023 with many promising seasons ahead of him.

Skyy Moore: The WR depth chart in Kansas City has been thinned out enough for Moore to have a real opportunity to become more of a key contributor for Patrick Mahomes in 2023.

Romeo Doubs: In his rookie season, Doubs generated some early excitement, but he was ultimately overshadowed by Christian Watson. Get him now before Doubs eventually solidifies his status as a key pass-catcher for Jordan Love.

Rondale Moore: I would wait to see what the Cardinals do in the draft at WR first, but if they don’t bring in any significant competition for Moore, I would see it as a sign that he is finally ready to step forward at WR for Arizona. DeAndre Hopkins will be gone and only Marquise Brown will be ahead of Moore on the Arizona WR depth chart.

Tyquan Thornton: The second-year man is a fantasy afterthought right now, and there are some concerns about his durability. Yet Thornton does have true playmaking potential and he can add much-needed explosiveness to the New England passing game. He has some sleeper promise in all formats.

Terrace Marshall Jr: On the depth chart, Marshall only has D.J. Chark and an aging Adam Thielen ahead of him. Marshall still has some potential upside as a deep sleeper type for a top incoming rookie QB.

Quarterbacks

Deshaun Watson: He is set to embark on a full preseason with Cleveland and this may be the year when Watson starts to recapture much of his past form. It is a good time to buy on Watson.

Trey Lance: The recent trade rumors suggest that Lance will either truly compete to be a starter for the 49ers or he could get a shot to start elsewhere. Either way, I don’t see him eventually settling into being a backup QB.

Russell Wilson: Payton can help Wilson return to respectability. He should at least be an interesting trade target in superflex dynasty leagues and maybe you can get another decent three seasons out of Wilson.

Jordan Love: The Packers’ front office is clearing the runway for Love to take over as their starter. That means they believe Love is ready to prove himself, and I would see him starting in 2023 as a legitimate endorsement of his potential. Sometimes I will defer to the apparent views of NFL decision-makers and roll with the possible results.

Desmond Ridder: If he is still Atlanta’s clear starter after the NFL Draft, then the team has made a firm commitment to him and Ridder will be a worthy trade target in superflex leagues.

Tight Ends

Greg Dulcich: I willingly dealt a second-round pick for Dulcich in an FFPC dynasty league. Payton has always made the TE a key part of his offensive schemes and Dulcich displayed some real glimpses of possible upside as a rookie. Of course, the FFPC has a TE-premium scoring format, so I recommend aggressively pursuing the guys that should see a boost in value in the near future.

David Njoku: A better version of Watson would be the best QB Njoku has ever played with. The Browns’ TE may finally realize his tremendous potential starting in 2023.

Cade Otton: We should start to see him rise to starting fantasy status this season as Otton becomes a more frequent contributor in the passing game for Tampa Bay.

Mike Gesicki: In New England, Gesicki should have a prime opportunity to revive his career. He is still a big, athletic target and he was not properly utilized in Miami.

Jake Ferguson: Dalton Schultz is gone and Ferguson may be ready to take over as the new top pass-catching TE in Dallas. As noted by USA Today, Ferguson was the second-highest-graded rookie TE by Pro Football Focus last season.
