It's time to ring in the summer solstice here, with all sorts of waiver adds that are ready to crank up the temperature. Even if you have to make some claims under the umbrella while sipping on a cold beverage, be sure you aren't relaxing while your opponents pass you by! Let's explore some names who will give you a boost towards the ultimate goal of winning.
While I'd love for you all to be in leagues with active trading, the waiver wire is your most reliable acquisition source. Be honest with yourself about what your strengths and weaknesses are, as winning a category by double the next team behind you earns no additional benefit. And then go out and address those weak points with my waiver wire targets for Week 13.
We'll use Yahoo rostered rates up to 40%, listing players in an approximate priority order (check our full waiver article for up to 70% rostered!). Please note that most statistics are gathered before Saturday's games, though I'll catch key news and happenings as I write. You can find me on X (@NMariano53) to shoot any further questions my way.
Nick's Hitter Waiver Wire Targets
Catcher: Alejandro Kirk (29% rostered), Dalton Rushing (24%), Kyle Teel (10%), J.T. Realmuto (17%), Joe Mack (3%), Logan O'Hoppe (5%), Jonah Heim (1%), Victor Caratini (3%), Endy Rodriguez (2%), Keibert Ruiz (15%), Rodolfo Duran (0%)
We noted Realmuto’s underwhelming, yet steady, playing time opportunity last week, and that popped with two homers and a steal early last week. Philadelphia is still a poor offense, and his barrel rate is half of what it was in 2022-24, but the .254 xBA is still sturdy, and his 19.6% K rate is his lowest mark since ‘17, so there are still signs of life for the aging vet.
Mack has had a very slow start to his MLB career, but he’s gotten a hit in 8 of his 13 June games, leading to a .342/.432/.632 triple slash on the month. We’re encouraged by just eight strikeouts in 46 PAs, though I wish he’d start attempting a few steals following his 9-for-12 clip in the minors last year. Agustin Ramirez is only hitting .167 with one homer over 48 June at-bats, yet still has six steals. He’s not knocking on the door.
Joe Mack takes the reigning NL Cy Young Award winner yard for his second @Marlins homer!

O’Hoppe is on a 12-for-26 run with three doubles and two homers with a Sacramento series to finish up the weekend. The 26-year-old has been off most fantasy radars for a while, but his Zone Contact rate is way up at 88.7% compared to an 82.5% average, though it has come with a dip in exit velo for a wimpy .210 xBA. I’m not sold on a long-term switch being flipped here.
We’re expecting Teel back in the majors at any time, as he’s destroying minor-league pitching during his rehab assignment. And then you’re still getting solid 2C-caliber contributions from Caratini, Kelly, Ruiz, Heim, E. Rodriguez, and Duran.
