This column provides a detailed analysis of three highly stackable games for Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) contests each week.

NFL DFS STACKS OF THE WEEK

Dallas Cowboys (1-1) vs Chicago Bears (0-2) 

• Current Spread: Bears -1.5 
• Game Total: 50.5 

Get your popcorn ready. The Week 3 matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and the Chicago Bears has all the makings of a high-octane shootout. With both defenses struggling and explosive offenses eager to make a statement, this game is an absolute goldmine for fantasy managers.

The Cowboys: Dak and Company Continued Success

Dak Prescott has been playing at an elite level through the first two weeks of the season. His play is no fluke, and he's in a prime position to build on his strong start against a very poor Bears defense. In their first two games, the Bears have given up an average of 39.5 points per game and have allowed 468 passing yards and 7 total passing touchdowns. These numbers scream "smash spot" for Dak.

While the Cowboys’ defense was shredded by the Giants in a Week 2 thriller, that loss provided a crucial insight for fantasy. It proved that Dak and the Dallas offense can play a keep-up, high-volume style of football when needed. In that game, Dak connected with CeeDee Lamb 9 times for 112 yards, Jake Ferguson 9 times for 78 yards, and George Pickens 5 times for 68 yards and a score.

Given how porous Chicago's defense has been, stacking your lineup with Cowboys players is a no-brainer. The combination of Dak and Lamb will be a trendy DFS pick for a reason, but due to the expected shootout, it would be wise to add other pass-catchers like Pickens and Ferguson into the mix.

The Bears: A "Get-Right" Game for Williams

On the other side of the ball, the Chicago Bears offense also has a very favorable matchup. As the Week 2 game against the Giants showed, the Cowboys' defense is far from a shutdown unit, having given up 566 yards and 3 touchdowns through the air so far this season.

Second-year QB Caleb Williams has shown flashes of stellar play, especially in the first half of games. Although he has cooled off after halftime in both of his starts, this game is the perfect spot for him to put together a full four-quarter performance. Williams has a ton of weapons at his disposal, but Week 2 told us everything we need to know about his preferred target. The talented second-year wideout, Rome Odunze, caught 7 passes for 128 yards and 2 scores against the Detroit Lions. Odunze is emerging as the Bears' number one wide receiver, making him a must-start fantasy option. Look for Williams to attack this Cowboys defense, targeting his go-to man early and often as the Bears look to keep pace with Dallas for all four quarters.

With poor defensive play on both sides, explosive offenses, and a high projected point total, this game is a prime target for fantasy stacks in Week 3.

LA Rams (2-0) vs Philadelphia Eagles (2-0) 

• Current Spread: Eagles -3.5 
• Game Total: 44.5 

A High-Leverage Play: Why to Stack Stafford and Nacua in Week 3

Most fantasy players will look at the Week 3 matchup for the Philadelphia Eagles and immediately "fade" the Los Angeles Rams' offense. But in DFS, where you need to be different to win, this is exactly the kind of stack that can propel you to the top of the leaderboard.

The Passing Game

Matthew Stafford and Puka Nacua have been incredibly efficient through two weeks, connecting on 18 of 20 targets for 221 yards. Meanwhile, the Eagles have showcased an elite run defense. They stifled Cowboys' running back Javonte Williams (54 yards on 15 carries) and the entire Kansas City Chiefs backfield (55 yards on 19 carries) in Weeks 1 and 2.

The Rams' own rushing attack hasn't found its footing yet in 2025, with Kyren Williams averaging just 3.8 yards per carry. Given the Eagles' stout front, it’s highly unlikely the Rams will find success on the ground. This forces the game into Stafford's hands, making the Stafford-Nacua connection a near-certainty for high volume.

The McVay Factor

If there's any coach who can devise a game plan to exploit this Eagles defense, it's Sean McVay. The Eagles' defensive philosophy is to limit big plays. McVay will happily scheme a methodical, short-passing attack game plan designed to move the chains and keep the offense on the field. This strategy perfectly suits Nacua, who excels at winning on quick, high-percentage throws in the short-to-intermediate range.

Forcing the Game Script

The Eagles, meanwhile, have shown a clear preference for a run-heavy offense, throwing for just 253 yards combined in their first two games. The Rams' best shot at a statement win in Philadelphia is to force the Eagles out of their comfort zone. By scheming a plan that is pass-heavy and putting points on the board, the Rams will try and force Jalen Hurts and company to drop back and pass, something they have yet to do in 2025.  Look for the Eagles to be forced to get their two stud wideouts, A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, going in Week 3.

In what is a crucial early-season game for the Rams' contender status, expect them to lean heavily on their passing attack. The projected lower ownership on Stafford and Nacua makes them a high-upside, high-leverage pick for Week 3.  This stack does come with risk, but fortune favors the bold.

Cincinnati Bengals (2-0) vs Minnesota Vikings (1-1)

More Than Just Backups: Why Bengals-Vikings Is a Week 3 Fantasy Goldmine

This Week 3 matchup between the Cincinnati Bengals and Minnesota Vikings has been overshadowed by key injuries to both starting quarterbacks. With both Joe Burrow and J.J. McCarthy sidelined, the game's betting total plummeted. But while many will be scared off by the backup quarterbacks, Jake Browning and Carson Wentz are two experienced veterans who are more than capable of putting points on the scoreboard, especially with the elite weapons at their disposal.

This game angle for DFS is not about the quarterbacks; it’s about the unstoppable receiving talent on each side.

The Revenge Game Part II: Browning's Perfect Opportunity

Despite a decorated college career at Washington, Jake Browning went undrafted in 2019 and eventually signed with the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent. After not seeing any regular-season action with the Vikings, he finally got his chance in 2023 with the Bengals after Joe Burrow went down with a season-ending wrist injury.

He proved himself in this seven-game stretch, completing over 70% of his passes for 1,936 yards and 12 touchdowns. His best performance came in a Week 15 victory against his former team, the Minnesota Vikings. Now, with a much better supporting cast in Cincinnati, Browning gets a chance for a revenge game, part two.

After Burrow went down last week in Week 2, Browning came in and zeroed in on Ja'Marr Chase, who finished with 14 receptions on 16 targets. Chase is one of a select few wideouts who is virtually quarterback-proof, and Browning will lean heavily on the superstar receiver to lead the Bengals' offense.

The Veteran Presence: Carson Wentz 

Unlike Browning, Carson Wentz was a highly touted prospect drafted second overall in 2016. At 32 years old, Wentz will try to prove that he still has some game left in the tank. In his career, Wentz has thrown for over 22,000 yards and 153 touchdowns. In Week 3, he will rely on arguably the best receiver in the game, Justin Jefferson. Jefferson's elite talent and route-running make him an easy target for any quarterback, and he will be the go-to option for Wentz all game long.

Don't Sleep on the Backups, Thank the Receivers

While the headlines will focus on the injuries, savvy fantasy managers should see this game for what it is: a hidden gem. Both Browning and Wentz have something to prove, and they have the best possible security blankets to help them get it done. The star wide receivers Ja'Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson will come at a high price in DFS, but the savings you get from rostering either Browning or Wentz will help you fill the rest of your lineup.
