LCK & LPL DFS Picks for 7/9/20: DraftKings, FanDuel League of Legends Daily Fantasy

Billy Hoffer’s League of Legends (LoL) DFS advice and DraftKings, FanDuel lineup picks for LPL, and LCK slates on 7/9/20. His top LoL value plays and eSports DFS recommendations.

Hello, Esports enthusiasts, and welcome back to our continued Esports coverage of League of Legends DFS! After a wacky slate last night that saw undefeated DRX go down to KT Rolster, we reset and focus on another four games of LPL/LCK action.

My name is Billy Hoffer and I'm really excited to be making my debut as an Esports analyst here at Rotoballer. I'm a big fan of LOL, CSGO, and COD and have been grinding DFS in a bunch of different sports for some time now. I realize I have some big shoes to fill as I fill in for the esteemed Mr. Malmanger with these LPL and LCK picks, but I am going to do my best to give you high-quality analysis and actionable advice for tomorrow morning's DFS slate.

I'll be providing my League of Legends advice, analysis, and picks, for this LCK/LPL slate on DraftKings and FanDuel that locks at 4:00 AM on Thursday. July 9th, 2020. Make sure you follow me on Twitter @Hofferkid!

LCK Matches

4:00 AM T1 (-1000) vs. SeolHaeOne Prince

T1 comes into this one holding a  4-2 record and sitting at third in the LCK standings. Meanwhile, SP sits at 1-5 and 9th in the LCK. SP is awful, T1 hols h advantage in every single relevant statistical category. Dragons, heralds, and barons per game all favor  T1, as does first blood and first turret percentages. T1 has had some issue themselves as f late, but I am fully expecting a 2-0 sweep here. SP has averaged 16.1deaths per game this split, that is a solid number that I think T1 should've able to exploit. There is always a concern with playing a full T1 stack because their ceilings typically feel limited. I definitely don't mind taking my smaller stack from this game and a full four-man stack will definitely be under-owned. Canna is an elite play in the top lane. I would rather not play the guessing game with the T1 jungle situation, but if I had to guess who it would be, I would say Cuzz. Faker and Teddy round out my favorite plays from T1. I would rather not touch Effort as he has been terrible.

The pick: T1 2-0

Top T1 plays:

  • Canna - TOP
  • Teddy - ADC
  • Faker - MID

7:00 AM: DAMWON Gaming (-360) vs. Afreeca Freecs

This is definitely the juicier of the two LCK matchups tonight. DAMWON sits at 5-1 and second place in the LCK while the Freecs sit at 4-2 and fourth in the LCK. DWG has the better first tower percentage (92%) while AF ave the better first blood percentage. AF holds the better dragon rate, but DWG has better herald and baron control. Vision is pretty even between the two squads. DWG is much better early as they hold an advantage in almost everything at the 15-minute mark. DWG has looked nothing short of elite so far this split. This will be a good test for them but I think they sweep while racking up kills in the process and they are a top play across the board for me. Showmaker has looked like a stud this split and should be the first piece in on every DWG stack. BeryL has totally revolutionized the support role using he pantheon as an elite and productive counter to the aphelios which happens to be Mystic's most played champion. I do not mind a shot on AF in GPPs but I just think that DWG is too talented and plays too well as a team.

The pick: DWG   2-0

Top DWG plays:

  • Showmaker - MID
  • BeryL - SUP
  • Ghost - ADC
  • Canyon - JNG

LPL Matches

5:00 AM: Vici Gaming vs. Funplus Phoenix (-375)

FPX comes into this one 5-2 and seventh in the LPL while Vici sits at 4-3 and in ninth. Vici s the much better team early holding a +653 gold advantage at 15 minutes while FPX sits at -252. Vici also holds the advantage in its first tower percentage. FPX holds slight advantages in heralds and barons per game, while Vici have a slight dragon advantage. Another day with Vici on the slate, ugh.  Does anyone actually like this team? I know I don't. Time and time again they have let me down yet I always seem to go right back to the well. Not tonight, I think FPX wins this 2-1. I fully expect Tian to eat Leyan up in the jungle battle. iBoy has looked great recently on the side of VG, I believe they are a live dog so if you do go there, iBoy and Cube are my favorites. I think Doinb will be too much to handle for Zeka as this mid/jungle duo on the side of FPX really intrigues me.

The pick: FPX 2-1

Top FPX plays:

  • Tian
  • Doinb
  • Lwx
  • Khan

Top VG plays:

  • iBoy
  • Cube

7:00 AM: LGD Gaming vs. JD Gaming (-240)

This is a battle of two of the better teams in the LPL. JDG sits at 6-2 and LGD has gotten much better from last split and sits at 4-2. LGD has advantages in first tower and first blood percentages. They are also better than JDG early with a gold differential of +607 in the first 15 minutes. JDG holds small advantages in heralds and barons per game, while LGD has a slightly better dragon rate. This is kind of a "prove yourself" spot for LDG and I expect them to do just that. I'll take LGD here 2-1. Kanavi has seen some regression this split while Peanut has only gotten better. Not to mention he has an elite kill participation of 78%.  Kramer and Mark (who is all of the sudden good this split) are also great plays from this LGD squad. Kramer holds a 73% Kill Participation and is not shy of having 7-10 kill games. I would probably stay away from Langx as he has a tough matchup with Zoom. This is my upset special of the night - not for the faint of heart!

The pick: LGD 2-1

Top LGD plays:

  • Kramer
  • Peanut
  • Mark
  • Xiye

Summary

  1.  DWG is my favorite stack of the night and I recommend getting a 3-4 man in all formats.
  2. Do not be afraid to leave money on the table tonight, FD has DWG priced way too low and you can fit whatever you want.
  3. Play Canna at TOP, even if you don't stack T1!
