LCK & LPL DFS Picks for 7/12/20: DraftKings, FanDuel League of Legends

Billy Hoffer’s League of Legends (LoL) DFS advice and DraftKings, FanDuel lineup picks for LPL, and LCK slates on 7/12//20. His top LoL value plays and eSports DFS recommendations.

Hello, eSports enthusiasts, and welcome back to our continued eSports DFS coverage of League of Legends for DraftKings and FanDuel!

My name is Billy Hoffer and I'm really excited to be making my debut as an eSports analyst here at Rotoballer this week. I'm a big fan of LOL, CSGO, and COD and have been a DFS grinder for some time now. I realize I have some big shoes to fill as I fill in for the esteemed Mr. Malmanger with these LPL and LCK picks, but I am going to do my best to give you high-quality analysis and actionable advice for tomorrow morning's DFS slate.

I'll be providing my League of Legends advice, analysis, and picks, for this LCK/LPL slate on DraftKings and FanDuel that locks at 4:00 AM on Sunday, July 12th, 2020. Make sure you follow me on Twitter @Hofferkid!

LCK Matches

T1 (-650) vs. Team Dynamics

T1 comes into this one sitting at 5-2 and third in the LCK. Team Dynamics sits at 3-4 and have dropped their last three. TD has the advantage in first tower while T1 owns first blood percentage. Dragon and baron rates favor T1, while TD has a slight herald advantage. T1 also has a fair advantage in the vision department.

Ultimately, I think T1 is just way too talented for TD. I am predicting a sweep in favor of T1. Teddy should be able to feast in this bot lane match-up. Another day with T1 on the slate, and another day that I plan on locking in Canna. This guy is one of the more consistent top laners in all of the LPL/LCK combined. I will probably be using T1 as my smaller stack, but if you do want to go with a full four-man stack, then I would use the four that are recommended below, I'd rather not touch Effort or try to guess the jungle situation.

The pick: T1 2-0

Top T1 plays:

  • Teddy - ADC
  • Canna - TOP
  • Faker - MID
  • T1 Team Slot

Gen. G (-1400) vs. Hanwha Life eSports

Two LCK matchups on this slate, and likely two sweeps. This one probably does not need much analysis. Gen. G owns Hanwha in every statistical category that is relevant. Hanwha is still winless thus far in this split, and I do not see a way that changes in this one. Bdd is an elite play in the mid-lane and should have zero problem steam rolling whoever Hanwha has to offer.

I truly feel bad for Viper, as the rest of his team is just awful. Hanwha has averaged 15.2 deaths per game this split. That is not a bad number, but I am a bit scared of Gen. G just blowing the out of the water and not producing huge fantasy numbers. They will be chalky and you likely want to grab a piece, or the team slot at least. Clid would be my second favorite option behind Bdd.

The pick: Gen. G 2-0

Top Gen. G plays:

  • Bdd - MID
  • Clid - JNG
  • Ruler - ADC
  • Rascal - TOP
  • Gen. G Team Slot

LPL Matches

LGD Gaming (-265) vs. Oh My God

LGD comes into this one fresh off of a 2-1 loss to JDG, but they sit at 4-3 and ninth in the LPL. OMG stands at 3-5 and 11th in the LPL. I think this is an LGD squad that will do some damage down the stretch and into playoffs and I like them to make quick work of OMG here in a 2-0 sweep. Recently, we have seen multiple games/series where OMG has been dying a lot or racking up kills. That is not something we saw much of last split.

This makes me plenty more confident in playing a 3-4 man LGD stack. LGD holds the advantages in first turret and first blood percentages. Dragon, baron, and herald rates are almost dead even between these two squads. OMG reminds me of a team who tries to play slow and smart, except they just are not smart enough, causing them to get caught out frequently. I love the bot lane duo of Kramer and Mark  in this match-up. Peanut is also a stud and leads this team in kill participation.

The pick: LGD 2-0

Top LGD plays:

  • Kramer - ADC
  • Peanut - JNG
  • Xiye -MID
  • Mark - SUP

Royal Never Give Up (-155) vs. Edward Gaming

I know what you guys are thinking, I've broken down three games and recommended three favorites. Well if you're bored, don't worry I will spice it up right about now. I like EDG as small dogs to take down RNG 2-1. RNG is known for having really good quality wins, but also a fair share of bad losses. EDG has the advantage in first turret percentage, while RNG has a better first blood percentage. Dragon rate is dead even between these two. But EDG holds advantages in herald and baron rates. RNG has the better gold differential at 15 minutes.

I would assume RNG runs out Gala again after his recent performance. Don't get me wrong, Gala was outstanding but I have a feeling that performance was a tad fluky, let's see if he can prove me wrong. I am a big fan of Scout and feel like he has a slight edge in the mid lane match-up. Aodi also has an advantage in the top lane as I feel he is  significantly better than New. Full disclosure here - I think RNG is totally viable tonight and are not bad plays by any means, but i'm willing to take my shot on EDG and say they win it 2-1.

The pickEdward Gaming, 2-1

Top EDG plays:

  • Scout - MID
  • Hope - ADC
  • Jiejie or Junjia (whichever starts, also both have sub risk)
  • Aodi - TOP

Summary

  1. LGD is my favorite four-man stack on the slate, and Kramer is my prediction for the slate’s highest scorer
  2. Gen. G will be the chalk of the night, I would eat the team slot chalk, but individual player upside worries me a tad in this match
  3. Just play Canna at TOP, again.
