Andy's top fantasy football drops to consider making before Week 7 of the fantasy football season. Time to say goodbye to players like Hassan Haskins, Michael Carter, and more?
Knowing when it is time to cut an important player can be difficult. While most of these players may hold value as handcuffs, at this point in the season, you likely need viable plug-and-play options with injuries piling up and bye weeks in full swing.
In this piece, we will look at five cut options ahead of Week 7 and analyze the 25 most dropped players over the past 24 hours and determine if managers should hold or send these players to the waiver wire.
Who should fantasy managers cut before Week 7 lineups lock? Let's dive in!

Players to Consider Cutting for Week 7
Hassan Haskins, Los Angeles Chargers - 35% Rostered
Even with Omarion Hampton (ankle) joining fellow top RB Najee Harris (Achilles) on the IR this past weekend, Hassan Haskins maintained a limited role in their Week 6 victory. Leading up to this game, many reports suggest that Haskins would operate in a timeshare with Kimani Vidal. However, Vidal dominated the workload as Haskins took only six carries.
Through six games, Haskins has taken only 11 attempts for a mere 27 yards and has caught both of his targets for just 11 yards. Given that he will remain nothing more than a low-end change-of-pace option behind Vidal, he is a safe player to cut in all formats. Once Hampton returns, Haskins will revert to the No. 3 role.

Michael Carter, Arizona Cardinals - 45% Rostered
After Trey Benson (knee) hit the IR, Michael Carter looked to be a short-term RB2. In Week 5, Carter led the way, taking 18 carries for 51 yards and a score. He was also involved in the passing game, catching all five of his targets for 22 yards. However, in Week 6, the Cardinals opted to give the lead role to Bam Knight, which pushed Carter into a disappointing timeshare.
This past Sunday, Carter took only nine carries for a low 34 yards. While he will continue to push for double-digit carries, Knight's increased usage hindered his ceiling. Managers in shallower 10-team leagues should feel comfortable cutting Carter ahead of Week 7.
Tyquan Thornton, Kansas City Chiefs - 15% Rostered
With Xavier Worthy (shoulder) and Rashee Rice (suspension) missing time earlier in the season, Tyquan Thornton saw a significant role in the offense. From Weeks 2 through 5, Thornton averaged a solid 13.0 PPR points per game and tallied 58 yards per game. However, with Worthy back in action and Ric expected to return this weekend, Thornton will revert to the No. 4 role.
In Week 6, Thornton's role began to decrease as Marquise Brown led the way, catching two touchdowns, suggesting he will be Patrick Mahomes' third WR going forward. While Thornton's speed offers him upside for spike weeks, his role as the No. 4 WR does not make him worth holding in any standard format.
Calvin Ridley, Tennessee Titans - 75% Rostered
The other WR to consider cutting ahead of Week 7 is Calvin Ridley for the Tennessee Titans. Ridley exited the Week 6 contest early due to a hamstring injury. Before exiting, Ridley caught just one pass for 18 yards. Given that he has yet to practice this week, the veteran wideout is trending to miss his first game of the campaign.
Through the first five weeks, Ridley has been a very disappointing asset for fantasy. He has only tallied double-digit PPR points once and has averaged an underwhelming 54.4 yards per game. Given Cam Ward's struggles and the emergence of rookie WR Elic Ayomanor, Ridley's upside will remain capped.
His injury also lowers his short-term upside. He is a safe drop in all standard two-WR 12-team leagues.

Mark Andrews, Baltimore Ravens - 80% Rostered
The final player we will look at is widely respected but has been one of the most disappointing players at the position. Mark Andrews has been a staple in the high-end TE1 range throughout most of his career. However, in six games this season, Andrews has only eclipsed 10.0 PPR points once and is averaging a low 29.0 yards per game.
He has only found the back of the ned zone twice (both of which occurred in their Week 3 loss to the Lions). Given his TD-dependent due to his low-yardage total, seeing him score only twice in his first six weeks is not ideal.
With Baltimore on a bye week, managers needing to fill their tight end spots should consider dropping Andrews in shallower formats in favor of Harold Fannin Jr. or Mason Taylor, who could be in store for more favorable outcomes this weekend and for the remainder of the season.
However, managers in deeper leagues should consider holding Andrews as he may still hold high-end TE2 value once Lamar Jackson (hamstring) returns.
