Prioritize These Running Backs On Most Waiver Wires
| Top Priorities | Team | Rostered |
| Blake Corum | Los Angeles Rams | 40% |
| Kenneth Gainwell | Pittsburgh Steelers | 60% |
| Jacory Croskey-Merritt | Washington Commanders | 48% |
| Chris Rodriguez Jr. | Washington Commanders | 33% |
| Jawhar Jordan | Houston Texans | 0% |
| Michael Carter | Arizona Cardinals | 5% |
| Jaleel McLaughlin | Denver Broncos | 1% |
Blake Corum, Los Angeles Rams- 40% Rostered
The favorable trajectory of Corum’s workload since Week 7 has solidified the rationale for utilizing him as a starter. It has also sustained his status as a critical handcuff for anyone with Kyren Williams on their roster.
Corum has also secured a 36.1% snap share since Week 10, while averaging 9.7 attempts/61.7 rushing yards per game. He is also fifth among all backs with 280 yards (93.3 per game) since Week 13. Corum has also accrued 17 carries inside the red zone since Week 7, along with 10 attempts inside the 10-yard line.

— NFL (@NFL) December 14, 2025
That includes Corum’s numbers when the Rams hosted Detroit in Week 15. Corum secured a 46% snap share, carried 11 times, and generated 71 rushing yards. He also averaged 6.5 yards per attempt and generated his fourth touchdown since Week 13.
Corum’s unquestioned role as the Rams’ RB2 also leaves him primed to seize a sizable workload if Williams is forced to the sideline when Los Angeles faces Seattle and Atlanta in Weeks 16-17. Corum is capable of delivering RB1 production if he ascends into a lead-back role, which launches him atop this week's Tier 1 recommendations.
Kenneth Gainwell, Pittsburgh Steelers - 60% Rostered
Gainwell has maintained a favorable workload throughout his initial season with the Steelers, while attaining snap shares that have eclipsed 40% during eight of his matchups.
He has also surpassed a 50% share in four different contests. That includes the career-high 77.4% share that he secured in Week 4, when Pittsburgh’s lead back, Jaylen Warren, was inactive (knee).

Gainwell flourished as Pittsburgh’s primary back during that matchup, while soaring to RB3 in scoring (31.4 points), and securing career highs in attempts (19), rushing yards (99), and touchdowns (two). Gainwell has also established career highs in rushing yards (371/28.5 per game) while functioning as Warren’s direct backup throughout the regular season.
He also leads the Steelers’ backfield in routes run (220), target share (15.4%), receptions (50/3.8 per game), and receiving yards (286/22.0 per game). Gainwell’s usage and output have sustained his viability as a flex option when he is performing in a rotation with Warren. Gainwell is also capable of delivering RB1 production once again if Warren is unable to operate as the Steelers’ lead back when Pittsburgh travels to Detroit and Cleveland in Weeks 16-17.
Jacory Croskey-Merritt, Washington Commanders - 48% Rostered
Croskey-Merritt’s stock skyrocketed at the onset of the regular season. This was partially fueled by his promising NFL debut, when he led the Commanders’ backfield in carries (10) and rushing yards (82) in Week 1. Croskey-Merritt also paced Washington’s backs in snap share (43.8%), attempts (82/10.3 per game), and rushing yards (402/50.3 per game) entering Week 9.
His workload steadily diminished from Weeks 9-14 due to the ascension of Chris Rodriguez Jr. into the lead-back role. That included Croskey-Merritt’s 16,2% snap share in Weeks 13-14, as he also averaged 5.5 attempts/26 yards per game during that two-game sequence.
However, the groin injury that Rodriguez sustained has vaulted the Arizona product among this week's top options to pursue from the waiver wire.

— Washington Commanders (@Commanders) December 14, 2025
Croskey-Merritt operated as the Commanders’ primary rusher during Washington’s matchup with the Giants, while securing his highest snap share since Week 8 (55.2%). He also paced Washington’s backfield with a season-high 18 carries and 96 rushing yards, which was also his highest yardage total since Week 5.
Rodriguez’s status should be monitored, but there is justification for adding Croskey-Merritt, who will provide you with a flex option if Rodriguez remains unavailable during Washington’s matchups with Philadelphia and Dallas in Weeks 16 and 17.
Chris Rodriguez Jr., Washington Commanders - 34% Rostered
Rodriguez’s aforementioned rise into lead back duties for Washington propelled him to team highs in snap share (39.8%), attempts (54/10.8 per game), and rushing yards (253/50.6 per game) from Weeks 9-15. He also generated three touchdowns.
Croskey-Merritt held a 28.7% share during that period, while Jeremy McNichols registered a 34.3% share. However, Rodriguez’s statistical momentum was halted in Week 15 due to his groin injury.
Croskey-Merritt’s performance is destined to keep him involved in the allocation of touches within the backfield after Rodriguez has resurfaced. However, Rodriguez could reclaim his recent role as the Commanders’ RB1.
Touches within Washington’s backfield rotation have fluctuated on multiple occasions throughout the regular season. The uncertainty that has now emerged surrounding Rodriguez’s health will enhance the challenge of determining whether to add Croskey-Merritt or Rodriguez at this critical juncture of the playoffs. If issues at the running back position have left you searching for a flex option, Rodriguez would be the preferred choice once he returns.
Croskey-Merritt carries flex value if Rodriguez remains unavailable when the Commanders face Philadelphia and Dallas.
Jawhar Jordan, Houston Texans - 0 % Rostered
Jordan had not registered a snap at the NFL level entering Week 15. However, he has now emerged as a potential starting option during Week 16 matchups if Woody Marks (ankle) and Nick Chubb (ribs) are unable to operate in Houston‘s backfield rotation.
Jordan accumulated 1,943 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns with his 323 attempts during his final two collegiate seasons and was later selected in Round 6 of the 2024 NFL draft (205th overall) by Houston.
Jordan had not been integrated into the Texans’ offense before Week 15, but he maximized his opportunity when Houston hosted Arizona.

— NFL (@NFL) December 14, 2025
Jordan secured a 44% snap share, carried 15 times, and eclipsed 100 rushing yards (101), while averaging 6.7 yards per attempt. He also ran eight routes, captured both of his targets from C.J. Stroud, and assembled 17 yards as a receiving weapon.
The status of Marks and Chubb should be monitored as the week progresses. However, Jordan is an intriguing roster addition in advance of a favorable matchup with Las Vegas in Week 16. He will become an RB3/flex option if Marks and Chubb fail to recover from their collective injuries.
Michael Carter, Arizona Cardinals - 5% Rostered
A seemingly unending collection of injuries to Arizona running backs has now elevated Carter among this week’s options from the waiver wire. Bam Knight had been operating as the Cardinals’ lead rusher after James Conner (ankle) and Trey Benson (knee) were sidelined by their respective injuries.
It also appeared that Knight’s role would be preserved through the fantasy postseason, after it became clear that Benson’s long-awaited return from injured reserve would not materialize. However, Knight sustained an ankle injury and was carted off during Arizona’s Week 15 matchup in Houston.
That launched Carter into a sizable role, as the fifth-year back led the Cardinals’ reshaped backfield in snap share (79%) and rushing yards (56), while establishing season-highs in both categories.
Carter also paced Arizona backs in routes run (29), targets (four), and receiving yards (38). Emari Demercado resurfaced in Week 15 after being sidelined with a high ankle sprain since Week 11. However, he was limited to seven snaps, three touches, and just one yard.
The prospects of adding Carter may not be enticing, but he is currently positioned to function as the Cardinals’ lead back during their next two matchups against Atlanta and Cincinnati. That makes him a potential flex option if you construct rosters in deeper leagues.
Jaleel McLaughlin, Denver Broncos - 1% Rostered
RJ Harvey’s involvement in Denver’s backfield may have discouraged you from considering the addition of McLaughlin to your roster.
However, McLaughlin’s adjacency to Harvey on Denver’s depth chart has positioned McLaughlin to secure an expanded workload if Harvey is forced to the sideline. That scenario could develop in Week 16, after Harvey sustained a rib injury during the Broncos’ Week 15 matchup with Green Bay.
McLaughlin had attained a 15.1% snap share from Weeks 11-14, while averaging 5.3 attempts/21.7 rushing yards per game. He registered a 13.9% snap share in Week 15, while accumulating two carries and four rushing yards. While those numbers have prevented McLaughlin from reaching standalone value, it is his potential to operate with a significant workload during any absence by Harvey that elevates him among this week’s waiver wire options.
Updates regarding Harvey’s health should be monitored, but McLaughlin is now primed to function as the Broncos’ primary back during their next two matchups if Harvey is unavailable. Denver will host Jacksonville in Week 16, before traveling to Kansas City in Week 17.
Secondary Options - Week 16 Waiver Wire Running Backs
These Running Backs Could Become Assets For Your Rosters
| Secondary Options | Team | Rostered |
| Audric Estime | New Orleans Saints | 0% |
| Evan Hull | New Orleans Saints | 0% |
| Keaton Mitchell | Baltimore Ravens | 3% |
| Dylan Sampson | Cleveland Browns | 4% |
| Samaje Perine | Cincinnati Bengals | 1% |
| Jaylen Wright | Miami Dolphins | 25% |
Audric Estime / Evan Hull, New Orleans Saints - (Estime -0% Rostered), (Hull - 0% Rostered)
Devin Neal operated as the Saints’ RB1 from Weeks 12-14, in the aftermath of injuries (knee/ankle) that sidelined Alvin Kamara during those contests.
Neal secured a 75.7% snap share while remaining entrenched atop a restructured depth chart that also contained Estime and Hull. That positioned Neal to retain temporary lead back duties during Kamara’s continued absence. However, Neal sustained a hamstring injury when New Orleans hosted Carolina in Week 15.
That elevated Estime and Hull into a rotation during the contest. Estime secured a 38.1% snap share, accumulated three attempts, and assembled 11 rushing yards. He also ran 15 routes, collected all three of his targets, and produced 39 yards as a receiver.
Hull operated with a 30.1% snap share, carried four times, and generated 12 rushing yards. He also ran eight routes, but was not targeted by Tyler Shough.
The timeline for Kamara‘s return remains uncertain, and Neal's status for Week 16 is equally unclear. Estime and Hull can both be utilized as low-end flex options in deeper leagues if Kamara and Neal are unavailable for the Saints' upcoming matchups against the Jets and Titans.
Keaton Mitchell, Baltimore Ravens - 3% Rostered
Mitchell made his season debut in Week 5 and registered a 7.1% snap share from Weeks 5-8. However, he has attained an 18.4% snap share since Week 9 while operating as the backup rusher to Derrick Henry in Baltimore’s backfield rotation.
The explosive Mitchell is easily second on the Ravens in attempts (36/4.5 per game) and rushing yards (287/35.9 per game), since Week 8, while averaging 8.0 yards per attempt. He has also produced four runs of 20+ yards, including a 56-yard burst that he delivered in Week 14.

— Baltimore Ravens (@Ravens) December 7, 2025
Mitchell also sustained a knee injury in Week 14, but he reemerged for Baltimore’s matchup with AFC North rival Cincinnati in Week 15. Mitchell secured a 40% snap share, accumulated eight carries, and assembled 66 rushing yards during the contest, while averaging 8.3 yards per attempt.
Mitchell is capable of delivering a statistical eruption if he is operating as Baltimore’s temporary RB1. That would make him a critical resource in your lineup if Henry is sidelined when the Ravens face the Patriots and Packers in Weeks 16-17.
Dylan Sampson, Cleveland Browns - 12% Rostered
Sampson has reemerged as a recommended roster addition in this column, based on his potential to thrive in Cleveland’s backfield rotation if he recovers from the injuries (calf/hand) that sidelined him in Week 15.
The Browns’ placement of Jerome Ford on injured reserve (shoulder) has created an unobstructed runway for Sampson to function as Cleveland's RB2 behind Quinshon Judkins. It also positions Sampson to secure an extensive workload if Judkins is sidelined during the Browns’ remaining matchups.
This scenario developed in Week 12, when Judkins encountered a head/neck injury. Sampson attained a 37.3% snap share and capitalized by accumulating nine touches, 82 total yards, and generating his second receiving touchdown of the season.
got those wheels goin' for the score!#CLEvsLV on CBS and NFL+ pic.twitter.com/k1UFLthw35
— Cleveland Browns (@Browns) November 23, 2025
Sampson also operated with a 31.1% snap share from Weeks 12-14, while his proficiency as a receiving weapon propelled him to the second-highest yardage total among all backs (123/41 per game).
Sampson’s status should be monitored, but he remains an enticing option to pursue on this week’s waiver wire. He could operate as an RB2/RB3 if he resurfaces when Cleveland hosts Buffalo in Week 16.
Samaje Perine, Cincinnati Bengals - 4% Rostered
Perine has advanced through his ninth season as the clear RB2 in Cincinnati’s backfield rotation. He has now operated with a 34.3% snap share since Week 1. Perine also secured a 42.9% snap share and assembled 168 rushing yards (42.0 per game) from Weeks 5-8. He sustained an ankle injury after just one snap in Week 9 and remained sidelined until Week 13.
However, Perine has attained a 40.1% snap share since he reemerged from a two-game absence in Week 13. He has also carried 34 times (11.3 per game) and generated 112 rushing yards (37.3 per game) during his last three matchups.
That includes Perine’s numbers in Week 15 when he secured a 45.1% snap share, accumulated 14 attempts, and generated 42 rushing yards. He also ran 14 routes and collected his only target.
However, he injured his ankle during the contest and should be monitored. Perine will be stationed directly below Chase Brown on Cincinnati’s depth chart if he is not impacted by the injury. That would position him to operate as the Bengals’ temporary RB1 if Brown misses time during the final weeks.
Perine would also emerge as an RB2/RB3 if that situation occurs during Cincinnati’s upcoming matchups with Miami and Arizona in Weeks 16-17.
Jaylen Wright, Miami Dolphins - 25% Rostered
Wright entered his second season as a logical candidate to operate as Miami’s RB2 behind De'Von Achane following the offseason departure of Raheem Mostert.
That did not transpire initially, as Wright was relegated to 37 snaps and 19 touches from Weeks 1-13. However, Wright has secured his place among this week’s recommended options following his performance in Week 14.
Achane sustained a rib injury that limited him to a season low 33.8% snap share, while creating a runway for Wright to excel as the Dolphins’ temporary lead back.
Week Fourteen

— NFL TD Videos (@NFLTDVids) December 7, 2025
Wright exceeded his previous career highs in snap share (52.3%), attempts (24), and rushing yards (128). He also rose to third among all backs in yards after contact (82) and generated his first career touchdown.
Achane appears primed to operate in his usual role as Miami’s primary back in Week 15. Still, Wright is positioned to seize an expanded workload if Achane’s touches are managed during Miami’s matchups with Cincinnati and Tampa Bay in Weeks 16 and 17. Ollie Gordon II would also secure touches if that situation develops. However, that does not alter Wright’s status as a viable roster addition.
High Upside Handcuffs - Week 16 Waiver Wire Running Backs
These Running Backs Are Insurance Policies That Protect You From A Roster Crisis
| High Upside Handcuffs | Team | Rostered |
| Tyler Allgeier | Atlanta Falcons | 40% |
| Brian Robinson Jr. | San Francisco 49ers | 22% |
| Bhayshul Tuten | Jacksonville Jaguars | 37% |
| Malik Davis | Dallas Cowboys | 1% |
| Isaiah Davis | New York Jets | 3% |
Tyler Allgeier, Atlanta Falcons - 39% Rostered
Allgeier remains embedded among the top-tier handcuff options due to his ongoing role as Atlanta’s RB2. That sustains his prospects of flourishing with a mammoth touch total if Bijan Robinson is forced to the sideline.
Allgeier’s workloads have been erratic during the season. This creates the risk that his touches will be limited if you utilize him in your lineup. That scenario occurred in Week 15 when Allgeier registered his second-lowest snap share of the year (16.9%). He also carried twice and failed to reach 20 rushing yards for the sixth time this season (18).
While that might deter you from deploying him as a starter, it does not diminish Allgeier’s ability to perform effectively when he secures a favorable workload.
What an effort by Tyler Allgeier for the @AtlantaFalcons TD!
WASvsATL on CBS/Paramount+https://t.co/HkKw7uXnxV pic.twitter.com/F2tpqHHwsl
— NFL (@NFL) September 28, 2025
Allgeier has eclipsed a 30% snap share during eight of his matchups. He is also averaging 45.4 yards per game during the seven contests in which he has operated with 10+ attempts. Allgeier has also accrued 29 carries inside the red zone, while generating a career high of eight touchdowns.
Allgeier also remains primed to operate as Atlanta’s temporary lead back if Robinson is sidelined at any point during the Falcons’ matchups with the Cardinals and Rams in Weeks 16-17.
Brian Robinson Jr., San Francisco 49ers - 33% Rostered
Robinson has been cemented among the top-tier handcuffs throughout the regular season due to his importance as an insurance policy for anyone who has benefited from their investment in Christian McCaffrey. Robinson has now operated with a 17.2% snap share since Week 1. That includes the 22.0% share that he attained during a four-game sequence from Weeks 10-13.
The 26-year-old has also averaged 6.8 attempts/29.1 rushing yards per game while operating as San Francisco’s RB2 behind McCaffrey. Robinson’s numbers have remained well below the averages that he attained during three seasons with Washington (13.9 attempts/56.8 yards per game).
However, that is unsurprising due to the massive workload that has been secured by McCaffrey, who has now accumulated a league-high 774 snaps.
Robinson’s placement directly below McCaffrey on the 49ers depth chart leaves him primed to secure a sizable workload if McCaffrey is forced to the sideline. Robinson is capable of providing RB2 output in Shanahan’s offense if that situation emerges. McCaffrey was deemed questionable for Week 15 with a back injury. If he were to face any setback, Robinson has the upside to see a workhorse role.
That provides the incentive to seize Robinson this week. San Francisco will travel to Indianapolis in Week 16 before returning home to host Chicago in Week 17.
Bhayshul Tuten, Jacksonville Jaguars - 37% Rostered
This recommendation is predicated on Tuten’s health after he sustained a finger injury during Jacksonville’s Week 15 matchup with the Jets.
Tuten operated with an 18.6% snap share before his injury, while accumulating two touches and 23 total yards. He also generated his second receiving touchdown of the season. However, Tuten’s involvement before his departure was encouraging, after he had been relegated to a season low of two snaps in Week 14. Tuten also carried twice during that contest and fumbled on his second attempt.
Tuten had previously secured a 22.6% snap share from Weeks 1-13. That included his 27.4% share from Weeks 7-13, while the highest shares of his rookie season were also registered during that sequence (32.4%/28.6%).
The rookie also averaged 8.6 attempts/28.4 rushing yards per game from Weeks 9-13 after averaging 4.6 carries/18.6 yards per game from Weeks 1-7.
Tuten’s health should be monitored, but he remains a valuable handcuff if he resurfaces in Week 16. That would sustain his proximity to an extensive workload if Travis Etienne is forced to the sideline during the Jaguars’ matchups with Denver and Indianapolis in Weeks 16 and 17.
Malik Davis, Dallas Cowboys - 1% Rostered
Davis’s ascension from the Cowboys’ practice squad to a consistent role as the RB2 behind Javonte Williams has launched Davis among the select group of backs that can be secured as insurance policies during the fantasy postseason.
Davis garnered his first offensive snap in Week 7 and had accumulated 10 snaps entering Week 11. However, he has now averaged 15.8 snaps per game during his last five matchups. That includes Davis’s numbers when the Cowboys hosted the Vikings in Week 15. He also established season highs in snaps (37) and carries (eight), while assembling 21 rushing yards and generating his second touchdown since Week 13.
Williams had averaged 53.2 snaps per game (75.9% share) from Weeks 1-14. However, he registered a season low of 20 snaps after sustaining a shoulder issue in Week 15.
Williams returned to the contest, but his injury provided a reminder that Davis can become a valuable resource if Williams is forced to the sideline. That supplies the incentive for adding Davis in advance of the Cowboys' next two matchups with the Chargers and the Commanders.
Isaiah Davis, New York Jets - 3% Rostered
Davis has now operated as the unchallenged RB2 in the Jets’ backfield rotation since Week 5. He had secured a 40.4% snap share from Weeks 5-8, while averaging 5.8 touches/43.8 total yards per game.
Davis's snap share had diminished to 23.9% from Weeks 10-14. His per-game averages also decreased (2.4 touches/10.2 total yards), which had eviscerated his prospects of attaining standalone value.
However, Davis's involvement increased in Week 15, as he secured a 38.2% snap share. He also attained his highest touch total since Week 8 (10) and generated 65 total yards. Davis also established a season high with his nine carries and produced his first touchdown of the season.

— NFL (@NFL) December 14, 2025
Breece Hall was contending with a knee issue in advance of New York’s Week 15 matchup at Jacksonville. This served as a reminder that Davis remains a viable insurance policy for anyone who is relying on Hall during the fantasy postseason.
Davis will seize a massive workload if Hall’s touches are reduced for any reason during the Jets’ matchups with New Orleans and New England in Weeks 16-17.
